Well, at least he didn’t compare Bush to Hitler
The Virgin Ben (a registered trademark of TBOGG GmbH,) wants to alert us to the greatest threat faced by the United States today. Vladimir Lenin:
When Vladimir Lenin began his meteoric ascent to power, he was just a 30-year-old Marxist hoping to start a revolutionary newspaper called Iskra.
And so it continues for the first 375 words of Ben’s column, which feature Lenin’s name 10 times. And then, things get really funky:
Michael Moore has no excuse. America is a republic, and Moore is a threat to the republic.
He appears to pursue Lenin’s goals. After dropping out of University of Michigan-Flint to pursue political activism, Moore started the Flint Voice, an alternative newspaper that became the Michigan Voice.
First they came for the Muslims
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Muslim
Then they came for the overweight filmmakers from Flint, Michigan
And I did not speak out
Because I was not an overweight filmmaker from Flint, Michigan
Moore attempts to undermine the very system of American government. […] Like Lenin, Moore has twisted the war in Iraq into a club with which to beat the Bush administration.
Who shall delivers us from this menace??? Maybe it’s time to call on Ace & Gary?
The vitriol of his minions approaches the brink of violence. Moore seeks to undermine faith in American republicanism, capitalism and American foreign policy. Let there be no doubt: Michael Moore is a threat to the American way of life.
It “approaches the brink of violence?”
Is this similar to The Virgin Ben approaching the brink of sexual intercourse by jerking off to Sheri Valera‘s GOP convention video essay?
Ben very nearly almost comes close to approaching the brink of being a fucking idiot.
Ben’s breathless writing style reminds me of that of a moderately bad female writer who is still in high school. His columns actually get published?
Lenin also beat the Bush administration with a club he manufactured by twisting the war in Iraq?
No, Jeffrey, I think he means Moore is going to call in the Army to massacre striking sailors at Kronstadt. Or something.
What is to be done about this husky menace, comrades?
Someone needs to remind the Virgin Ben that Lenin was only able to rise to power because of the effects World War I, the great project of the Dick Cheneys of that age, had on Russia.
That way, Ben will argue against any further wars by Bush & Co., because they’ll lead to Michael Moore having dictatorial powers over the U.S. or something.
Shit, and I was going to vote for Michael Moore in the Presidential Election, but now I see how dangerous a candidate he is. Guess I’ll vote for Kerry instead. Thank goodness Ben set me straight.
Frederick, I’m pretty sure he’s far past that particular brink.
Those sneaky Iraqis putting Micheal More on a train to arrive in the USA to over throw the Bush Dynasty! The Bush Dynasty is nothing like the Romanovs! The Romanovs didn’t provide equipment and guns for the troops. Bush has provided guns! Sure little equipment and there is an ammo shortage, but they have guns!
To the Finland Station, comrades!
Does this mean that when he dies, we’ll have to preserve Moore’s body in a glass case outside of the capitol?
follow this link. it’s outrageous.

Chris Hedges, author of WAR IS A FORCE THAT GIVES US MEANING, was booed off of the stage after giving an anti-war commencement speech in Illinois.
The Boy writes: Moore attempts to undermine the very system of American government.
Really, Ben?
It wasn’t Moore who chose to deny basic civil liberties enumerated in the Constititution to those incarcerated at Gitmo and elsewhere.
It wasn’t Moore who chose to reverse the most basic precept of American foreign policy by implementing a bizarre “pre-emptive strike” rationale for war.
It wasn’t Moore that chose to ignore the UN– of which the US is a charter member, and whose regulation the US is signatory to and legally bound by– when it pointed out that the US had no justification for an invasion of Iraq.
It wasn’t Moore who chose to exempt the US from adherence to the civilian and POW protections of the Geneva Conventions– again, which the US is signatory to and legally bound by.
That was George W Bush who did all those things, Sonny, and you oughta be thanking your lucky stars that he hasn’t a prayer of being elected to a second term.
Just as I’m sure Bush himself is, knowing in his heart of hearts that sooner or later, the sheep look up– and he’d be looking at impeachment, just as Nixon was.
If I’m recalling one of Moore’s interviews correctly, he dropped out of college on the first day because he couldn’t find a parking spot. (And I take him at his word on this because I went to the same kind of college.) Thus, the proper preventive action to thwart the emergence of future Lenin-Moores in the US is simple: more student parking on campuses. Simple really.
Almost. In “Stupid White Men” he says that he dropped out sophmore year because he couldn’t find a parking space in an hour of looking. And he didn’t offically drop out, he just stopped going.
Brainwashed Ben drives me nuts. My son is the same age and so much smarter. I can’t understand how that little smartass gets a column.
At least Moore is making him nervous. That’s good.
Shit! I just realized the true danger! We should be looking out for the disciple of Moore who will become the Stalin to his Lenin!
And just curious – who is Moore’s Trotsky-like sidekick? Jon Stewart, perhaps?
I guess I was asleep when Moore was doing all his work in Switzerland, out of the reach of the Czars'(Oh, I meant Bushcos’) secret police.
When will Moore announce his NEP?
parsec, shame on you for stealing my thought and posting it before me!
Someone should Photoshop the famous picture of Lenin speaking to the workers with Moore inserted in Ls’ place, then e-mail it to the Virgin Ben.
Did you mean this Marx and Lenin?
In response to:
“Moore attempts to undermine the very system of American government. […] Like Lenin, Moore has twisted the war in Iraq into a club with which to beat the Bush administration.”
I give you the words of the most famous Republican President of the 20th Century.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the president … right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” — Teddy Roosevelt, 1918

It may be a small point since the Virgin Ben? can’t even locate him in time, but it’s Lenin. It’s a pen name. It’s not Vladimir Lenin, or Nickolai Lenin, or V.I. Lenin, any more than it’s Fran?ois-Marie Voltaire.
I’m reminded that back in the golden era when the Pulliam family owned the Arizona Sun and operated it like the house organ for the John Birch Society, one of their editorial writers couldn’t go two paragraphs without mentioning Vladimir Lenin, which prompted some wag to write in asking just who this “Vladimir Lenin” was. The editors responded with a biographical sketch. Hope this helps!
Yeah, all those pissed off extremists who invaded Boston to protest the DNC… I heard six of them got arrested. Man, those ultra-liberal wacko’s sure are trouble.
bubba, truer words were never spoken.
