Wingnut Women of the Internets, Unite!

Michelle Malkin is pimping a new website called “The Cotillion,”, a collection of wingnutty female bloggers (or as Michelle calls them, “hot conservative gals of the blogosphere”).

As if Michelle’s endorsement weren’t enough proof of the ladies’ wingnuttery, take a look at what Beth, the founder of The Cotillion, wrote:

Thanks to Michelle Malkin for your blessing; you are, of course, our inspiration!

*shudders*

Because we here at Sadly, No! love making new friends (and picking up hot babes), I figured I’d scope out some of the ladies in the Cotillion and set the best ones up with Gavin (I dunno if he has a girlfriend or not, but what the heck. Besides, Seb’s already spoken for, and his wife wasn’t too happy when she found out about his steamy threesome with Neal Horsley and Oskar the anti-American goat).

Now, let’s meet the ladies.

Our first woman is Stacy, whose blog is called NotADesperateHousewife. She proudly calls herself “THE QUEEN OF MISOGYNY!!!” and lives with her husband (sorry, Gavin) in Vespa’s home state of Colorado.

Let’s check out one of Stacy’s posts:

Another Personal Responsibility Post

I am an advocate of personal responsibility; the victimhood mentality is unrealistic, unnatural and is the result of individuals unwilling to admit that they are fallible and are incapable of enduring consequences.

On Sunday, here in the Denver area, a 32 year-old woman was raped and left by a canal. She was found by an older woman out for her morning walk. Thankfully, she was not killed; the older woman helped her to assistance. […]

The woman was at a bar Saturday night and ‘befriended’ two men. The customers in the bar were so suspicious of these men that they watched them throughout the evening. The bartender, seeing where this situation with the woman and the men was leading to, pulled her aside and told her not to leave with these men. The customers, still uncomfortable with these men, went so far as to videotape them leaving together and wrote down the license plate number of the vehicle they left in. Did you get that? Everyone in the bar, except the woman, knew something was not right with these guys.

Now, I am not condoning rape of any type, just like I said here awhile back. But I feel that the victim is partially to blame here.

Stacy, have you ever met Mr. Max Ross? I think you two would get along great.

Who are you that you are willing to leave with TWO complete strangers? What part of your brain is not functioning when you make decisions such as these? How do you expect for good to come out of a decision such as this?

It never occurs to Stacy that they might have slipped her a date-rape drug to make her extra “agreeable.”

But then again, we shouldn’t expect critical thinking from anyone who counts Michelle Malkin as an “inspiration.”

A piece of advice ladies; any strange man you meet is a potential rapist. Reducing yourself to the level of a common prostitute is not going to bring about anything good. Guess these guys forgot that it was her body, her choice.

So ladies, don’t ever talk to guys you don’t know, because they’re probably trying to rape you- and if you prostitute yourself by chatting with them, you’ll be partially to blame if they do. It’s much better to let your father arrange your marriage, because at least then you’ll get raped with God’s blessing.

Well, that was fun! Let’s take a look at some other women and see if we can find a single one for Gavin.

RightWingSparkle is “a political junkie, a reading addict, and a full time volunteer and activist” from Texas. Let’s take a look at her latest post, called “War”:

War.

How many car/suicide bombers have their been since this war started? How anyone kept count?

Brad no know how kept count. Brad only pawn in game of life.

How many warped, brain washed men have strapped bombs to themselves, to women and even to children, and intentionally set out to kill innocent people as well as our military?

I have written many times of my pride in our military. I have written of support of our President in his decision to go to war. But here is something that might surprise you.

I do not believe in war.

That is kind of surprising, since you’re supporting something you don’t even believe in. It’d be like me praising Bush for declaring the Easter Bunny “wanted, dead or alive” (well, OK, I would praise Bush for saying that, but that’s a story for another time).

And I will tell you something else I know. Our soldiers do not believe in war either.

Well, since they’re the ones actually fighting it, I think they’d beg to differ.

Do you not think that unlike the car bombers, who are the macabre and twisted image of our soldiers, that our men and women do not want to come home? Do you not think they do not want to hurt one innocent person? Do you not think they hate this war? They hate this war as much as you and I do.

Oh, OK, I get it now. It’s not that the soldiers don’t believe in war (that’d make them pacifists), they just don’t particularly like it very much.

To which I say, “No shit.”

But wait! It’s about to get really weird, as Sparkle tries to justify the war she doesn’t believe in:

Why Iraq? Why not Iraq?

Yeah, any old country would do. Let’s say, oh… Nepal!

It’s leadership posed the most danger in giving terrorists what they wanted.

You mean they allowed Jihadi Muslims to preach hatred against the West and indoctrinate young men into Wahabbism? Oh wait, that’s Saudi Arabia. Maybe she means they were the closest to developing nuclear weapons? Oh wait, that’d be North Korea. How about their strong connections to bin Laden? Ooop, that looks more like Iran to me.

Sparkle, I think you were better off with your “Why not Iraq?” argument.

Taking down a brutal dictator and infusing democracy was icing on the cake. The infected disease of a warped Islamic belief was spreading in the Middle East, covering the region with the oozing wound of itself. The seemingly unending numbers of car bombers is proof enough of that. How else would we have gone after the terrorists? They lived in no one country.

And because the terrorists don’t live in any one country, it makes sense to plunge all our military resources into one country, reducing our ability to respond to future threats like Iran and North Korea. Brilliant!

Should we have gone into the whole region? Do any of you believe that if we had never invaded Iraq that these men would have lived quiet lives as construction workers or businessmen? Do you believe that they never again would have found their way to our shores? Do you believe that there would never be another 9-11?

I don’t believe in war. But I don’t believe in evil even more.

Makes sense to me.

Finally, let’s check out E. M. Zanotti, a.k.a. The American Princess, and her insightful post on Hillary Clinton:

Hillary Clinton says she is very proud of her country for standing up beside the women of Iraq and Afghanistan: She said it is “absolutely essential to our national security and the furtherance of peace and democracy around the world” for that commitment to continue. “You cannot have democracy if half the people are shut out,” the senator and former first lady said. “You cannot have freedom if half the people are told they are inferior. You cannot have peace when half the people can . . . decide how the other half lives.”

I am sorry, but that is just sick.

Indeed. Women’s rights are icky and gross.

Hillary Clinton is the single largest threat to the actual cause of feminism in this world today.

Huh! Well how about that! I’ll have to let Carey Roberts know he’s been barking up the wrong tree!

She is the single largest thing holding women back from true equality in this world.

Yeah, it isn’t repressive cultural practices like female genital mutilation or honor killings- Hillary’s clearly worse.

It is people like her that threaten the very nature of feminsim. She has no right–no right–to take any kind of credit for the freedom of women in this–or any other country.

Yes, that honor is reserved for the arch-feminist George W. Bush.

Because of Hillary Clinton, young girls believe that they need to be lying, conniving, cheaters and backstabbers to succeed in a man’s world.

And because of the entire Republican Party, so do young boys.

Because of Hillary Clinton’s disgusting liberal policies, she keeps women enslaved to the main of feminazism that have long been dispelled–that women are victims of their own misfortune of being born female–that women must be protected by their government, that they must not demand equal, but that they must demand special treatment from those around them to truly succeed–to truly be considered equal. That they must depend on handouts, on the government, to tell the world that they are just as worthy as anyone.

15408.jpg

Hillary Clinton believes that women have a right to an abortion–to kill their unborn child. No, Hillary, abortion is merely a barbaric practice that enslaves women to the idea that their lives are worth more than the lives of others. Abortion is proof that this society has greatly misstated the needs of women–that it refuses to acknowledge the real problem, and that it refuses to acknowledge the beauty of life in its most precious forms.

And if there’s one thing that demonstrates life’s beauty, it’s a zygote.

By encouraging abortion, you show that women are not worthy of real care from thier government.

But wait, I thought that women weren’t supposed to get care from the government because it encouraged dependence and… oh, I give up…

There should be no reason that a society, or any woman, should have to choose between opportunity and the life of a child. Women turn to abortion in extreme need: American society must see that women are not being served by being given the option to eliminate the life of an unborn child…

Yes, they would be better served by being forced to give birth to a child they don’t want.

She opposed the war in Iraq–a war that freed women from a totalitarian ruler–a ruler that killed hundreds of thousands of people who were someone’s children, and someone’s parent.

Sigh… Sadly, No!

OK, that’s about all I can take. So whaddya think, guys? Which one is the future “Mrs. Gavin M?”

OHHHHHHHHHHH! Bunky wants some attention. *pout*

Making fun of women for their appearance is damn classy of you, Sondra.

A piece of advice ladies; any strange man you meet is a potential rapist.

Jesus. Isn’t this the kind of thinking they’re always castigating feminists for supposedly having?

What’s wrong with making responsible decisions? Keeps you out of trouble.

What’s wrong with making responsible decisions? Keeps you out of trouble.

Nothing. But you didn’t take into account that these assholes might have slipped her a date-rape drug. It happened to one of my friends last year. Thankfully, her friends intervened before anything bad happened.

You might want to think about things like that before you say someone is “partially to blame” for getting raped.

Speaking of judging based on appearance, were I an aspiring wingnut blog-reader, I would take one look at Sondra’s title image and run screaming. First time using photoshop, Sondra?

Wow, This Sondra entity’s page is just so amazingly farked up on so many levels. It’s quite embarassing to see somebody’s neuroses so blatantly, unknowingly displayed – like a drunk telling a joke at a party, oblivous to the large and growing urine stain on his trousers.

Yeah, but she’s a Red Sox fan, so she’s OK in my book, no matter her political beliefs.

Brad, you obviously are unaware of this particular story. If you read MY blog and not the snippet listed here you would know the entire story. She was not slipped a drug, she was a 32 year-old woman that should have known better. I would cut a young woman some slack, but I’ve been 32 and she was mature enough to know better. There were multiple people trying to stop this woman from leaving with these men. You might want to pop over to my blog and read the ENTIRE story.

On Sunday, here in the Denver area, a 32 year-old woman was raped and left by a canal.

Those sexually predatory canals must be stopped before they strike again!!

Syntax, girl. Look it up.

Why Iraq? Why not Iraq?

Woohoo! That’s the girl for me!

Why have a threesome with Gav and my best friend? Why not have a threesome with Gav and my best friend?

I like that reasoning. Not to set up ‘permanent bases,’ of course, but maybe for the quick invasion.

Actually, they all seem like fruitbats. Ah well.

I see ignorance is bliss around here. And awfully boring. Don’t any of you have a sense of humor or any fun? Geeze…no wonder we win (looks AND personalities:). Hate and envy is what makes one ugly 🙂

As for making fun of appearances *ahem* …
nice hit count here…I see the artful design of this non-judgmental blog really has not much to do with content.
Y’all have fun now, today’s attention will wane….like a dog, any attention is good attention. We could have some fun with you guys but *I* have a pedicure sceduled and some homeless people to run over with my Beemer…..

*kisses*
off.

Stacy-
Do you know for certain that they didn’t slip her a drug? No you don’t (or if you do, you didn’t mention it in your initial post). And since you didn’t actually link to the story, we have no way of knowing. (And yes, I know there was no story for you to link to, but that means you don’t know all the facts either- you’re just repeating what you heard from memory.)

Now, based on what I know of the story (which is, as I’ve said, incomplete), it was not wise of the woman to be drinking by herself at a bar.

Does this mean she’s “partially to blame” for being raped? God no. The sole blame for such a heinous crime goes to the people who committed it. No one asks to be raped (unless they’re Alex Ross’ girlfriends, apparently). You are basically blaming the victim, which is something conservatives used to abhor.

Furthermore, does it warrant you calling her, a woman who was just RAPED for Christ’s sake, “a common prostitute?” Please. You have no knowledge of her past sexual behavior and you’re judging her- very, very harshly- based on incomplete information.

Brad…
you’re judging her- very, very harshly- based on incomplete information.

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pot. Kettle. BLACK!!!!!!!!!!
OMFG….
That’s what this whole fricken post is BASED on.
You are hysterical….all of you. Thanks…

*skips off licking lolipop*

Sondra-

I linked to the actual pieces so people could go read them for themselves. I read all the posts in their entirety and concluded that they were extremely silly arguments. And you know what? I was totally right.

For example, let’s take Sparkle’s assertion that “(Iraq’s) leadership posed the most danger in giving terrorists what they wanted.”

Horseshit. Like I said, Iraq wasn’t close to developing nuclear weapons when we invaded, it didn’t support Islamic fundamentalists, and it had far weaker ties to bin Laden than, say, Iran (which is, incidentally, much closer to developing nukes than Iraq was).

And really, some things are so silly that I couldn’t pull them out of context if I tried. Let’s start with:

(Hillary Clinton) is the single largest thing holding women back from true equality in this world.

Do you really expect me to not make fun of that?

And finally, as for this:

http://www.sondrak.com/archive/006728.php

The thing about attacking someone’s appearance isn’t that it’s “wrong” per se (I do it to Carey Roberts every now and then), but it’s very easy- anyone can do it. Being clever involves dissecting words and arguments.

Cavaet- I wrote that Iraq “didn’t support Islamic fundamentalists,” which isn’t true- they did support Hamas. But frankly, so does Saudi Arabia. But that was sloppy on my part.

Even so, Iraq was largely a secular state and didn’t promote the very dangerous brand of Wahabi Islam like the Saudis do. Most of the outsider insurgents in Iraq right now are Wahabis who were trained in Saudi schools.

Brad, I prefer to be cordial. This story was hard to find in the media because of exactly what I stated. I have not updated that piece and I’m moving on. I appreciate the diversity of the blogosphere and your opinion; but I will remain with mine. Same reasons we wear seatbelts, for safety. VV – she was left by a ditch with water, what do you want me to say? Screw syntax.

It’s no wonder that conservative men think women shouldn’t have the vote – good Christ, look at the women they hang around with.

I see ignorance is bliss around here. And awfully boring. Don’t any of you have a sense of humor or any fun?

God, what do we ever do around here but laugh? It’s a constant woo-hoo carnival with showers of confetti and joke-cracking hand puppets, and all of a sudden we’re allegedly the boring, serious kids?

Sondra and Stacy, I don’t want to cut into Brad’s thread here, but I conditionally invite you (pending Brad’s approval, although this was a post to embarrass me by setting me up with a wingnut date — blech!), to see who has the sense of humor — we dancing clowns, or yourselves. A challenge.

Hmmmm.

I think E. M. is the William Faulkner to Swank’s James Joyce.

These poor women. They wallow in their ignorance like 400 lb. sows in septic tank overflow. It’s truly pathetic.

However, the way you describe it, it’s also effin’ hilarious.

Thanks!!!

A westcoast wingnut, prattle division, reporting here.

Brad, sweetcheeks, if a “date-rape” drug had been used, I doubt the fact would have been overlooked in a newscast. 1) Rohypnol renders the victim almost fully unconscious. I suspect the bar patrons, already taken to warning the woman, would have allowed two men to drag an unconscious woman from the bar. 2) It takes 72 hours for the drug to dissipate, and she was found Sunday morning. Testing for “date-rape” drugs is fairly standard part of rape-kits in many localities.

Now, I realize that the differences between the legal and the moral tend to get a bit blurred for many to the left of center so I can understand you just might get confused that Stacy was not advocating the woman’s misjudgment should in anyway ameliorate the legal culpability of the perps.

Let’s now address your diatribe against RWSparkle, based on what you perceive is her hypocrisy in “not believing in war” yet supporting the American efforts in Iraq. Rather than addressing each sophistic point you make let me sum up my position. You may, indeed, have had legitimate arguments against the escalation of a war that had lasted for over 10 years, but once our military engaged the enemy, your arguments are, at best, moot. To continue to argue against the US effort is to support the victory of the Arab/Islamist terrorists against democracy and US military personnel. An immoral position. (BTW the disposition of Saddam has stopped the flow of cash to Arab-Palestinian terrorists. Let’s not hear anymore of the pernicious chatter that Saddam “had no ties to terrorism”)

Finally, when E.M. said Ms. Rodham’s statements “made her sick” it had nothing to do with “women’s rights.”

You knew that, of course.

Sadly Yes, Brad, you seem to be less interested in reasoned debate, or even humor-filled reparte with members of The Cotillion (you can find my entry in this section), then in grinding some axe in compensation for … well, you do help in making perfect sense of this study.

Hysterical Woman

Don’t you know that personal responsblity means you can blame the victim? No, wait, you shouldn’t call a woman that’s been brutally raped by two men a victim. That’s liberal talk!

Hysterical Woman

Oh no, a stupid “Lifestyle” survey done around the office! This will bring the liberals down!Nice that they point out that women fake orgasms more than men. Oh, and more Democrats than Republicans pick their nose!

To continue to argue against the US effort is to support the victory of the Arab/Islamist terrorists against democracy and US military personnel. An immoral position.
Yeah, Brad. We would have already won if it weren’t for you and Newsweek and the liberal media and feminists.

Cotillion Attack! Everyone get ready for a vicious and searing tongue lashing only 13 year-old girls can deliver.

I love the way they all think they’re witty and insightful. Yes, dears…keep telling yourselves that. And I’m sure your mothers think you’re pretty as well.

That Sondra thing is weird. It’s what it would be like if Lynndie England had a blog.

I guess I’m just not cool enough to see the humor in comparing a picture of a constipated Janet Reno to a fully touched up headshot of Janine Turner. If you want to compare apples to apples, put a picture of Barbara Bush’s bug-eyed ass next to Jennifer Granholm.

Alas, such is life.

I just want to point out that the Stacy from this post and comments isn’t me. I’ve posted comments for other posts here, and I don’t think that she and I agree on much of anything.

Jesus. Isn’t this the kind of thinking [all strange men are potential rapists] they’re always castigating feminists for supposedly having?

Yeah, I thought everyone made fun of Andrea Dworkin for that. I should think that labeling all strange men potential rapists would earn one the label of “man-hater.”

How ’bout the men involved in the rape take some “personal reponsibility”? Why is it so often the victim (the victim of a crime, remember) who was supposed to have not done this or to have done that instead? At what point are your decisions bad enough that anyone is allowed to do anything to you, and you’re just told “Well, what did you expect?”

Oh, Sadly, No! is such a boring and humorless website that I can’t believe I visit it every day to laugh at the fisking of the wingnuts. I guess this is more of the post-horsecock-joke talking point that it’s conservatives who are the wacky, fun-loving folks. Heh.

Darleen-
You assume that there’s only one type of date rape drug (i.e., the type that will knock you out right away). You assume poorly. And the reason the “newscast” never mentioned it is because, well, there was no newscast.

Finally, you’re right about my poor cocksmanship informing my political beliefs. I stand in awe of the mighty Republican Freedom Schlong and look at my own puny little Liberal Weenie in despair. Every political stance I take- from being anti-Social Security privatization, to being against torture- is directly related to my bedroom ineptitude.

In fact, I think during every single presidential debate, we should have both candidates whip out their schlongs before the American public. Tim Russert can measure them. The one with the longer penis wins the debate.

You know what this means, guys: Ron Jeremy 2008! All the way, baby!

Ron Jeremy 2008

With Peter North as his Secretary of the, um, Interior.

Taking down a brutal dictator and infusing democracy was icing on the cake. The infected disease of a warped Islamic belief was spreading in the Middle East, covering the region with the oozing wound of itself.

That’s beyond disgusting. The region was covered in an “oozing wound,” but now there’s “icing on the cake.” *gags uncontrollably*

A friend of mine, 33 years old, was raped last year. She woke up in a hotel and only realized that a) she’d been raped and b) she’d been drugged based on the cops’ questions.

Some might say this was her fault for staying behind when her friends left the bar because she didn’t feel like going home just yet and she knew the bartender. Her one mistake was not finishing her drink before she stepped out to the ladies’ room.

Her bartender friend didn’t think anything was amiss because she was conscious the whole time, and she had been chatting up the guy who raped her.

I’m sure one of these wingnuts would hold her responsible for her own rape.

You know, while doubtless thoroughly scientific, there’s something just a little counter-intuitive about the poll linked to by Darleen. The Republican base consists of large numbers of fundamentalist types who, if they’re to be believed, regard sex as primarily procreative, and if they’re single, to be eschewed altogether. So, presumably, you had a non-trivial number of respondents who are getting laid rarely, if ever, proclaiming that they’re satisfied with their sex lives. Either this is the epitome of the flaccid, er, soft bigotry of low expections, or you got a bunch of dudes trolling chatrooms for teenagers (boys & girls) while their ladies are purchasing batteries by the trunkload.

As for the devastating juxta-collage posted by Sandra (is she gone yet?), sure it’s unfair, comparing inopportune photos of old ladies to airbrushed ones of the most photogenic wingnuttesses. But I have to admit those ladies (except Coulter, she’s a dude) are pretty damn fuckable. Especially Laura Bush, who has always struck me as having the look of someone whose husband hasn’t taken care of business since he stopped doing coke. Maybe it’s the boozing that destroyed his hydraulics, or the mood-leveling pills he’s taking now, but my best guess is that he’s been too busy fucking the country. (Hattip to the Woodman.)

The Republican base consists of large numbers of fundamentalist types who, if they’re to be believed, regard sex as primarily procreative, and if they’re single, to be eschewed altogether.

The key is “if they’re to be believed.” Remember, these are the “Do as I say, not as I do” and “IOIYAR” people.

Socraticsilence

Sondra,
All I’m going to say about the looks thing is wow! well, no I’m actually going to argue it, okay one side is glamour shots and the ohter is the least flattering pictures possible. Then we get to the whole comparing apples and organes thing, one side is pictured with people who have actally acclompished something (with the excpetion of Streisand and Mrs. Kerry) the other side is without exception pundits (with the exception of Laura in perhaps the one photo you will ever find of her not appearing to be in a chemically induced stupor). If were going to compare wives lets get serious where’s the ugly hag who birthed Dubya. Let’s be honest here the only reason the vast majority of the pundit class you listed is there on the republican side is looks, while those on the democratic side made it far and away on academic merit. Do you really wnat to bring up female Republican pundits who didn’t make it on looks (though they may have made it on tokenism) because if you do, all you really have left is founding anti-feminist Phyllis Schflay and gossipy bitch Lucianne Goldberg, a pair which let’s face aren’t exactly going to win you any beauty pagents.
Now if we want to go straight celeb with it then bring it I mean we have all the hotties (good I fell like a jackass for even using that term but it fits in the context)

Gee, I said I was staying out, oh well. Was she a victim? Oh yea. I was simply stating that quite often our safety is in our own hands. A large portion of us watch what we eat, exercise, see our doctor, all for preventative measures. Why is it though that when it comes to social issues so many choose to toss aside common sense and not think it through? Why must everyone play the victim card? I have made my fair share of mistakes in my life and am fortunate that no one was ever hurt. I have had a friend that was raped so I understand the anguish involved with it. But all should reach a point in their lives that they are capable of understanding the consequences of their actions.
