I find it best to adopt an attitude of total skepticism before reading a Mark Steyn production.

The church my parents go to rents a building out to local Muslims. They had just built a new mosque, but it wasn’t big enough, so a chunk of them use the old church. My parents, who are very active in the church, have run into them a few times going here and there, and they’re very nice people, and held/attended a prayer service after 9/11.

But he also shills for the American enterprise Institute from time to time whenever they need a good “Global Warming is Hooey” op ed published. He also covered the trial of his close friend and personal hero, shyster, con-man and would be nobleman Conrad Black, for Macleans Magazine producing some of the most shameless fluff pieces in the history of Canadian journalism.

Fuck knows, but the columns he had a few years ago have, by and large gone. He got dumped from the Daily Telegraph last years for being too fucked up, even for them (which is saying something), and all of the other Conrad Black papers have been dropping him one by one. His main outlet in Canada, the Western Standard, has now gone tits up, and his only large scale outlets now appear to be Powerline and a weekly appearance on old Hugh (I’m fucked in the head) Hewitt’s show. If you can be arsed, his own website, steynonline, is rather sad now as he has taken to recycling articles from a few years ago to fill up the pages.
He still has the reach to the subset of the 27%’s, who believe the little brown Muslim people are out breeding us, and his book must have sold quite well, but on the national scale of things, his influence is waining big time, therefore he is forced to say more inflammatory and stupid shit, just to get attention.
