Shorter Entire Right-Wing Blogosphere

Hate Scott McClellan Hate Hate

  • At the moment, the fault for any given thing rests with Scott DISLOYAL INCOMPETENT SNITCH McClellan, as we have known all along.

‘Shorter’ concept created by Daniel Davies and perfected by Elton Beard.

Bonus Shorter Newsbusters:

  • It is biased that the liberal media ignores books that contain no startling disclosures.

Bonus Shorter Gateway Pundit:

  • Worm. Snitch. Oh yeah, that’s a good one: For some reason the liberal media ignores books that, uh, like Newsbusters said.

Above: Scott Johnson, John Hinderaker, Paul Mirengoff

Bonus Powerline primate-behavior moment, featuring while-you-watch rationalization and social construction of reality:

Is this book really necessary?

When Scott McClellan was the president’s press secretary, I usually winced when I heard him speak. The wincing finally ended when Tony Snow replaced McClellan.

Now, with the publication of his new book, we get the chance to wince once more. It’s an opportunity I intend to pass up.

Paul is offering as a new piece of information that he did not enjoy watching McClellan perform his duties as Press Secretary. For that reason, he is saying, there is liable to be nothing greatly of interest to him in McClellan’s book.

It will be interesting, though, to compare the degree to which the MSM reviews and reports on McClellan’s book with the negligible extent to which it has reviewed and reported on Douglas Feith’s inside look at the conduct of the war on terrorism during the first Bush 43 administration.

Continuing, Paul suggests that the ‘mainstream media’ is likely to give greater coverage to McClellan’s presumably uninteresting book than to a book by neoconservative Iraq War architect Doulas Feith, which Paul considers to be interesting but insufficiently covered. The implicit reason for this is that the ‘mainstream media’ is biased against official statements and therefore reality.

JOHN adds: McClellan was a lousy press secretary. A much better spokesman, Tony Snow, once told me that the best thing about his job was the opportunity to follow President Bush around and observe his conduct of the Presidency. Tony said…

Here John also reveals a heretofore-unvoiced disapproval of McClellan’s competency — one stronger and more direct than Paul’s, as befits John’s status as the Alpha Powerliner. He then establishes expert knowledge of the subject by reporting an anecdote told personally to himself by Tony Snow, possibly on Friday, September 14, 2007, during the part of a day in which he visited the White House as part of a group of Bush-friendly bloggers. His claimed insider status is underlined with locutions such as “Tony says.”

…that he came away with a deep appreciation of President Bush’s character, judgment and knowledge of the issues. Unless McClellan can come up with some facts to back up his claims–

John is asserting that Tony Snow’s official praise of President Bush while on duty as Press Secretary, told to John in personal conversation, stands as ‘facts’ against which other more compelling facts must be presented if any credence is to be given to the ‘claims’ made by McClellan in his book which John has not read.

facts have been notably absent from the press accounts I’ve seen of his book–I think Tony’s assessment is considerably more reliable.

John has thus fairly judged the matter and found that no change is required from his prior authoritative position regarding President Bush.

PAUL adds: McClellan’s predecessor as press secretary, the far more able Ari Fleischer, wrote a book about his time in the post. Rich Noyes at Newsbusters reminds us that Fleischer’s book went virtually unnoticed by the MSM.

Paul, the Beta male, seconds John’s assessment and offers a helpful piece of additional confirmation, signaling unanimity amongst the clan.

I love the notion that people here get the photo joke.

MileHi Hawkeye

Hate–it’s what they do best.

I also have no startling disclosures to make about my job, and as of yet none of the cowardly liberal bias media invites me on. And I do not wear Israel-hating donut scarves either!

For some reason the “liberal media” continue to ignore the NYT’s pentagon propaganda story.

WordPress treats me just like Stalin treated Nikolai Ivanovich Yezhov.

In retrospect, McClelland played like a cheat who wanted to get caught. The motherfucker stood up there for 3 years telling the choicest of lies, Iraq, Plame, the economy, etc. Lie, lie, lie.

And he kept waiting.

Then he’d lie some more.

And still no one ever called him on it.

Finally he quit, wrote his book and finally lashed out at those who wouldn’t give him the satisfaction: Why the FUCK Didn’t Youse Guys Say Nothin’?

Today, I hate McClelland a little less than I did yesterday and he made me feel something I thought impossible — pity for a Bush flunkie. He also managed the neat trick of making the media look worse than a shill.

RWB: He was outta da loop!

US: The Press Secratary was out of the loop?

RWB: Well, no. YES! Um, yeah, well, on the shit where he says he was in the loop he was outta the loop. It’s only on the things he says he was OUT of the loop that he was in the loop. Y’know?

US: Um, no. Can you be more specific?

RWB: I’m puzzled. That is not the Scottie-pants we knew. He used to be so CUTE, skipping around the rose garden, riding his scooter, er, ok, bad choice, SKATEBOARD, yeah, his skateboard around the south lawn. I just don’t recognize this disgruntled, angry piece of commie shit that used to be Scott McClelland.

Little known fact: The real original of that photo shows a banner stretching across the river that reads “The purge is working.”

The worm turns.

I’m just happy for all those little insane right wing scamps they’re getting practice dealing with turncoats now, and with such a relatively easy target.
Cuz in 236 days, after Cheney n Bush have no authority or real ability to make apostates pay for their sins…. holy shit.

Israel-hating donut scarf

You know you want me.

Does anyone mind if I re-use my joke about “shits leaving a sinking rap”?

Shorter Scottie: My job was to lie to you, yours to catch me. I did mine, how come you didn’t do yours?

Does anyone mind if I re-use my joke about “shits leaving a sinking rap”?

Can I repost that youtube I overposted? (Also, can somebody remind me which one it was?)

Right wing epistemology:

I don’t accept that an individual like Scott McClellan can serve as an eyewitness for what he himself did, there must be corroborating evidence.

On the other hand, here is a guy who says Barack Obama is a Muslim. We should listen carefully to him.

Isn’t Press Secretary old-fashioned and sexist? Shouldn’t we be calling him the Press Administrative Assistant?

Oh, that reminds me…. never become elected to the central committee. Only bad things happen to you.

New rightwing scandal brewing: Fidel Castro says he feels no resentment toward Barack Obama.

That means, obviously, that he loves Barack Obama and Obama wants to surrender to Fidel Castro and have his Kenyo-Cubo-Communist-Muslim babies.

El Cid… I like this part the best.
JOHN adds: McClellan was a lousy press secretary. A much better spokesman, Tony Snow, once told me that the best thing about his job was the opportunity to follow President Bush around and observe his conduct of the Presidency. Tony said that he came away with a deep appreciation of President Bush’s character, judgment and knowledge of the issues. Unless McClellan can come up with some facts to back up his claims–facts have been notably absent from the press accounts I’ve seen of his book–I think Tony’s assessment is considerably more reliable.

IOW – Tony Snow is more believable because he appreciates Bush’s character. McLellan, who does not appreciate Bush, will have to provide facts. Facts, therefore, are tertiary arguments. A much better argument would be for McLellan to say that Bush did everything right, because that is the most powerful argument of all.

Reposted from The Poor Man Institute, for I am shameless like that —
I eagerly await Mickey Kaus’ tell-all memoir, “My Life in the Bush of Goats”.

I feel the need to fadge.

This book might do some good. McLellan is saying to the press: yes I served up great gobs of truthiness, lies and spin – that was my job – but you guys, it wasn’t your job to just swallow everything. What happened there?

The MSM has been exposed from a different angle. It won’t be so easy to go on lollipopping the administration now.

Strange Forces

Smut Clyde with the Eno-Byrne reference.

Well done, sir.

(Unless you were referencing the novel, which I never read. Still, well done.)

Aach!

PS beat me. I’m slow.

SLOW!!

I love it how they amange to throw in fawning mentions to Tony Snow into their verbal daggers . Now there’ds a guy who’ll keep the lies up even when the air is turning to lead!

Innocent Bystander

It’s not often that we have a book published where the author indicts himself, the administration, and those tasked with informing the American people. No wonder the unpaid apologists in the Right Innertubes, who have faithfully eaten every milligram of bullshit this selected administration (including Scotty) has fed them, must now destroy another insider who threatens to break their cocoon of voluntary self-deception. Sucks to be them.

Can I repost that youtube I overposted? (Also, can somebody remind me which one it was?)
Did it involve sheep? Or dirty deeds?

I should have saved the “Bush of Goats” joke for the next thread actually on the topic of Kaus and / or goat-related activities, but I don’t do deferred gratification.

I’m guessing Scotty won’t be getting a get-out-of-jail-free card when W leaves office.

Paul, the Beta male, seconds John’s assessment and offers a helpful piece of additional confirmation, signaling unanimity amongst the clan.

Yes, but did Paul add “y’all” when he seconded it? That’s the giveaway, if y’all recall.

>Scott McClellan was good. He has gone off-message. Scott is now bad (and we now know that he was really always bad, even back when he was good).

>Ari Fleischer and Tony Snow were good. They have not gone off-message. Ari and Tony are still good.

>Of course, if Ari and Tony ever do go off message they too will become bad.

You almost have to admire the reassuring simplicity of the world the wingnuts inhabit… well, maybe not.

Who’s that guy in the picture? Never saw him before. Can I haz donut?

Comrade Yezhov

Are there any openings in Homeland Security? I’m between jobs right now, and believe me, when it comes to Homeland Security, fucking Chertoff ain’t got nothing on me. Neither does that wimp Beria, for that matter.

he loves Barack Obama and Obama wants to surrender to Fidel Castro and have his Kenyo-Cubo-Communist-Muslim babies

That is so HOT! You know it’s really love when he doesn’t gaybort them.

Before he starts addressing presidential candidates, Fidel Castro needs to be defaced and auctioned off on EBAy.

I have to wonder–if Bush himself wrote a tell-all book, confessing that he lied about everything and was the most incompetent president ever, how would the right-wing blogosphere rationalize it?

If at the time he was enabling this unspeakable administration and its loathesome evil policies, Scotty had chosen to discard the stoic autopilot liar persona and say, “Look, you know I’m full of shit. I know I’m full of shit. We ALL know this president is full of shit. I’m lying to you; you know it, I know it. These creeps are the WORST, and I’m done. I’d like to be able to sleep at night for a change, so I’m outa here.” THEN maybe I’d have a shred of interest in hearing him, way too late, tell us, for $26.95 or whatever a pop, what we all knew then but he was too chickenshit to admit, when it might have done a modicum of good. Now? He’s just another in a long long line of ex-fuckbags who expect to extend their reprehensible 15 minutes and get paid in the bargain. Instead of doing something to try to call the clusterfuck what it was, he chose to lie and then cash in. Fuck him, fuck all of ’em and fuck the horses they rode in from Texas on.

I have to wonder–if Bush himself wrote a tell-all book, confessing that he lied about everything and was the most incompetent president ever, how would the right-wing blogosphere rationalize it?

Perhaps Bush the person would become bad, but the imaginary Great Leader Bush they have in their minds would remain pure and good, untainted by the failings of any mere mortal.

Hey… maybe we can get some kind of organized religion thing going here. Where’s Joseph Smith when you need him?

MzNicky, I agree 100%, and I frankly don’t blame the rightwingers for hating the guy. Who likes a turncoat?

That said, I also can’t say that I’m not enjoying it. Is there a precedent for a former press secretary (i.e., Chief Propagandist) coming out against his former boss while he’s still in office? And admitting pretty much everything he said on his behalf was bullshit?

Dear Wingnut-o-sphere:

Scotty will be appearing tomorrow evening, May 29, 2008, on Keith Olbermann’s program.

That is all.

p.s. LOLZ!!!!11121sevent33n!!

I have to wonder–if Bush himself wrote a tell-all book, confessing that he lied about everything and was the most incompetent president ever, how would the right-wing blogosphere rationalize it?

The Bush was liberal all along, and he disappears just like Comrade Nikolai in the photo above.

Hey… maybe we can get some kind of organized religion thing going here.

Call him Ishmea culpa.

He’s just another in a long long line of ex-fuckbags who expect to extend their reprehensible 15 minutes and get paid in the bargain.

I’m glad when these guys come out with memoirs. I’d love to know how this administration functioned – how and why it came up with it’s long string of weird-ass policies, who was responsible for what, what the major players were trying to achieve, and so on. At this point I really don’t know. They’ve been incredibly secretive, but the administration’s massive failure means that most of these jerks will feel compelled to justify themselves by publishing their version of events. In time it’ll become possible to piece together how this train wreck happened.

But I’m interested because I’m curious about the history of it. I have little or no sympathy for the individuals involved

If he was boning Jeff Gannon I suppose we’ll find out soon.

There’s a lot of suspects for those sleepovers.

Funny that teh press had no interest.

Tony Snow is a Freeper. An admitted Freeper, even. That’s all I need to know.

Is it too much to hope that the wingnuts going to force themselves to watch Olbermann in order to evaluate Scotty’s statements? cuz that would be awesome.

If he was boning Jeff Gannon I suppose we’ll find out soon.

I have a feeling that kind of exposé is going to have to wait until after Li’l Boots doesn’t have the power to disappear people anymore.

Here’s what I’m hoping, though I know it will never happen: That McClellan’s tell-all will somehow contain the pointers to evidence that cannot be dismissed, and that ends up with Cheney in the dock in The Hague.

“…and that ends up with Cheney in the dock in The Hague.”

Hey, that reminds me of a terrific song – kind of soulful-like:

Sittin’ in the mornin’ sun
I’ll be sittin’ when the evenin’ come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch ’em roll away again, yeah

I’m sittin’ in the dock at the Hague
Watching my chances roll away
Ooo, I’m just sittin’ in the dock at the Hague
Wastin’ time

You know the rest…

he loves Barack Obama and Obama wants to surrender to Fidel Castro and have his Kenyo-Cubo-Communist-Muslim babies

Yeah, well wait until Hillary lets it slip to the press that Barack Obama likes to collect the eggs of virgin white women in a jar and spread them on his crackers.

i thought the whole bit about the White House manipulating ‘sources of public opinion’ meant that these guys were just tools. the question is, do they now it or are they just stupid?

10,000 Perverts Who Have Otherwise Exhausted the Internet's Resources

… during the first Bush 43 administration …
This is, on several levels, a massively stupid construction:
a) by calling it the “first Bush 43 administration,” he guarantees that he will contradict himself – 43 denotes Chimpy’s place in the numerical order of American presidents, and there can only ever be 1 No. 43 in that list;

b) McClellan served as press secretary from 2003-2006 (and was, I believe, in the press office from the beginning of the administration); Feith served as Under SecDef from 2001-2005 – both lasted through Chimpy’s first term and into his second term, and to the degree that this chump is accusing the McClellan chump of being an ignorant chump, it’s unfounded; and

c) presumably, what he really means is Bush’s first “term” – but it requires a certain tone-deaf stupidity to confuse “term” and “administration”; and as far as our Constitution is concerned, there can be only 1 Chimpy administration.

If Scott McClellan had such a big problem with what the Bush Jr. administration was telling him to do, he should have quit long before they ever asked him to do those things. The fact that he did not means that those things did not happen, and we should listen to people like Tony Snow who tell the truth by appreciating Bush Jr.

This is clasic:
Q Do you anticipate doing sort of a line-by-line denial of or go through —

MS. PERINO: I don’t think it’s necessary to do that for this situation. You know, you can go through that, look at it yourself. I don’t think it’s the White House’s responsibility to do a fact check of someone’s memoirs, where they’re rewriting what we all thought was a very different history with him at the White House.

dipsy-doo-dee-dat…

Q If only to change the subject. Do you have anything on the vote on the cluster munitions?

MS. PERINO: The what?

Q The vote on the cluster munitions negotiations in Brussels, I think.

MS. PERINO: Where was — no, I’m sorry. Clearly, you can tell from my face I don’t know. I haven’t been informed about that.

Q Anything on —

MS. PERINO: Where was the vote?

Q What?

MS. PERINO: Where was the vote?

Q It was today, and it was in — I want to say Brussels, maybe The Hague.

MS. PERINO: Sorry, I don’t. I’ll have to refer you to DOD or State at the moment.

I for one am eagerly awaiting Ms. Perino’s tell-all memoir, where she will tell us how the President shouldn’t have lied about Mr. McClellan’s memoir and how uncomfortable she felt dissing Mr. McClellan…

Yeah, well wait until Hillary lets it slip to the press that Barack Obama likes to collect the eggs of virgin white women in a jar and spread them on his crackers.

That would be hardworking virgin white women.

I have to wonder–if Bush himself wrote a tell-all book, confessing that he lied about everything and was the most incompetent president ever, how would the right-wing blogosphere rationalize it?

The fReichtards would point out, proudly, that Dubya is barely capable of reading a whole book, much less writing one. Therefore, the “autobiography” entitled YOU ALL KNEW I WAS A MALIGNANT MORON WHEN YOU ELECTED ME will be proclaimed a vicious fabrication of the lie-brul media. Or else it will prove that the Malignant Moron was a “manchurian candidate” created by… you guessed it!… the lie-brul media and the DFHs, in our neverending jihad to discredit Godly Amurkin Conservativism by any means necessary.

In any case, YAKIWAMMWYEM will be a bad thing for the Democrats. Indeed, this will be central to their cause, err, case.

YAKIWAMMWYEM only proves that Bush Jr. was never truly committed to Bush Jr’s agenda and was a mole in the Bush Jr. administration who served to undermine the true Bush Jr. agenda, mainly by making the Bush Jr. policies look stupid and crazy by implementing them.

RWB: We have always been at war with McClellan!!1!!MCXI!!

I gotta say, those Soviet photo editors were pretty damn good. No PhotoShop, and it still looked legit.

Srsly, though, Snorhagen and the others are correct — we need to take all the testimony these miserable sniveling fourth- & fifth-echelon crapweasels churn out in defence of their own indefensibility before a Truth & Reconciliation Committee. Then we can start tweezing out a coherent narrative history of the last eight or ten or thirty years, going back to when the fourth-echelon Watergate crapweasels like Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld decided that the lesson behind Nixon’s Tragedy was not “Don’t be evil traitors to the Constitution” but “Don’t get caught when you decide to use the Bill of Rights as toilet paper.”

If we don’t keep pushing such a Truth *then* Reconciliation Committee, 30 years from now our grandkids will be crippling themselves cleaning up after President Jenna and VP Mary Cheney… if we’re lucky.

This administration & this war will be the long-term project of the right to rehabilitate as legend and blame all failures on teh libruls, just like it was their goal with Nixon and, more importantly, the U.S. war on Indochina. Reagan’s little wars, direct and indirect, were there to help lead us up to Gulf War 1, which finally ‘cured’ us of the ‘Vietnam syndrome,’ and Gulf War 1 was there to lead us up to Gulf War 2, which, ironically enough, may help rid us of the Reaganism which brought us here in the first place.

What I’m wondering is, with all the redacting they do of any book a former member of this administration wants to do, how did any truth make it into McClellan’s book? Or should I say, how did any remain in it?

As the Great Stalin reminds us, “Those who are not with us are against us.”

Bush Jr. was never truly committed to Bush Jr’s agenda and was a mole in the Bush Jr. administration who served to undermine the true Bush Jr. agenda, mainly by making the Bush Jr. policies look stupid and crazy by implementing them.

As illustrated by this classic.

A-L, continuing with the seriousness, I’ve been thinking about the same. There are three stages that one can contemplate:

1. Purge. This seems like a no-brainer, you need to clean-up the government structures of all these frauds, hacks, and morons – put there for their loyal Bushiness – so that the country can function.
Yet, it is laborious! It’s not like people wear giant “I am an incompetent Bushie” signs around their necks. There were appointments that were legit, unquestionably, it will take effort to sort it out.

2. Process and Justice. If step One was laborious, Step Two is a nightmare. How do you dig up all the evidence? How deep you go in the apparatus? How do you deal with all the screams of “persecution!” and “McCarty-ism” and the related psychodrama that will inevitably ensue? This country likes to thrive on forward-looking optimism not on digging through the dirty underwear from yesteryear. Yet, I agree with you, this IS a necessary step, but NOT for the reasons you describe.
This is such an unprecedently bitter and angry time in America that if the next Administration does not sort this out, I am afraid that Step Three will become a reality.

3. Angry mob justice, where Republicans, CEOs, financial managers and the likes are publicly beheaded and dragged through the streets, and the next President is someone like the guy with the mustache in the picture above and the whole cycle begins anew…

MS. PERINO: Where was the vote?

Q It was today, and it was in — I want to say Brussels, maybe The Hague.

Actually it was Dublin.

This little exchange says so much about what the media itself gets out of the Cheney/Bush administration’s vision of post-totalitarian information control. It makes life so much easier. Nobody needs to know anything but what the Dear Leader says.

You don’t know the difference between the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Bay of Pigs? Well we have no idea where a major diplomatic meeting is taking place (though we could guess that it’s in one of those smallish Euro cities that does international-related things). Oh, to heck with it. What do you want us to print?

Isn’t the next logical step to p-shop Scottie into the photo so that the wingnuts can claim OMG McClellan was a Stalin-o-Islamic plant! The fact that he’s working with Stalin is evidence that he’s a moonbat hippie.

Owing to his lack of basic courtesy, TBogg has looked up earlier Powerline characterisations of the unperson-previously-known-as-Scott-McClellan:

Scott McClellan resigned as White House press secretary this morning. I think McClellan has done a capable job, and it’s probably wishful thinking to imagine that the President would appoint someone who would take a more combative attitude toward the White House press corps. To be fair, McClellan has sometimes pushed back. But I think there is a lot of room to take a more aggressive approach.

It doesn’t even make fucking sense. “Tony’s assessment” relates to his own experience of meeting Bush, and therefore has nothing to do with what McLellan is talking about. I don’t imagine Scotty wrote anything about Tony Snow’s experience of meeting Bush.

A steaming log of non-sequiturial stupid, knowingly hurled in the hope that no one will notice or bother to complain. IOW, Wingnut Debating Techniques 101.

I gotta say, those Soviet photo editors were pretty damn good. No PhotoShop, and it still looked legit.

And here I thought it just meant Stalin pushed him into the river.
You know, like Bush would do – he’d call him Yekky Yezhov and push him in, and the press corps would laugh and laugh and laugh.

In Soviet Russia, river pushes into you!

There are several important differences between Scott McClellan and Nikolai Yezhov, however, and one of them was that Stalin was smart enough to have Yezhov shot before he could write a book. Oh yeah, and Scott is a little taller than Yezhov.

Krassen notes:

Q If only to change the subject. Do you have anything on the vote on the cluster munitions?

MS. PERINO: The what?

I fucking love this. This is what the press should do from now on, only instead of asking her about real things she doesn’t know about, MAKE IT UP. Thus:

Q: Has there been any update on the Hypnosis Squad?

MS. PERINO: The what?

Q: The Hypnosis Squad. Has it been funded?

MS. PERINO: I’m sorry–what–?

Q: The team of trained hypnotists Secretary Rice plans to send into the West Bank to restore peace.

(etc.)

One after another. Let’s see her keep her Icy Blonde Cool ™ then.

Oh, yeah, and: RICH NOYES? Is that from Scripture? “Make a rich noyes unto the Lord, all ye lands”?

I gotta say, those Soviet photo editors were pretty damn good. No PhotoShop, and it still looked legit.

Not only that, they made Stalin look taller, younger, and slimmer while they were at it.

You really gotta appreciate propaganda that goes that extra mile.

I’ve Got on Hand on my Bible/the other on My Gun

Dr BLT

words and music by Dr BLT © 2008

I got one hand on my Bible
the other on my gun
you say that I’ve been bitter
so you’d best be on the run
no, don’t you test my patience
’cause my patience is nearly done
I got one hand on my Bible
The other on my gun

I got one foot on your grave stone
the other on the ground
I’m rooted in the music of the Bakersfield Sound
and when you step upon this soil
well, at best, you’ll soon be shunned
I got one hand on my Bible
the other on my gun

I’m bitter as the blues
bitter as the soles beneath
these beat up cowboy boots
you know where I came from
all we see’s the settin’ sun
I’m bitter as the blues
bitter as the soles beneath
my bitter cowboy boots
I got one hand on my Bible
the other on my gun

I got one hand on my Bible…
the other, on my gun

Good points, but make it more generally

It’s too late this time around because the songs already been recorded, but I’ll try to be more general next time around.
