Don’t let it say we only report the bad news!
Over the course of the last several months and countless posts, we’ve written about the many broken promises and shortcomings of electricity production in Iraq. The CPA’s target of 6,000MW by June 1 was eventually changed to June 30. Neither target was met, and electricity production, on a good day, barely reached pre-war levels.
Well, according to this article they’ve finally done it. 6,000MW? Sadly, No! But at least they’ve managed to improve on the way things were:
Electricity production in the country averages approximately 4,625 MW, a total that services an estimated 13.9 million Iraqi homes.
