The best of both worlds

It isn’t often I disagree with the geniuses behind Fire Joe Morgan, but I do have a nit to pick here:

I am going to give this blog an official thumbs-up. Not just because she’s hot. Because she likes baseball.

Best of both worlds, dudes. Alyssa Milano’s hot and she likes baseball. She’s officially going on the blogroll once the hamster server lets me have a blogroll again, along with some other sports blogs.

(Note to people who complain when I write about sports instead of politics: eat it. It’s Friday and the Yankees are coming to town this weekend. I got baseball on the brain.)

There’s more to life than politics! Especially when there’s a chance to humiliate the Yankees because their entire pitching staff is on the shelf.

Wow this blog sure sucks. It’s all dark and dingy, like some cheap little apartment.

Well looky here! It’s an unemployed loser who’s about to get banned!

Will the punch-line be in the next post ?

This might piss you off as it did me…my daughter decided to visit the boxoffice at Fenway Wednesday and see if tickets were available for Saturday’s game. She got 3 in the bleachers in Right Field for $23.00 each. Of course, did she offer the extra 2 to Dad and Mom who have NEVER seen the hated Yanks at the Park? Noooo, she she’s given them to her friends! Is this gratitude? My wife and I spent last night, searching our souls, wondering where we went wrong in our raising of this child. We may have to write her out of the will….

Baseball’s that game Australian cricketers used to play in the off-season…right?

I don’t like it when you write about sports instead of politics. Now, what do I get to eat ?
I’m hungry.

heh, The Unseen Hand. Let me guess where you’re hiding it….

Chill, dude! You’re sounding like Alec Baldwin 😉

Hear me now. With the combined political power of gay women and straight men, we can change the system and force Brad to post pics or links to sites with hot women. He’ll be the liberal Ace of Spades, only with less self-loathing.

Oh, this post is about sports? Bah, carry on.

Félix Hernández is hurt. I blame Brad and his iJinx.

I love Fire Joe Morgan, even though I have trouble sitting through a baseball game even if it’s Game 7 of the World Series.

Then again, I love Sadly, No! even though I’m a humorless right wing ideologue. Where else can I get Townhall summarized for me?

Thank you. I appreciate you boosting the morale of our troops.

entire pitching staff is on the shelf

Would that be the pitching staff that just won its last three games?

Just askin’.

The Sox might want to intentionally walk Rodriguez, then Giambi, then Posada, then pitch to Phelps/Mientkiewicz and Cabrera, then walk Damon, Jeter, Abreu, and Rodriguez again. The games will last forever and think of the value the fans will get for their $23!

The Yankees’ pitching staff that just got 20 years younger this week? I’m looking forward to the Sox issuing 20 walks in 3 games, with Abreu and Giambi seeing 150 pitches between them.

Seriously though, Fire. Joe. Morgan. Today.

people who complain when I write about sports instead of politics

didn’t some TNR guy write a book about soccer explaining world politics? I think you can do better than that guy Brad.

did I ever thank you for turning me on to Fire Joe Morgan? It’s awesome.

Finally, if anyone needs a giant sandwich, it’s Alyssa Milano. sheesh. Gavin?

not the senator

Schilling, Beckett and Dice-K…

…Papelbon!

Alex who?

“Dodgers fan” and “hot”? The first negates the second, however richly deserved.

And baseball is to sports entertainment what Debbie Schlussel is to intelligent thought.

Heh, heh, she talked about Juan’s Pierre “bat” waking up, heh heh.
Then she, like, asked when “Betamit’s bat [will] wake up” heh heh.

Go Yanquis.
Your pitching is healthier now, Bradrocket, but Schilling n Beckett n Wakefield ain’t exactly models of health. And your offense is arse. Manny and Ortiz are sick, of course, but what else is there? Drew’s injury prone n fading(check out his isolated power the last few seasons) bat? Youklis’s walks and singles?
Yanks have genuine offensive depth, and Wang, Moose, and Phil Hughes to add to the rotation.
N besides, Rasner n Kartsens are better than Chacon n Small, and, well…..

How dare you trick me into visiting a Dodger’s fan site. I shall never forgive you.

… Alyssa Miliano … baseball … and the punch-line is … ?

(I just know this is going to be really good …)

Alyssa disses Scott Boras, and that’s good enough for me.

Good luck against the Yankees. Sadly, the Cubbies series against the dreaded is only to see who sucks less.

Go Sox – fuck A-Rod,

whoa, now. if she’s under 18, ground her. problem solved. i’m sure you can find some pretext for doing so. if over 18, plot revenge.

A Rod can not be stopped; suck it, Curt.

AG hearts the Yankees.

Especially when UC gets all pissed when they win.

(AG is running quick!!!)

You’re making the assumption that Baseball is a sport rather than a kids’ back yard game taken to ridiculous extremes.

Fuck all y’all baseball haters. Especially if you’re a soccer, rugby, hockey fan, whatever. As if following any sport is not a complete waste of time.

Now, why any self respecting lefty would root for the yankees is beyond me. It’s like rooting for the GOP or Microsoft.

a different brad

cuz i’m from outside albany n my pops grew up rootin for the mick? or cause the 98 yanks embodied all that is beautiful in baseball?
I loathe Steinbrenner, except in his willingness to pay for top players, but this is my team. They’re the only ny team I root for in any sport, fwiw.

I’m just joshing adb. But amongst my friends the Met fans are all lefties and the Yankee fans are conservative except for one. And when I make the Yankee GOP comparison he goes fucking nuts which of course is why I do it. And yeah, the 96-98 Yankees were hard not to like, especially with Daryl and Doc, but once Clemens came along they were hard not to hate.

Dammit.

Looks like Schill’s not the only old pitcher that had a rough time tonight, huh?

And the Sox close with Okajima with Papelbon tired. Wow.

I must say, even as a Sox fan I am kind of enjoying A-rod’s start. Any baseball fan should be soaking it in.

a different brad

And as a Yanks fan I’ll admit it; the Sox own Mo.
Bleh.

The yank-Giambi-for-speed move backfires yet again. You can’t let the scenario arise where you have Kevin Thompson batting with 2 outs in the 9th – when you have this Yankees lineup at your disposal, Joe. Never. Period. This is the Sox.

Okajima/Giambi would have been a nice battle, and it will happen soon I’m sure.
Wonder if Posada’s OK– the DL’s getting to be a joke for you guys.

Oop. Looks like some Yankees fans got caught counting chickens before they hatched.

BTW, since A-Rod hit only 2 homers last night and failed in the clutch against Okajima, does his “True Yankee” status get taken away again? Are you guys going to start pining for the days of Scott “.253 career EQA, carrer OPS+ of 95” Brosius again?

Also- Joe Torre is a well-respected guy whose players bust their asses for him. That said, his in-game management stinks. Why, why, why pinch-run for Giambi? He was the DH last night, so it’s not like you were taking him out for defensive purposes. Jeebus.

Considering the massholeness of the average Sox fan, I wouldn’t go acting superior, bradrocket. There are plenty of Yanks fans who don’t listen to Mike & the Mad Dog, n have been glad to have A-rod the whole time.
Like Steven Goldman of BP, or many of us who read him.
