Ain’t A Hope In Hell; Nothing’s Gonna Bring Us Down…
Posted on February 13th, 2008 by Gavin M.
I’m sorry, but indeed, it is Obama, Obama (yeah-yeah-yow). And there is, in fact, a hope in Hell for all of us, including those in the Hil camp.
Above: Okay, yes, ‘the black-death-rising’ part is still a bit much…
But not a hope for them, sweet Jesus, not for those mortgaged souls.
Shorter doughbob: An Obama presidential victory would make it okay for us to go back to pimping “The Bell Curve.” I, for one, think it’s about time.
That ain’t mortgaged, that’s sold outright. Can’t wait until the new owner hauls it off to the universe’s biggest BBQ pit.
Lemmy rules, all others drool!!
Noticed this yesterday when I read Loadpants in the L. A. Fishwrapper:
An excellent question, which J. G. should ask of himself after typing anything, including his list of junkfood to be purchased by the wife.
So, there tends to be less social trust in huge, overcrowded cities? Get the fuck out!
No. No more Jonah for me. No, thank you. Really, I’ve had quite enough, though I thank you for your generosity in offering me more. I am really quite finished with all the Jonah on my plate and I couldn’t swallow another bite. But thank you very much for the offer.
Now, I need to purge, could you point me in the direction of the restroom?
Oh God, here it comes. Get ready for months of “Yeah, Obama’s articulate and all, but deep down, nobody really likes a black guy.”
I’m surprised, though, that he managed to get through the whole article without bringing up Obama’s obvious fascism.
Oh, and as for Obama, I’ve been somewhat resistant to the personality cult (we’ve had quite enough of that for the past 8 years, thanks), but he is starting to sound the right economic notes. Reading previews of today’s big economic speech, much of it seems to be cribbed directly from John Edwards, which would be no bad thing.
“It seems that Barack Obama can win blacks and that he can win whites; where he has trouble, electorally speaking, is winning blacks and whites.”
So Obama can win blacks and whites, but can he win blacks and whites? IT IS A MYSTERY!
for a guy living in the LA metroplex, Jonah sure is tone-deaf to how he sounds to other people.
for a guy living in the LA metroplex, Jonah sure is tone-deaf to how he sounds to other people.
I dunno thats pretty common in LA if I remember correctly.
“It seems that Barack Obama can win blacks and that he can win whites; where he has trouble, electorally speaking, is winning blacks and whites.”
So Obama can win blacks and whites, but can he win blacks and whites? IT IS A MYSTERY!
This is no real mystery. Since it doesn’t make any fuckin’ sense in the first place, it simply cannot be mysterious.
Goldberg:
Ignore Georgia, Virginia, and Maryland.* No one has emailed Goldberg their current demographics, so they remain for him mysteries and therefore don’t count.
* I’ll leave Illinois off the list since it’s Obama’s home state.
Did Lucienne drop Jonah on his head when he was a baby? Alot? Regularly?
I think Obama should start wearing a machine-gun-shell belt and make “We Are the Road Crew” his campaign stop song.
Umm… he won a majority of the white vote in Virginia. Also the Latino vote. (All 5%) Maybe he should tweak his argument a little.
How about this: The only white people who will vote for Obama are the ones who don’t have any direct experience with uppity northern negroes. Does that work for now?
No Sheep ‘Til Hammersmith!
But in states that actually “look like America,” he tends to get beaten by Hillary Clinton.
Like Idaho?
WTF is a “non-homogeneously white state”?
The premise is inherently flawed. Lucianne never stopped dropping Jonah on his head. And there’s nothing past-tense about his existence as a baby.
All Jonah means to say is that conservatives will never vote for an uppity n*gg*r like Obama. And if some liberal whites, latinos and women join them, McCain will be the next president. You have to put his column in the Rubbish Deciphering Machine to extract the sense, such as it is.
But in states that actually “look like America,” he tends to get beaten by Hillary Clinton.
Like Idaho?
No, Idaho is too white. South Carolina is too black. But somewhere out there is a piece of data that will validate Jonah’s racism. What? Oh no, he’s not racist, its other people, other people!
Democrats, mostly!
MÖTÖRHEAD RÜLEZ!!!1!
WTF is a “non-homogeneously white state”?
In “non-homogenised white”, all the
creamscum rises to the top.Does Jonah think Obama won Iowa because the white folks were overwhelmed by the black voters who came out of the ‘hoods of Mason City and Ottumwa to vote for the Brother?
No, it’s worse, Smut. He’s saying the only people who will vote for Obama are racist black people and naive white people who don’t know what black people are like (because they live in all-white states).
Essentially he is saying that anyone who has ever met a black person would never vote for one. I mean, he’s not of course, the American people are.
sorry that was for fardels bear.
Maybe he’s saying nobody will vote for Obama if he looks too much like their cocaine dealer.
The personality cult is annoying, but at least Obama seems to have got it by being actually charismatic and inspiring, rather than osmosis and possibly voodoo.
I would just like to chime in and say that “Doughy Ramone” is my favorite name of 2008 so far.
yeah, so jonah thinks idaho is “white-supremacist-rich” and that’s why Obama won. Idaho is rich with mormons, nazarenes, neanderthals and libertarians, but white supremacist rich? not even. and where does jonah get off dissing the heartland? I thought he dug us.
The whole wingnut crew keeps looking at the polls and keeps hoping those Clinton voters will go McCain because of Obama’s color.
Of course, you have to remember, they completely block out the fact that 74% of America wants out of Iraq. I hope Jonah and wingnuts continue to encourage Johhny to bang that drum.
Also, they see the polls and see a 4% margin. “That’s within the margin of error! By god the bigots may save us!”, goes the scheme.
What they neglect to acknowledge in that little scheme is this
So bang that drum Jonah. Bang it hard!
Hmm. So much for the old conservative stereotype that the REAL America wasn’t to be found in New York, Massachusetts or California. Those states are now declared to embody the REAL America and its values. Most interesting. I thought they were supposed to be hives of liberal fascism.
Of course those states were particularly targeted for campaigning by Clinton as part of her cherry-pick-the-big-important-states strategy, while Obama has taken more of a fifty-state strategy. And Hillary is the Senator from New York. I dunno. That might have had some effect or something.
But in states that actually “look like America,” he tends to get beaten by Hillary Clinton.
WTF does that mean? Since every state is, in fact, part of America, then would not every single state actually ‘look like America’?
Clearly Obama won Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas because white voters felt threatened by black voters (who are racists for voting for Obama). This is simply the other side of the *whites only vote for Obama because of white guilt* coin. I, for one know that if my guilt doesn’t get me, my overwhelming fear of black people will be sufficiently convincing.
So much for the old conservative stereotype that the REAL America
Obviously, that has always been just so much horseshit, and they know it. Funny, but even as they decry how multiculturalism is supposedly splitting the country into factions, they seek to elevate certain parts of it over others in the interests of finding “the real America”.
I’m going to enjoy watching every part of America vote their useless asses out of office.
the important thing to remember is that Jonah and his crows aren’t racist; it’s Obama’s fault for bringing up his race all the time.
There remains the inconvenient question: Does it make any sense?
I found a true sentence in a Jonah Goldberg column !!!!11!!!!
But in states that actually “look like America,” he tends to get beaten by Hillary Clinton.
What a fooking liar. Goldberg and his ilk are always saying that gay-marriage Massachusetts is exactly not what “America” looks like and … hmmm … South Carolina and Virginia are … Here, he’s saying Massachusetts is the “real America” and South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia are not.
