Kickin’:
Memo to Ronald D. Moore: I’m a big, big fan of your show. Wanna buy some ad space on our site?
(Of course, I’ve already technically given you free advertising by posting this video. Oh well. Can’t wait for BSG to start up again.)
violence sells
BSG is better than just about any other show other than Lost. Trus’ me. It’s very well done.
I keep hearing people talking about this show (and several others) but I’ve never seen it, don’t even know what network it’s on. The HBO has spoiled me.
Best non-BBC or HBO series on television. (Tis on Sci-Fi, Jennifer.)
April 4th, premier of the final season. I’m putting smart money on Tye and Apollo finding each other wrapped int heir passionate, homosexual arms.
Or that’s what I tell my friends when i want to creep her out.
http://www.scifi.com/battlestar I think they’re still running the well-done recap vid.
there hasn’t been a good science fiction show since “Lost in Space” got canceled.
Place your bets! Who is the 12th Cylon?
My money is on the Admiral. Starbuck is too obvious.
Unfortunately, I lack the attention span for episodic TV.
But I feel your intensity, Bradrocket.
I can fully accept this is some seriously good shit…
mikey
Science fiction is gay, all real men watch documentaries on the History Channel and Discovery Channel. Only liberals like Science fiction.
mikey, even if you don’t want to get into a long episodic series, I highly recommend you download the regular series first episode, entitled “33.”
It’s a fairly standalone episode. All you need to know is that the last survivors of humanity are being chased by the robots who killed the rest. The man who seems to be crazy was indirectly responsible for leaving the humans defenseless.
I think you’d dig it.
12? I think it is the guy who played Badger on Firefly- you know the lawyer that helped with Baltar’s defence.
Good call on “33,” Jrod. That was the episode that got me hooked on the show, actually.
Oh God I can’t wait for April 4th…
YOU’RE GAY!
Unfortunately, I lack the attention span for episodic TV.
Try doing what I do: rent ’em on DVD, then watch them all in a single day.
I’ll be tuning in to BSG’s finale. Hope it lives up to previous seasons.
I’m still waiting for Deadwood’s final episode.
As for Lost, get to the point already!
I lost interest in Lost last season but started watching again this season and it is definitely worth it.
I just hope they don’t go through with this crappy plan to split the season in two and show the 2nd part next year. We just can’t wait another 8 months or so like this time to see the conclusion!
Unfortunately, I lack the attention span for episodic TV.
At least treat yourself to the pleasure of watching the “Mini-Series”. It’s basically 2 pilot episodes, about 3 hours runtime, that got em the order for the first season. That gets everyone hooked.
I actuall never saw the miniseries. I caught the very end of it when it was on the networks. I bought the season 1 DVD set, but it turned out i got the “bullshit steal your money” version, so it didn’t have the mini series or any bonus material.
I like the late night cable TV ads for party lines. Pretty chicks with comically bad boob jobs crammed into a push-up bra a cup size too small. Good times.
Question to the BSG fans – Is BSG: Razor worth a rental?
As for BSG itself, I’ve not found it’s equal. “Firefly” was close, but not quite there.
Yeah, it’s worth a rental. It’s hardly needed to follow the story, as it’s basically showing a story that we were already told, but it’s good to see Admiral Cain again.
I’m still disappointed she was killed off so soon, though I can understand why it had to happen. If Cain hadn’t died she would have taken out the Adamas and the President eventually. It’s not like she was going to come around to their religious quest, she was solely focused on killing as many Cylons as she could before they finally took out her ship.
Honestly, I thought it was way out of character that she didn’t go through with her plan to assassinate Adama. The only thing I can figure is that she somehow knew that Adama had called off his plan to assassinate her. I suppose you could make a case that she simply decided that Adama was more valuable alive than dead after their big victory over those two basestars that had been chasing Galactica for the whole series up to that point, but I don’t buy it.
Jrod – I think that was *exactly* it. Cain was a realist if nothing else and quickly came to the conclusion that Adama was of more use (at least for the time being) alive than dead. I don’t doubt that it could have / would have changed in the future.
I am so not watching that preview. I have the whole thing on disk and have been meaning to watch it. I got about five episodes in, and it seems to be taking its time getting awesome. I gather it gets there, but I sort of wish it gelled a bit quicker. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s pretty cool, bit it hasn’t planted my ass for a marathon viewing yet.
Clearly, I need to watch them soon, as the new season approaches. No time like the present, I suppose. I have no cable, and the best thing on air right now is The Ten Commandments. “Where’s your Moses now, see?” /EddieG.
I love the fact that Yul Brynner got to say the line “Moses, Moses, Moses” in two completely different movies.
Jrod, I think Cain realized that she would spark a full-scale mutiny if she went through with it. Then again, it’s been since last fall since I watched Razor, so I could be completely off base.
OT – (prepare yourselves)
It’s Raining McCain
Ok, sorry about that. Now back to the awesomeness of BSG.
Defenseless Humans might be a great band name, which brings me to my point; humanity has two major problems. One is, they do what they are told; the other is, they don’t do what they are told.
Hey! Get high, NOW off your own p00!
JENKEM!

Y’know, one of those chicks was “Kate” from Lost.
I am so HIGH on JENKEM!!!!!!
High on fermented poo!
Shhh. I haven’t had cable for years and just saw the first two discs of Season 3 on DVD. I really am astounded at how much I like this show.
Women being knocked around. Oh boy.
Wow, Hattie has us figured. We only like BSG because of the violence against women, who all of us hate.
Fuck you, Hattie. Go away.
Really. Just testing.
Sorry, that’s all I’m saying.
Or can I?
I can post!
