I mean it is not a new development, and attempts have been made to obfuscate that tender mercy, but nonetheless we are watching it unfold before us with a rapidity and force that should shiver any logistical timbers…
It would seem that we have been more than a bit alarmed by the developments of the ridiculousness on display, as well as a bit afeared at what has become of this land we inhabit.
In any event, for those that enjoy the continuation of this space, thank you for putting up with the decline….

I’m glad weed is working for you. There have been times recently when I’ve thought “I’m glad I’m not smoking weed because I’d hurt myself laughing.” Pretty much every day, I’m glad I’m not drinking because the current morning hangovers from reading the news are bad enough.
I’m not sure if the world has always been like this and I just wasn’t paying attention or if it’s really changed and things used to be better. I tell my kids “It hasn’t always been like this.” and they just look at me funny.

Goldberg’s still employed, in deed, in charge, and he’s worse than Williamson. How is is possible that Goldberg is in charge? Has no one read his work? Goldberg’s been wrong, just dead wrong, about all kinds of big-picture stuff, stuff that he’s supposedly an expert on, throughout his career. Not just wrong here and there in the details of little articles, he’s outright wrong top to bottom in the articles that he lists as his major work. (Williamson’s fact-deprived as well. Try fact checking his White Appalachia article. He’s mean, stupid, and just plain wrong.) I mean, yeah, sure Williamson said some really stupid shit but that’s the least of the problems sitting right there in front of us. I guess I’m happy that Williamson got fired but the bigger issue is: Why does he have any career at all? I can see publishing him once a month in the letters section of what’s left of the Mobile, Al newspaper but . . . beyond that, he doesn’t deserve an audience. And I know I’m repeating myself and being redundant again and again but: Goldberg’s worse.
