Teh Motherlode Is Arrived
Posted on May 17th, 2007 by Gavin M.
Welp, let’s see what’s going on over at Blogs For Bush this afternoon.
The Propaganda War
By Mark Noonan at 12:28 PMJonathan Foreman over at NRO gives some great examples of the sort of reporting that is undermining our war effort…
[Ding-dong.]
Hold on, someone’s at the door.
It’s the UPS guy.
[sprightly orchestral theme]
Whee!
Hey Brad, do you want the chapter on sex scandals, or can I have it?
Boy, Noonan really lays it out there, huh?
The lesson: kill everyone really quick and no one will have time to complain!
Noonan’s such a stupid fucker. Next time I see him I’m going to grab his dewlap, wrestle him to the floor and make him punch himself.
Shorter Noonan: Death solves all problems. No man, no problem.
Oh, is the “crazy nappy negro” supposed to be Sharpton, or the chick who slapped a DC cop?
Also, when you were opening the box, did you hear the faint, haunting Ark Theme, from Raiders of the Lost Ark?
There’s enough projection from that book cover to light the dark side of the moon.
“Over the next couple of days the claims of civilian fatalities ranged from 20 to 200 — a telling discrepancy, and one that probably reflects the tendency of predominantly oral cultures like that of rural Afghanistan to foster rumor and exaggeration.”
Yeah, what a “predominantly oral culture” needs is teh internets. That’ll put an end to those pesky rumors, gross exaggerations, and biased reporting.
Don’t open the book! I heard that if you read it, you have to pass it on to someone else within a week, or you die.
I heard that’s what happened to The Editors.
You bought that nasty thing? The proper dirty hippie approach would have been shoplifting.
Says Noonan, “Unfortuantely (sic), we can’t un-invent (sic) the camera, so we’ll just have to work around it.”
chreebus.
Hell, Scaife’s orgs are going to have it discounted to $0.95 with free shipping in a week. The sucker was remaindered before it was bound, fer crissakes…
mikey
Noonan:
That’s right. We should’ve kidnapped Hussein and put him on trial in Miami. And instead of using WMDs as the justification for invasion, we should’ve said there were U.S. medical students in Iraq whose lives were in danger.
More Noonan, from Leonard Pierce’s quote above:
Those anti-Americans he refers to would be Barbara Trent and David Kaspar, director and writer, respectively, of the Oscar-winning documentary The Panama Deception.
Always out to redefine the term ‘glutton for punishment’ aren’t we?
had we put the detainees on trial and released, convicted and/or executed them as appropriate, then we wouldn’t have to deal with … fool stories of mistreatment of prisoners “held without chargeâ€?.
Well gosh, you don’t have to worry about “fool stories” concerning the prisoners held without charge if you aren’t holding any prisoners without charge.
I’m not sure who the bigger dumbfuck is: him, or whoever paid him for writing that.

Yeah, the Conservative Book Club did a nice bulk buy to prop up the Amazon sales rankings and have it on-hand to use in the above-mentioned Scaife sell-offs. There’s plenty of Wingnut Welfare to go around, and Noonan wants his cut!
That said, I can’t wait to hear about all the wingnutia that lurks between the covers. I’m sure it’s cover-to-cover batshit insanity.
“Unfortuantely (sic), we can’t un-invent (sic) the camera, so we’ll just have to work around it.
Noonan probably still thinks that if somebody takes a photo of you, they capture your soul.
Oh, I can’t wait for you guys to dissect this shit. Anyone know what’s going on over at the Poor Man?
ya’ll, please excuse me for being internet-ignorant…but what’s up with
“teh” replacing “the” in things?
Jenni, it’s funner and pwned means owned
We’re in UR skool killin UR teachers…
mikey
Geeze, jenni, I always thought it was because there were a lot of people like me, whose “e” finger is always faster than his “h” finger, and who got tired of going back to correct it. Wow, I was in on something, and didn’t even know it. Does this make me, like, retroactively cool? Now, about that “pwned” thing…

I have a friend who I instant message regularly who does this. He doesn’t correct any of his spelling errors, in fact. He’s no slouch, he’s a university professor…
I wonder if the insane Noonan and Captain Chickenhawk Margolis use “teh” or “the” in the epic “Caca of Corruption”…
I’m freaking out over this book. I just know that Mr. Noonan has made such a compelling case, that if I read it, I will have no choice but to convert to Conservatism…
the anti-Americans tried to gin up atrocity stories vis a vis Panama, but they never really went anywhere because no one cared – the war was over
Once the wars over, it doesn’t matter what horrible crimes against humanity you did! It’s all forgotten!
The sad part is that he is right in a way, but somehow he sees the American peoples apathy as something good.
Can you say “No Gun Ri”?
I knew y’could…
Lemme just tighten up this cardigan. It’s kind of cold here in HELL!!
mikey
A while back, I mentioned that ‘teh’ had taken over my life. I couldn’t even think the word ‘the’ anymore. I blame this blog. I’m in recovery now.
although I’m still calling my cat Tecate. It was a natural evolution, and I love Mexican beer…
I’m sorry. The caricature of the African-American on the cover just isn’t racist enough for me. Is it too late for the publisher to add a kerchief and banjo?

Provided you win. My Lai and Fallujah aren’t going away.
If anyone wants to know what I consider a Bush Administration mistake in this war, it is the slow pace of events – of course, the explanation for this is that the Bush Administration has stayed within a worldview which holds that the truth will be believed in preference to the lie. We know better now – lies work better in the propaganda end of the war, so truth has to be faster and stronger than the lies.
Jeebus H. Christ on a tricycle, the man’s finally admitted it: the pro-war trumpeting is all propaganda.
On a more serious note, it’s interesting that all commenters bar one take Noonan to task for this ridiculous piece of drivel. It looks kind of funny to see a cheerleader site chock-full of comments saying, very politely, that he’s full of shit. It warms the cockles of my heart, it does.
…(a)nother example would be Gitmo: had we put the detainees on trial and released, convicted and/or executed them as appropriate
If only we had given the detainees the right of due process, no one would be whining about it now……. he’s brilliant!
The proper dirty hippie approach would have been shoplifting.
That would presuppose that an actual bookstore would have this ‘item’ in stock.
Since the people who run bookstores are (usually) literate, I estimate the probability of this happening as nil.
Disclosure: I have run bookstores. If a publisher’s rep had tried to get me to order any more than ZERO copies of this ‘item,’ I would have laughed in his/her face.
Loudly. And then called in the rest of the staff to laugh with me. And we stocked fucking Dianetics, people.
Oh, god, thank you for getting the book. I can’t wait for choice bits. But please tell us you’re going to be sending it back.
Ugh!
Well, that’s thirteen bucks of PayPal donations wasted!
[whistles innocently….]
Dude, you paid money for that? Why not just give Noonan a quarter to shit in your mouth?
