Gary, You’re Still Getting Deported

In the comments to this thread, soon-to-be-deported illegal immigrant Gary Ruppert is crowing because of a recent poll that shows the Democrats “only” have a six-point lead in the generic congressional ballots.

Gary, mi amigo, this is what in statistics is called an “outlier.” Have you seen some of the other polls taken recently?

outlier.gif

So other than that five-point outlier, we see leads of 16, 18, 11, 11, 19, 18, 13, 11 and 15. Oops! Sorry to see you’re still getting deported, Gary, but we hope you enjoyed your stay.

I do hope that, as he leaves, Gary plays one of the touching songs from his homeland.

where are they going to deport him to? nobody will take him.

The Democrat something or other blah blah the Dustbin of History.

Ruppert deported to Syria. Claims he isn’t from there.

The fact is Gary’s head will implode on November 7th and there will be a new Garybot2007 that will take his place. And as a sad side note, he will be only 66% as amusing (the software wasn’t beta’d).

Unfortunately, Gary will have to be held at Gitmo until Cheney orders an American protectorate to accept him.

It is a myth that only immigrants will do RNC information-rendering. There are plenty of unemployed, disaffected white males willing to serve as keyboard kommandoes.

The fact is that this election is clearly narrowing as Americans realize that the Democrats are the party of abortion, homosexuality, and surrender.

As well, these results are also due to John Kerry’s insult of our troops.

Hopefully you moonbats are handling the news of your buddy Saddam getting hanged well.

So, when the GOP retains both the House and Senate, what will you moonbats have to say to me?

We simply can’t know yet what Gary’s reaction on the day after the election will be.

Y’see, there are “known unknowns”, where Rove’s talking points have been circulated but we haven’t heard them from Gary yet. This is one of those “unknown unknowns” where Rove hasn’t even written the spin yet, so there’s simply no way Gary can know what he will say.

“the party of abortion, homosexuality, and surrender.”

Who’s the party of hot man-on-man action?
Not there’s anything wrong with that, but the closet’s getting a little crowded, gar-bear.

And you clearly forgot ritual sacrifice.

The fact is that Saddam’s execution will also give the GOP a bounce, as we’re reminded that Saddam would still be in power if the Dems had their way.

It’s pretty funny that when even White House wingnuts admit they’re probably going to lose the House, Gary is yet even nuttier. They should hire him. Not even Ken Mehlman is that much of a dead-ender.

As well, the phony moderate Harold Ford is now down 53/38 to Bob Corker.

It appears that large-scale whining over innocent ads and thuggery at airports doesn’t go over well with Tennesseans.

Stick a fork in Harold, he’s done.

Stick a fork in Ned Lamont, he’s done.

I expect Chairman Dean to make some insane claim about how executing Saddam doesn’t make Iraq safer, like he made when Saddam was arrested.

I expect Chairman Dean to make some insane claim about how executing Saddam doesn’t make Iraq safer, like he made when Saddam was arrested.

I expect Chairman Mehlman to make some insane claim about how executing Saddam makes Iraq end its civil war.

Granted, Chairman Dean has been totally absent from the news, just like Nancy Pelosi.

The fact is that Howard Dean blew $50M and won one primary, and he will blow all the DNC’s money and still fail to win a majority.

But, they have a spiffy looking employee in Mississippi, even if they did lose in Pennsylvania and Ohio and Missouri because they have no GOTV operation.

As well, expect the Labor Goon GOTV efforts to be severely hindered in 2008. We won’t forget about what they’re doing this year, and we’ll make sure that they can’t just waste their dues on election abortion supporters.

Wow. This post sure did strike a Gary nerve. I’m curious, Gary, what purpose your efforts here are supposed to be for? Do you think your hilarious Baghdad Garying is going to change the votes of anyone here? Otherwise, why waste the effort?

The efforts here are to remind you that we’re the right, we’re right, you’re wrong, and your party is about to fade into oblivion.

The efforts here are to remind you that we’re the right, we’re right, you’re wrong, and your party is about to fade into oblivion.

But what actual purpose does this serve? If it’s as inevitable as you claim, why do you waste time on this blog commenting about it? Don’t you have anything better to do?

So, when the GOP retains both the House and Senate, what will you moonbats have to say to me?

Fair ’nuff I will admit when Gary Ruppert is right, why I can think of all the times that Gary’s predictions came true like the elections striking a blow for freedom in Iraq, or that Patrick Fitzgerald was going to indict Joseph Wilson and I graciously conceded defeat. So when I go to Katherine Harris’ Victory Party, I shall have to bow to you, Great Ruppert and admit my wrongitude. Oh wait…

Of course, if the dems take the house and/or senate, what are you gonna say Gary. Something on the order of “The fact is that the Dems cheated because everybody loves George Bush.” except longer and more hilarious.

or that Patrick Fitzgerald was going to indict Joseph Wilson

Gary predicted that? Hilarious.

I miss the doctor of tasty sandwiches. He was more playful, more curious as to the opposition’s stance, more, more…
I think I just confessed a man crush.
I’m gonna go watch my Lions lose again. Gary, you’re just not a BLT. It’s not you, it’s me.

Smiling Mortician

I expect Chairman Dean to make some insane claim about how executing Saddam doesn’t make Iraq safer, like he made when Saddam was arrested.

Well, I for one am with you, Gary. I mean, really, can’t we all just admit how safe Iraq became as soon as Saddam was arrested? The killing stopped immediately, if I recall correctly. Also, isn’t it obvious that executing Saddam will enhance safety much in the way that executing criminals in the U.S. gives us the lowest murder and violent-crime rate of all the industrialized nations? Come on, people. It’s a no-brainer. It’s a slam dunk. Dustbin, etc.

/teh stupid

Guys, I’ve figured out who Gary is: Ted Haggard.

Think Progress sez: From a statement read in right-wing evangelical leader Ted Haggard’s church this morning: “The fact is I am guilty of sexual immorality, and I take responsibility for the entire problem. I am a deceiver and a liar. There’s a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I have been warring with it all of my adult life.

“The fact is that Saddam’s execution will also give the GOP a bounce, as we’re reminded that Saddam would still be in power if the Dems had their way.”

The fact is, Saddam’s execution will also give the Democratic Party a bounce, as we’re reminded how self-serving and politically motivated the timing of the verdict was.

Or was that the Haggard matter? I can’t keep Gary’s nutty

The fact is we’re all going to love Gary’s responses after the Dems take the House. If he still comments here, that is.

Hmmm. I mean, I can’t keep Gary’s nutty pronouncements straight. The comment-o-matic went really weird for a second.

Smiling Mortician

Actually, Sniper, I like better the idea that you can’t keep Gary’s nutty.

Granted, Chairman Dean has been totally absent from the news, just like Nancy Pelosi.

Both patently false lies. The GOP just wants to take attention away from their failed policies and the fact that they are running on nothing but personality smears.

The efforts here are to remind you that we’re the right, we’re right, you’re wrong,

Disregard those facts! Listen to my empty rhetoric!

As well, expect the Labor Goon GOTV efforts to be severely hindered in 2008. We won’t forget about what they’re doing this year, and we’ll make sure that they can’t just waste their dues on election abortion supporters.

More evidence of Gar-Bear’s undemocratic view of government where not everyone should have a voice. Be proud.

I expect Chairman Dean to make some insane claim about how executing Saddam doesn’t make Iraq safer

Ummm…this one isn’t even worth responding to. Read the papers about the violence in Iraq and get your head out of Rove’s ass.

your party is about to fade into oblivion.

Is he totally disregarding why this thread was started? Look at the polls up top again sweetheart.

Democrats are the party of abortion, homosexuality

Do we need to bring up pedophiles and the fact that while the GOP has been in control of everything for six years they still haven’t gotten rid of abortion.

I expect Chairman Dean to make some insane claim about how executing Saddam doesn’t make Iraq safer, like he made when Saddam was arrested.

Gary? Lemme buy you a newspaper. Even USA Today. Between 3000 and 5000 innocent Iraqis are being killed every month in horrible ways. How is killing a guy who was hiding in a hole a couple years ago change ANYTHING? Do you even wonder why it is while YOU say the american invasion and occupation made Iraq a better place, the iraqis say otherwise? Or do you finally want to come out and admit that you don’t really care about them damn mooslems?

Democrats are the party of abortion, homosexuality

Y’know, Gary, neither of those are inherently bad things. One is a choice that can allow a woman a certain level of control over her life, the other, if you look at it rationally, is something beyond anyone’s control. Learn from your buddy Ted Haggard. Hating it doesn’t make it go away. I’ll accept being the party of abortion and homosexuality, and you can be the party of corruption, torture and the evisceration of the american constitution. We’ll take that to the polls on Tuesday, Dustbin boy….

mikey

I expect Chairman Dean to make some insane claim about how executing Saddam doesn’t make Iraq safer, like he made when Saddam was arrested.

Hey Gary? Do you really think Iraq has gotten safer since Saddam was arrested? Do you need me to show you a chart chronicling the spikes in violence over the last three years?

Lookit The Happy Monkey

You know you’re going to Hell, right Gary?

But Satan, knowing you are his no matter how you squirm, has made a special trip for you. He wants you suffer so very badly, because your high pitched girly shriek is like the beautiful sound of a virtuoso soprano solo combined with the most window shattering orgasmic sighs to him.

Your own party, which advocated torture, which spys on its countrymen, which stole from the poor to give to the rich, which squanders it’s good name for an empty fantasy, is going down the tubes. Maybe, MAYBE, it will eke out a paltry tie in the Senate, but the House is lost, and the nation no longer truly trusts you and yours any more. And deep in the withered organ you call a brain, you know this.

But Satan doesn’t want you to admit this, because then you’d just cry a lot and while that’s OK, it’s not what he wants. So, he is whispering sweet little lies into your ear. “Pay no attention to them, baby. They’ll all be sorry on Wednesday. Just keep telling them the things I Tell You, and their spirit will be broken.”

On Wednesday, when the GOP gets it’s ass handed to them, he’ll tell you about how Bush will keep them in line. And when the investigations begin, he’ll tell you to ignore them, that the GOP didn’t do anything wrong after all, and if they did, it’s was someone else’s fault. And when the indictments come in, he’ll tell you that it’s a witch hunt, and that you’re the only one who can stop them. Then it’s just quick trip to a bell tower, and git-r-done, right?

“The fact is that Saddam’s execution will also give the GOP a bounce, ”

uh, when? He’s not getting taken out and shot tomorrow. That supposed bounce, if it ever comes, is gonna be a little late, don’t you think?

Iraq did get safer when Saddam was arrested, but Al-Qaeda terrorist actions continue to make Iraq a bit shaky.

Gare-Bear is sure wound up today.

Yep, big fella, Iraq is “a bit shaky” just like the republicans chances of retaining a majority in the House are “a bit shaky”…

mikey

Smiling Mortician

Oh, Gary. Yes, Iraq is “a bit shaky.” In the same way that you’re “a bit misguided.”

The fact is the surreal nature of one of my favorite blogs being centered around a trollbot for one thread on a Sunday afternoon is…surreal?
I just committed a run-on, and I’ll serve the appropriate sentence.
Gary? Come over here and give me a hug.

Lookit The Happy Monkey

“A Bit”?!?!?!

Sacred Mother Of Christ Almighty, are you just dumb or something? We’re looking at a creeping civil war in Iraq, and you’re acknowledging that as being “a bit shaky”?

I have to wonder, is Gary’s grip on reality “a bit shaky”, or just his command of the English language. Discuss.

Y’know, in my many decades on this planet I like to think I’ve used and abused every psychoactive substance in existence, but I’m pretty sure Gary’s got something I’ve missed. Kick down, bro…

mikey

Al-Qaeda terrorist actions continue to make Iraq a bit shaky.

I can’t tell if he’s being serious or not. I really can’t. Parodynoia strikes again.

The problem with Iraq is that Shi’ites are nutbars.

The problem with annieangel is she’s a fucking idiot…

mikey

… even if they did lose in Pennsylvania and Ohio and Missouri because they have no GOTV operation.

Gary Ruppert, if you really are in Missouri…look out your window.

BLARRGGGHH!! It is a Demoncrap! On my doorstep! It is to awful! Teh Demoncrap is taking away my Dustbin of History!!1!! Oh NoOess!!1!!1!!

If you’re REALLY unfortunate, Gary, that Demoncrap will be me. And I know what you look like. And you have no idea what I look like.

Maybe you should hide, Gary. Until Wednesday. It’s not like you can vote, because you’re still on parole, so why not hide? If I were you, I wouldn’t answer your phone, either. Again, it might be ME calling you!!

*ding-dong* Demoncrap Calling!

I’m not an idiot. Shi’ites are running around with their death squads murdering Sunnis on a daily basis.

Do you even know what’s going on in Iraq cuz I don’t think you do.

>Iraq did get safer when Saddam was arrested, but Al-Qaeda terrorist actions continue to make Iraq a bit shaky.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we stand officially corrected on the matter. Now that Saddam will be executed the disaffected Sunnis will thus lay down their arms and the Shi’a will also disband their death squads and militias. The flowers stored for 2003 that were, thanks to Clinton, misplaced somewhere, will come out and a flourishing democracy will take place in Iraq that will transform the entire region, eliminating the scourge of terrorism and building a bright prosperous, non-homosexual future for us all.

Hi, mikey! Are you feeling better? Did you try the tea/honey/whiskey remedy? I swear, my memere used to give us that when we were little kids and had colds.

She always made us promise not to tell our mom. It’s because my mom was not French-Canadian, and so had this peculiar idea that even small amounts of whiskey were bad for children. 😉

Shorter Gary: Evacuate? In our moment of Triumph?

The problem with Iraq is that we stuck our balls in the bees nest. Everyone is crazy there, with the same relgious crazy that 30 million Americans would like to see impossed here.

Hey, GW. I am well on the road to recovery today. This was a particularly nasty bug. Whiskey was no help, nor was most any other substance. The ones that had value were nyquil and percocet. I slept thru wednesday and thursday and by today I’m even somewhat functional. I’m afraid my proximity to that paragon of evil, Nancy Pelosi, contributed to the virulence of the virus…

mikey

Annie you’ve still never answered my question.

How do you turn a former dictatorship into a freedom loving democracy at the same time you want to make it a destination spot for terrorists?

I’m not an idiot. Shi’ites are running around with their death squads murdering Sunnis on a daily basis.

Annie’s so fucking uninformed she hasn’t heard yet that the capital ‘I’ Insurgency is Sunni in origin.

with the same relgious crazy that 30 million Americans would like to see impossed here.

There’s SO much more to Iraq than religious violence. The american press, with it’s corporate ADD and unwillingness to actually explore an issue beyond a photo and a sound bite has led americans to believe the simple story. Lots more going on. The sunnis were minority leadership since partition, and enforce that rule, as minority rulers must, with violence, brutality and enforced one-party rule. Layered on top of that you have a foreign military occupation. And on top of that you have regional interests in iran, syria, jordan, saudi, turkey and israel. To view the civil war in iraq as a religious sectarian struggle is to willfully ignore all the other factors. I expect nothing more than willfull stupidity from annie, but for the rest of us, let’s do the research and understand what we’re seeing. In every other islamic country, shi’a and sunni live side by side in peace.

Now, as you may have noticed, I have disdain bordering on contempt for any serious adult who believes in mythology, whether it’s unicorns, gods or godlets. And religion is responsible for attrocious acts all down through history. But to ignore the complexity of the situation and accept the simple explanations offered by those with an active agenda, is to completely misread the realities in play, and would also prevent recognition that the horror and brutality unleashed in iraq is the result and responsibility of the illegal, unnecessary and aggressive american invasion and occupation. We broke their country and destroyed their way of life, and to blame the resultant chaos on their being “crazy” or somehow unwilling to accept this gift of liberty we brought them in our tanks and fighter jets is merely to shirk the taint we will carry down into the distant future….

mikey

Glad you are feeling better, mikey. I agree that Nyquil is the shit when you are really that sick. Just sleep through the worst of it.

But don’t blame Nancy Pelosi, because, according to Gary, she’s hiding. Which is where Gary should be, if he’s really in Missouri, because the sight of the huge number of dedicated Democrat GOTV teams in action will probably make his head explode. I’m going to go phone up some more people right now. 😉

My unicorn, Mr. Rainbows, is going to be very upset, Mikey. He probaly won’t even want to fly me to Oz for a whole week.

Religion and tribalism, irregardless. I stand by my original thesis that the problem with Iraq is that Iraq is fucked up no matter who is in charge.

Mikey said…

There’s SO much more to Iraq than religious violence.

You’ve hit the nail on the head Mikey. The biggest problem with the whole let’s invade Iraq crowd was their refusal (and their demonization of anyone who had the sense to see otherwise) to imagine that their extraordinarily simple plan might not work with the complex realities on the ground. In knocking over the apple cart, they royally screwed at least two whole nations of people.

Oh and my hat’s off to Gentlewoman and every one of you who’s doing something come Tuesday. Kick the rascals out. I’m tired of the Gary Ruppert’s of the world wielding power infinitely greater than their combined intellects.

The efforts here are to remind you that we’re the right, we’re right, you’re wrong, and your party is about to fade into oblivion.

Ya know, I never have figured out if Gary is for real or if he’s some sorta parody of a never-say-die GOP party hack. The only thing that makes me think he’s for real is his hardline stance on immigration, which doesn’t jive with Bush’s policy for free labor and instead is just good ol’ racist xenophobia.

Real or parody, this highlighted comment is the main reason I don’t take people who I know are real and who actually say the dumb shit he says seriously anymore. They’re not about making the country a better place for all citizens, nor are they really concerned with democracy or freedom or the “culture of life” or “family values” or any of the other buzzwords they toss around. If the GOP suddenly did a one-eighty on it’s positions regarding gay marriage because that’s what it took to win votes, you’d see folks like Gary change his tune in a heartbeat.

Because it’s not about using the political system to safeguard American lives and ensure peace and prosperity and security for all citizens for them. It’s about their team winning, and that’s all. That’s just all there is to it. Like a sports fan refering to his/her favorite team as “we”, it’s the delusion that if they’re on the “winning side”, it means they themselves are “winners” as well.

Sadly, no. They’re still losers because when they look out on the world, they can’t see any good nor can they see where they might do some good for no other reason that it needs doing. All they see is the party and it’s vitality. And in any event, the people who really benefit from the GOP’s policies think just as little of the folks Gary represents as they do actual political enemies. Folks like Gary, they’re not interested in what’s best for the people of this country. All that matters is winning, no matter the cost or no matter the damage. That quote sums it all up.

But in any event, I still say Gary’s a parody troll. He’s either that, or he’s either a sociopath or simply a damn fool.

Annie, pick up a paper. Shi’ites, Sunnis, Kurds, everyone’s pissed off, at each other since god knows when, and at us since we invaded their country and killed probably half a million of “them”. I can’t explain the former, and can’t blame them one bit for the latter. Can you spell SNAFU? ‘Twas a fucked up idea from the start, and it ain’t getting any better, so take off the rose-colored glasses and assess the situation for what it is, or continue to have your head comfortably nestled in your ass.

Guys, I’ve figured out who Gary is: Ted Haggard.

(ding!) We have a winner.

You know, it does seem strange: usually Garybot posts one or two inaninities and goes away for the rest of the thread. Rarely, he’ll comment in reply to someone’s unrestrained mockery of his idiocy. Often, he’ll go days at a time with no comment at all.

Not today though. Today, he’s all over the thread posting comment after comment. It’s as if he has nothing better to do.

Yesterday, Ted Haggard lost his job and now has a lot more time on his hands. Especially on Sundays, since he’s no longer preaching.

Coincidence? It would be irresponsible not to speculate…

.

crazy thread going on today. AA and Gary-bear. whew.

Also, I got KITTENS! woot

Shorter Gary: Evacuate? In our moment of Triumph?

Wow! Some Guy for teh win this round for the ever-popular Incredibly Relevant Star Wars Reference! Well played, sir!
For those of you keeping track of Gary predictions that utterly failed (I know-it’s hard-there are so many!), he predicted that Berlusconi would easily win the last Italian election for Prime Minister. He lost, of course, to Romano Prodi. Score one for Gary! Um, oops! Maybe not.
Keep screwing around with that Ouija board, Gare-bear! The spirit of Richard M. Nixon would never lie to you, baby, so keep it up! After we win, you can endlessly point out our faults, both real and imagined. Since the ratio will be about 1% real flaws to 99% delusions on your part, it will be a stimulating game to separate the truth from the stinking heap of lies and dross. Let teh games begin!
Oh, and P.S.
We’re not the “party of homosexuality.” We’re the party of open homosexuality, as opposed to your party, which is the party of closeted, self-loathing, traitorous homosexuality. “Gay Republicans” are the equivalent of Jewish Nazis, in that they actively persecute their own people, and should be treated accordingly. Face it, Gare-bare, your party is neck-deep in fags. It couldn’t even function without ’em. So, please, go for a ruthless purge, a pogrom. It would be fascinating what it turned up out. And don’t even get me started about the psycho-fundies. They’re just as compromised, it seems, maybe worse. So, Bring It On, Bitch.

I’m not talking about the insurgency. That is to be expected, I woudl’t want my town taken over by outsiders either. If it was just an insurgency problem, it wouldn’t be such a SNAFU. Insurgents can be appeased.

The Shi’ite NUTBARS will never allow a peaceful Iraq. They aren’t killing Sunni women and children and whoever else they can get their hands on because of the occupation. They are doing it because they are fucking nutbars. They will not be appeased by anything but by killing more Sunnis.

Here’s my source

Republicans Cut Democratic Lead in Campaign’s Final Days
Democrats Hold 47%-43% Lead Among Likely Voters

A nationwide Pew Research Center survey finds voting intentions shifting in the direction of Republican congressional candidates in the final days of the 2006 midterm campaign. The new survey finds a growing percentage of likely voters saying they will vote for GOP candidates. However, the Democrats still hold a 48% to 40% lead among registered voters, and a modest lead of 47%-43% among likely voters.

So, you’re gonna claim that the WaPo poll was an outlier?

The GOP is surging towards retaining both houses.

Remember, Howard Dean melted down in the last week before Iowa.

And the Democrat Party will melt down electorally in the last week.

Yes, I Godwinned the thread. But it was an appropriate reference, and it was for a good cause. Besides, Gare keeps referencing fuckin’ Trotsky, fer Jeebus’ sake.

“The GOP is surging towards retaining both houses”

Care to make a small wager on that Mr Ruppart?

Poor Sunnis. Not like they ever did anything to any one. Ever.

The clear fact of the matter is that the GOP is exerting unstoppable momentum, and it’ll be the final nail in the coffin of the Democrat Party.

The Suni woman and her child did NOTHING to anyone and they are being killed by nutbars simply for being Sunni.

That is the big problem in Iraq. That is the problem that isn’t going away, I mean my God, we don’t even go into Sadr City!!! Not into the main part of it, anyway. We make symbolic house to house searches in outlaying areas, we pretend that Sadr is under control, but THE FACT IS, he’s IN control.

This thread is slowly moving towards classic status. Now we need patterico or moran to show up and threaten someone.

Care to make a small wager on that Mr Ruppert?

And if the Dems manage to steal the election, expect me to note that fact.

The Dems won’t win, but they could try hard enough to steal it.

Annie:
“If it was just an insurgency problem, it wouldn’t be such a SNAFU. Insurgents can be appeased.”
Why is it more than just an insurgency problem?
And what, exactly would you propose that would “appease” these alleged insurgents to the extent that peace rules throughout the land?
So in summary, what the hell should we do other than get the hell out before more of us are killed and we kill more?
Do you think there’s a political solution? The only one that worked between these three factions is a dictator with total military authority. Partition?
What’s the solution, Annie? Enlighten me.

Gary? Come over here and give me a hug.

Fuck that. Exterminate all the brutes.

And if the Dems manage to steal the election, expect me to note that fact.

Look, folks! Gary’s starting his acceptance phase.

Insurgency won’t cause civil war. Insurgency is an us angsint them situation, where the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

The situation with Sadr has nothing to do with us. It has to do with ALI ALI ALI ALI!!!!

Bah. He’s just parady trolling now.
Someone get the man a fiddle.

I actually kinda do want to make some bets on this election, but I would imagine that’s a little bit illegal.

You know what I love about Gary’s sad little electoral fraud defense?
We get to tell him to move on.
We’re gonna win, Garebear. Don’t be a sore loserman.

Wait.
The insurgency has to do with Mohammed Ali?
Did he refuse to serve after being drafted again?

Could it be this bad for the GOP?

With more than a third of Ohioans ready to vote a straight Democratic ticket, Republicans could be headed for electoral disaster Tuesday unless their vaunted get-out-the-vote effort comes through.

Fueled by a huge margin favoring gubernatorial candidate Ted Strickland at the top of the ticket, Democrats have moved into position to sweep all statewide nonjudicial offices, a new Dispatch Poll shows.

The elephant graveyard also appears ready to claim two-term Republican Sen. Mike DeWine, who trails Democratic Rep. Sherrod Brown by more than 20 points.

Ohio voters apparently are exacting their revenge for the scandals and corruption that have plagued state government; two-thirds of poll respondents said those factors were at least “fairly important” in determining their votes.

That’s from today’s Columbus Dispatch.

Even unrelated events seems to be conspiring against the GOP. Admitted felon Bob Ney, the Republican congressman from Heath caught up in the scandal surrounding former lobbyist Jack Abramoff, chose Friday to resign — infuriating Republicans by providing a visible reminder of GOP corruption woes just four days before the election.

WOO HOO! Time for a ride on the Dustbin of History Rollercoasterâ„¢!

“Insurgency won’t cause civil war. Insurgency is an us against them situation, where the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

Um, what?
Wanna try that again?

Not an answer, Annie, and a failure to show work.
What’s the solution, as far as our involvement is concerned?

And Gary’s in retreat. You can fly your freak (white) flag any time now.

“Wait.
The insurgency has to do with Mohammed Ali?
Did he refuse to serve after being drafted again?”

I’m the greatest…of all time. Except when I’m in a quagmire.

(With no disrespect to Mr. Ali, whom I hold in high regard).

Sunni and Shi’ite hate each other, but they hate us more. Do you understand that now? In an insurgency situation, they would be all gainging up on US, but they don’t really seem to care about us that much anymore, the Shi’ite anyway. They are looking to the future, a future of ALI!!!

Yeah Gary,

If you noticed, the (S)PEW Poll oversampled the South (34%) and undersampled the North (20%). Sorry, the nation doesn’t shift that drastically in one day!

Besides, Democrats only have to win by a 51-49 margin. I still like their odds.

Hey Gary, meet Chairman of the Republican National CommitteeKen Mehlman!

Again, no real answer from the Annie of the the Angels.
What should WE do?
“Cut and run?”
Withdraw slowly?
Plug in even more troops to quell the supposed insurgency, and take care of the “hangers-on”?
Solutions, not pointless analysis. FOX has the market cornered on the latter.

Okay, so, by your logic, World War 2 was just a great, big, global insurgency. Gotcha.

“Sunni and Shi’ite hate each other, but they hate us more. Do you understand that now? In an insurgency situation, they would be all ganging up on US, but they don’t really seem to care about us that much anymore,”
Wait, so, they hate each other, but they hate us to, which is why they’re working together to fight us, by killing each other, which makes this a civil was, but not an insurgency, because insurgencies don’t cause civil wars, they’re just when people gang up to kill other people they hate more, which is what they’re doing when they’re not killing each other.
Yeah. Okay, Chesire Cat.

Okay, seriously, can some one, like, give me quick pointers on how to make these damn bolds and italics work? Rackum-frackum….

McFly, there’s no national popular vote for the House. If you win 51/49, you won’t win a majority, because of how the Dems contentrate themselves in districts that give Kerry 85%.

The polls had the Dems up in 1994, before they lost 50 seats.

Some guy, you’re an idiot.

melonheads,

I think they need to seperate politics from religion 123%, if they don’t they is nothing anyone can do, this is bigger than us. They are nutbars.

Wow, Gary used a popular culture reference (though seriously dated). I believe he’s evolving. Into what scares me, but at least it puts ID to rest.

Eye teenk jou’re a liddle confuzzled, Garebear.
The polls in 94 at this point all kinda looked… bad for the dems? As in historically bad, yet arguably not as bad as it looks for your paymasters next tues?
Sure seems like even diebold can’t save you now, but like you projectively mention, electoral fraud is all you got left.

Also, I’m jealous. Pay attention to me, I have candy.

I think they need to seperate politics from religion 123%, if they don’t they is nothing anyone can do, this is bigger than us. They are nutbars.

Annie makes great granola bars, folks. You should buy some….

That’s lemonheads, sweetie. And that’s the most ludicrous proposition I’ve ever seen proposed regarding a region where religion and politics are the same damn thing.
As I suspected, answers are not in your domain, only griping about the opposition. The Repubs got us into a protracted, bloody, costly quagmire in a region where that is the norm and the best you can do is “separate politics from religion 123%?”
Take a couple poli sci classes, live a little longer and maybe, MAYBE your opinion may have some gravitas.

But the popular reference was inappropriate. Back to the Future starred that pretend american faker fakey mcfakesdyingforpoliticalgain. Bad form, Gary.

I think they need to seperate politics from religion 123%, if they don’t they is nothing anyone can do, this is bigger than us. They are nutbars.

The GOP, staring into their fundamentalist mirror.

R/E: Iraq. Actually, yes, the shia are nutbars, or at least sa significant portion of them are. But, then again, so are the sunnis. The sunnis, with their superior training in the marital arts, comprise the largest element of “the insurgency.” And, yes, they are killing shia, both just for being shia and for revenge. Those are the same things motivating the shia death squads, which are semi-supported by the government, and totally by various shia militias. The shia have the great advantage of numberas, and now that they run the government they have access to decent weapons that Saddam never let ’em near, plus the occasional modern, Western weapons, as well as stuff Iran smuggles them.
The most dangerous thing about this senseless little civil war is not that millions of Iraqis could potentially die horrible deaths in it; it’s that it could easily draw in surrounding nations on the side of their religious cohorts–Iran with the shia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other smaller gulf nations on ther sunni’s side. And that, my friends, would be real disaster.

No Gary,

The polls had Dems down before they lost in 1994. You are ignorant beyond all belief. Please get help.

I could use a nutbar right about now, what with sugar levels and all…

melonheads,

Religon and politics in Iraq were seperate before the new constitution.

Some Guy, italics is the small , but between the angle brackets (aka the less than and greater than signs), not the square brackets.

Make sure you close your chosen passage with , else everything everyone else types is italicized until someone else posts . Bold is .

No Marq, that would be the only good to really come from this. Let them all fight it out over there, maybe they will all kill each other.

If the elections for Congress were being held today, which party’s candidate would you vote for in your Congressional district–the Democratic Party’s candidate or the Republican Party’s candidate? As of today, would you lean more to the Democratic Party’s candidate or to the Republican’s Party candidate?

Democratic candidate including leaners – 47%
Republican candidate including leaners – 44
Other including leaners (vol.)/Undecided – 9

Gallup/USA Today, 11/2-11/6/1994

Hey, I’m just trying to figure out your logic here.
Either it’s an insurgency or a civil war, which is it?
Either they’re teamed up against us or they’re not, which is it?
And, as some one has asked you and been ignored, what plan do YOU suport to deal with this?

????

THe MAIN PROBLEM in Iraq is the Shi’ites. That is what I said. Can you read? We CANNOT fix it. Maybe they can, but there is nothing we can do short of nuking Sadr City and outlawing Shi’ites from government 😀

XD

And Marq, don’t forget Iran and Turkey are ALREADY bombing Iraq. 🙂 They are bombing the Kurds and no one even reports on it, why? Because the Kurds they are bombing are terrorists. 🙂

I love me a nice war to end all nutbarism in the Middle East. 🙂 Peace at last. 🙂

Smiling Mortician

What the hell happened today to get both annie and gary so revved up? I’ve started posting here like three times today and every time I use up my shelf life before I finish typing. People come and go so quickly here!

Sure Annie, if you just kill everybody you disagree with everything will be just rosy!

That’s what’s beautiful about it, stupid. They’ll all kill each other, we won’t have to do anything but maybe sell arms. 🙂

Sorry Gary, that poll was very generous to Democrats. Not what I’m talking about. Besides, where is the link?

What the hell happened today to get both annie and gary so revved up? I’ve started posting here like three times today and every time I use up my shelf life before I finish typing. People come and go so quickly here!

As far as I can tell, Gary and Annie are excited over the massive republican landslide coming Tuesday. Either that or some sort of looming disaster has really got ’em real jumpy.

Nannie:

You do realize the only reason politics were secularized before we invaded the sovereign nation of Iraq was because it was ruled BY THE DICTATOR WE SUPPORTED BEFORE WE DIDN’T.
And that we are responsible for the new constitution.
God you’re an idiot.
I’m done pretend debating with you. The density is approaching infinite mass, poking Gary with a stick is much more fun.

Lib: “The polls had Dems down before they lost in 1994”

Me: “Here’s a poll that contradicts that”

Lib: “Not what I’m talking about.”

Yeah, because it contradicts what you’re saying.

As for the link, look it up. It’s a poll from 12 years ago. Look on LexisNexis.

“And that’s the most ludicrous proposition I’ve ever seen proposed regarding a region where religion and politics are the same damn thing.”

Except in Iraq, is what you meant to say???

I think Annie and Gary got ahold of some of that meth Haggard was thowing out, and it’s got ’em all jacked up.
Don’t look at me that way, Gary. And Annie, you’re a little too close. Back up.

Hey Gary,

Don’t worry, I googled it. You (not surprisngly) misread the 1994 Gallup Poll.

1994 Gallup Nov. 2 – 6: (R) 51 – (D) 44

1994 CBS News Poll Oct. 29 – Nov. 1 (R) 49 – (D) 45

Like I said, ignorant.

Al-Qaeda terrorist actions continue to make Iraq a bit shaky.

But it only *seems* shaky, right? As I recall, according to your side, what looks like serious shakiness might actually be all an act, to provoke sympathy among the bleeding-hearts.

Here’s some more happy news from Ohio.

Look at the GOP momentum!

But shutupstupid, Gary’s got one poll he claims is from Lexis-Nexis which contradicts the two you found via google. See it’s that edge in logic that allowed him to make his killing in real estate, and thus pays for his constant Lexis-Nexis access.

It’s a new sitcom on CBS, from the creators of Two and Half Men:
Gary and Annie!
Follow the week to week hijinx as Gary attempts to find his mind, and Annie watches squirrels.
Gary and Annie, weeknights on CBS.

Jeez, Gary again with the Lexis Nexis. What kind of RNC-funded operation you got running there in the basement? You get cheeetohs by the truckload?

Annie is a disgusting idiot attention troll of the worst kind, sometimes enlightening in a sad, sick way. Reading down this thread I realized what we’re up against. Uneducated, mindless, homophobic, xenophobic, racist trailer-park chrisitianists, filled with a certainty of their own understanding, the rightness of their position and the perfect evil wrongness of the rest of the world. This is a perfect example of what stands between us a peaceful, enlightened world. It is this kind of simpleton’s view, this global geopolitics for dummies, that seems to be groing. It’s bad enough that they don’t read. They’ve actually devolved to the point where they’ve lost the ability to think. When you start with a world where the bible is the litteral truth, oh wait, american idol’s on, oh look, over there, a monkey, I want an ipod, did you see what mel gibson said…That’s where you end up with a bush/cheney presidency and it’s accompanying horrors. And not only with no solution in sight, it seems as if the problem’s getting worse…

Rupperto the Clown said:

Hmmm… hmmm… well, Señor Ruppert, it appears that you have a point on the Dems losing ground in this one poll, but when I compare and contrast to the WaPo poll posted above (y’know, the outlier?) we get, well, this…

Dems 51
GOPs 45

Why, I do declare, that looks like shrinkage among the GOP ranks. Sucks to be you on Wednesday, Gare-bear!

What solution do the democrats offer?

What solutions do the Democrats offer?

Fixing Republicans’ grammatical and spelling errors for one.

What improvements have the Republicans made?

Saline solution, annie. Because the Repubes are gonna be rubbing their teary red eyes all election night.

So they have no solution?

Gary,

Thought you might like this article link that I got from Lexis-Nexis. Read down a few sentences and you will see where the author points to Repubs having a 7 point lead in the final Nov. 2 – 6 Gallup Poll. Sheesh.

http://web.lexis-nexis.com/universe/document?_m=97d591ed0f446407d5ed87610e34a8d7&_docnum=5&wchp=dGLbVtz-zSkVA&_md5=9d9746b76fe721b76b8c8c418c40d649

Rather than argue with a potted plant, I encourage people to watch the video. Joe Lieberman as Norman Bates.

Gary's Pooper (aka fabbo)

The fact is, I’m talking out of me!

Y’know, to quote a god in the republican firmament, there you go again. I am fascinated by this one. Annie, bush, lots of republican candidates, they all say “what’s the democratic plan?” and then fold their arms and smile smugly. You know what? There very well may NOT be a solution. The idoiots in chief, bush and cheney shoulda maybe thought that part through before they started the bloodletting? The republicans in power intentionally started the war unnecessarily. They enabled the illegal war in congress. The championed the killing in the media and in the citizenry, with a combination of fear and thinly veiled code-word hatred. Now the people are starting to catch on. And they want to throw the brutal liars out of power. Oh sure, the grownups will accept the burden and start cleaning up the mess. The solution is to end it, as quickly as humanely possible. We don’t really know how to do it. But the fucking nightmare was handed to us by you fucking idiots in the first place. And you can count on the demcrats asking questions, actually LISTENING to what people suggest, considering the goddam consequences of their actions, and to be willing to accept responsibility and correct errors. So no, there’s no good solution, except to get the criminal ideolog thugs out of a position to continue to make it worse, and let some people with some sense and compassion begin working the problem…

mikey

So, mikey, WHAT IS THE DEMS SOLUTION???

You can play the blame game only so long, I mean, if you all have your way, in a few months WHERE will the blame shift??? 🙂

Yes, annie. If the dems, still having no direct control of military decisions, can’t fix 3 years worth of horrible mistakes by feb or march it all shifts to being their fault. Be more creative, dear. You usually have the good taste to avoid directly parroting dubya.

I’m asking a question, whatssa matta? Can’t answer it?

Hehehe. I love it. 🙂

Um Annie, Bush will still be in charge of foreign policy come Tuesday, whether the dems win or not. It’s his mess. It’s plan that got the US (and the world) into this mess. He fucked up. Big time. And I know you’d like to drink the kool aid and believe that there’s some magical solution that’ll end the killing and put humpty back together again, but hate to burst your bubble, it just ain’t gonna happen. And unless you can explain to me how exactly staying the course is going to solve the god damn fucking mess bush shit out of his ass, I humbly suggest that you STFU. I know it ain’t gonna happen and you’ll probably suggest genocide will solve the problem. *Sigh*. God help this world. (or FSM if you’d rather)

Seriously…has anyone ever thought of nominating Ruppert (or his kee-yoot sock-puppet, Annie) to the Usenet Kooks pantheon?

Fuckers are shoo-ins…

I don’t want the war to end. I want it to spread all over the middle east. 🙂

If you win 51/49, you won’t win a majority, because of how the Dems contentrate themselves in districts that give Kerry 85%

The fact of the matter is that Democrats have abused their political power to gerrymander district boundaries and reduce their voting strength.

So your ‘solution’ is to keep loyal to those who’ve amply demonstrated they don’t know what they’re doing?
The president is head of the military, lover. A Democratic House and/or Senate can’t compel him to change course. It’s not on them to fix this, it’s on them to do what damage control and harm reduction they can while Shrub is still there. The question is not what is the dem’s plan, it’s what is the Admin’s?

I don’t want the war to end. I want it to spread all over the middle east.
Who wouldn’t Jesus Bomb? Certainly not those damn muslims. Didn’t he go on and on about the need to kill ’em. Certainly nothing about being the prince of peace, or the meek inheriting the earth.

If Bush does it right, we won’t need to fight against the Muslims no more. The more I think about it, the more I realize that there must have been a broader plan, a reason to do things the way they have been done. i don’t think there has been a single mis-step in Iraq, regardless of what anyone says. I mean, it’s a mess over there, a mess that it did not need to be. Therefore, the mess was the INTENTION. 🙂

If that mess was intentional, I’d hate to see what happens when they really screw up Annie.

Or maybe they just figured what with the overtones of a crusade if they fucked up in Iraq their pretend christian followers will more or less be glad for the chaos. The basic hypocrisy of your stance eternally eludes you.
See, Christ was about peace. Not war. You might want to read up on that.

Annie, you want the war to spread all over the Middle East.
I need a second to take that in.

The most volatile region on the earth, the region all first word countries depend on for energy, and you want the war to spread?
Not to mention the general idea of wanting any war to spread anywhere..;.

(Scratches head).

I called you batshit insane once, and almost regretted it (the English in me). Now I realize you’re truly batshit insane, and no longer worthy of any attention, which you obviously crave by coming to sites such as this. You’re intellectually deficient, socially incompetent, and yes, batshit insane. You, Gary, the Dustbin of History (TM) can all go jump off a g’damn cliff. Discourse is good, typing shit to morons who have no grasp of even the most basic political realities is a waste of time. I know in the future you’ll pull the right string and I’ll respond in Pavlovian fashion. But for the time being please fuck off and do it quickly, as the Simpsons will be airing and I’d prefer the erudite observations of Homer to the crap that emanates from your keyboard pie-hole.

How can this have not been intentional? Think.

If it was a crusade, there would be no Islam in the “democratic” government we created. It’s not a crusade, not like you think anyway.

“They’ll all kill each other, we won’t have to do anything but maybe sell arms.”

That’s what Jesus would do. Republican Jesus, anyway.

The only intent I can see is to siphon money from the treasury to military contractors. And to have big bases near major oil fields. The rest is song and dance. Lives and morality don’t figure in.

Annie,

Here are some solutions:

1. Don’t start wars based on faulty intelligence.

2. Try to lure in Egypt, Morocco, or other moderate Islamic nations to aid with reconstruction. (Turkey would be good, but we already told them to fuck off.) By cooperating with Islamic nations, the US stands a better chance to influence “hearts and minds.” Simply incorporating 50 Saudi bee keepers within the “coaltion” is not working. Give Islamic countries a more active role in the reconstruction.

3. Next time, don’t try to achieve “victory on the cheap.” Almost all of the generals knew 135,000 troops wasn’t gonna cut it. (Coalition forces during the first Gulf War numbered over 600,000!!!)

4. Set up legitimate police forces with adequate training, i.e., try to avoid another 75 million dollar Iraqi Police Academy bood-doggle.

5. Actually spend the Billions earmarked for Iraqi Reconstruction on IRAQI RECONSTRUCTION!

6. Try to train the current Iraqi Army as well as possible and GET THE FUCK OUT!!!

I think they knew the intelligence was faulty, I mean how many different reasons for invading Iraq were we given in the beginning? It was like there was a new reason each week, and no one cared how transparent it was. From the beginning things were fucked up, at first the coalition soldiers didn’t even stop the looting. Chaos was given all the time it needed to flourish, it’s like no one tried ONE BIT to make things go smoothly over there.

I actually think they had to resort to torture that included WOMEN “demeaning” men over there to get a reaction from the Iraqis. They are so used to barbarism that in order to get them to rise agaisnt us we had to be creative.

And now, we don’t have to do anything and the chaos runs itself.

If you think about it, things were calmer right after the war “ended” then they are now. The chance to win the hearts and minds was there, and shunned.

Intentional. 🙂

And reconstruction money would have come anyway, it didn’t need to be the mess it is now for money to flow like water. After the original bombing was enough.

Again, Snosians, do not look away. There is a significant block who think like this. Ugly, ill-informed, mindless, driven by hate and fear? Sure. But they cannot be educated, they cannot be made to care, or understand, or think, or even consider the realities that result from their positions. This is representative of a sad, sick reality in the US. This contingent of mindless hate and unrealistic fear could drive the world over the edge, into global warfare. It has it’s analog in other countries, and seems in many places to be growing. Your future is at risk from this contingent, and I’m not sure there’s anything to be done about it. I’m old and sick, so I watch, sadly, as the lunatic fringe becomes “mainstream” and religion more and more equates with eliminationist hatred. If I was young, with a family? I’d be scared, and bloody angry….

mikey

Intentional. 🙂

Delusional.

“religion more and more equates with eliminationist hatred”

Islam in Iraq?

i don’t think there has been a single mis-step in Iraq, regardless of what anyone says. I mean, it’s a mess over there, a mess that it did not need to be. Therefore, the mess was the INTENTION.

That is possibly the stupidest, most delusional thing I have ever read here. I gotta give it to you annie, you are truly a special kind of stupid.

I don’t think it’s stupid, I think it’s brilliant.

= bold, ,= italics

(Just trying to help, so please forgive me if the code doesn’t come out right…ahem…without the preview and all)

Sorry that did work

I’m just wondering how Iraq will be any safer (to use the word very lightly) when Saddam is finally hanged? I mean…how different would it be from him being in jail? That whole line of reasoning is seriously illogical.

Personally, I’m thrilled the bastard’s going to the noose. He should have been removed over TWENTY years ago when he actually gassed his own people. But the Repubs didn’t think he was a bad man, then. Assholes.

I want McCoy on the job–he wouldn’t be satisfied with the guilty verdict:

Whatever female DDA: Well, Jack. You must feel pretty satisfied with that verdict.

McCoy: It’s not good enough. He wouldn’t have been able to gas his own people if he hadn’t had the weapon in the first place. Tell the detectives to search his palace. I want to find who gave him the technology. Those are the people I want. This won’t be over till we get EVERYONE involved in the gassing of those villagers.

Well, listen here moonbats, you don’t have to deport me.

The fact is, that if the Democrats win, I’m gonna join the Army so I can get over to ‘Raq and kill me some ragheads before the fun is all over! Woo hoo!

Mary? I’m running along behind, trying to understand what you’re saying. I don’t know who those people in your socratic dialog are. But the death penalty is barbaric, ancient, of no value and costs society so much in real growth. Let me simply ask this question. If we kill Saddam, how can we say we are any different than Saddam?

mikey

“Brad R. said….

I can’t tell if he’s being serious or not. I really can’t. Parodynoia strikes again.”

I think Gary’s a parody, even if he doesn’t know it yet.

Just watched Apocolypse Now, and could not help but weep at the “horror”, the absolute inhumanity, the ripping apart of ordinary lives and the embrace of terror and horror as ‘strength’. Incredible that there are people who think problems can be solved with war. Absolutely evil. Evil in the purest sense of the word.

No war should ever be undertaken unless it is forced upon a country, for the defense of the people, or if there is genocide going on, to stop the genocide. How will we ever live this down, this absolutely horrendous unprovoked assault on a sovereign nation? The murder and maiming of innocents that we brought on?

Jesus wept.

Thank you Candy. Let’s bring a little reality here. What is war? I mean at the trigger and gunsight level. We take kids out of high school. You know what we make them do? Think about it. They don’t say, but we know. We ask them to shoot people, kill them with guns and grenades and rockets and mortars. We train them how to call in arty and fast movers and gunships. Then we expect them to walk through the blood and the guts, the eyeballs and the pieces and the chunks, of their friends and of their enemies, and not care. People. They cry, they scream, they kill and they die. It’s not just a guerilla war. Anbar is a WAR. You take lives. You lose friends. Some of those friends you try to stop the bleeding. We’ve got some great shit. Blood expander, antibiotics, dustoff.

But my friends. Don’t let their words fool you. This is about people being shot and blown up, their people and ours. This is about a mindless, thoughtless war, the killing and the dying never to end. We CAN’T win. It needs to end. You need to use a bit of your imagination when you hear the news stories out of anbar or baghdad or kirkuk or mosul or baquba. Think about what all that means to the people who live there, and our guys who have to fight there. It’s criminal, it’s stupid, and it has to stop….

mikey

How you gonna stop the Shi’ites from killing Sunis?

Whatever female DDA: Well, Jack. You must feel pretty satisfied with that verdict.

McCoy: It’s not good enough. He wouldn’t have been able to gas his own people if he hadn’t had the weapon in the first place. Tell the detectives to search his palace. I want to find who gave him the technology. Those are the people I want. This won’t be over till we get EVERYONE involved in the gassing of those villagers.

Law & Order fan fiction? This thread has officially jumped the shark.

The Scott Peterson Case

Mikey, amen. As far as this blog goes, we can we please stop any responses to bloody-war-troll-wannabee-annie? Let her drink herself to death and be worm food. At least some creature on the planet will benefit.

????

The war is happening now, ignoring it by closing your eyes to the reality sure as hell won’t make it go away.

It just seems that so many people lack empathy, Mikey. They can’t relate to a poor family going without food so they can pay the utility bill, or buying the food and then killing a couple of the kids when the candles they are using for light or the gas heater they are using to keep from freezing catches the place on fire and the house burns down. They can’t relate to someone ignoring all the signs her body is giving her that there is something really wrong with her because she doesn’t have any insurance and can’t afford a doctor’s visit and also can’t afford to miss work, until it’s too late and the disease is terminal. And they certainly can’t relate to the horror of war.

I work in corporate America. Most of my coworkers come in from the burbs, stay within the company and the skywalk system all day, and get in their cars and go home at night. They are not bad people; certainly they don’t sit around and talk about how they wish all the people in the Middle East would kill each other off. But they really don’t care, because it has no place in the careful, insular little worlds they have made for themselves.

Tell them that you ride the bus to work because we only have one planet, they give you a blank stare. Tell them that you live in the city instead of the suburbs because you don’t want your kid going to a school where all the kids are white and middle class, and their mouths drop open. Tell them you don’t shop at Walmart because Walmart is a bad corporate citizen, and they start looking around nervously for an exit strategy. I sometimes despair of the possibility of getting the concept of other people suffering through their heads.

Those people need Christ. 🙂

Tell them you have killed, and it hurts.

Tell them you have been blown up, and their eyes furtively look for scars.

Tell them that religious mythology is harmful to 21st century society, they look at you like you are some kind of creature.

Tell them that Evolution is settled science, and they argue.

Tell them that Roe v Wade is settled law, they form committees.

Tell them that science is measurable, repeatable and observable, and they tell you that YOU are the one that is unhinged.

Nope. Not gonna let them define reality without having, as my good friend herr doktor bimler says, to “show their work”. You can’t have it EVERY FUCKING WAY!! You have to pick one place in reality and defend it. And if you can’t, you lose….

mikey

TELL THEM that “I AM RIGHT NO MATTER WHAT” and of course no one will pay attention to you. No one likes people like that.

Oh, did I mention that almost all my coworkers are church-goers?

My family was Catholic in Ireland, but have been wholly secular in the United States for four generations now. My three great uncles were all married to the same woman for their entire adult lives.

My grandfather and grandmother, married all their lives. My uncle, married to his high school sweetheart, are still married, in their early 70s. Four cousins, two married to high school sweethearts, one married to her college sweetheart, one divorced and remarried to the same woman who helped him raise the kids (the judge considered him the better parent.). The youngest is 40.

No one ever in jail. Not even overnight. All work for the government. (Classic Irish civil service people, back to my great grandfather.) And somehow, they’ve managed to live these exemplary lives without any religion whatsoever. Oh, and they are all Democrats!

Mikey, I couldn’t agree more. We have to stand up to these people, and stop letting them define reality or ‘morality’. Otherwise, we are going to be a failed species.

Why do Bush and the Repugs hate the troops so much that they intentionally started an unbelievable quagmire and sent honest, decent, sincere troops to fight it and die in it under false pretenses?

And why is annieangel so full of hate for the troops and all of humanity that she thinks this is a good idea?

annie, if the current situation in Iraq was part of the plan, Bush and his Repugs are far, far worse than anyone here has ever implied.

Satan loves them all for the great work they are doing in making Jesus look bad by claiming to act in his name.

How you gonna stop the Shi’ites from killing Sunis?

Give them some Zagnuts. Problem solved.

Donut,

If you look back on it, and use the brain God gave you, it seems pretty clear that all of “this” was part of the plan. I mean, it’s like it’s still part of the plan, because there is no progress, just escalation of violence in Iraq.

No one is doing anything to stop it, right?

Just post Ruppert’s IP address, Brad, before I have to arrange for him to be fucked to death by annieanal. I want to know which branch of the GOP’s paying him.

Why are you arguing with annie? There is no greater waste of time.

She’s a cracker who lives for the attention she gets by trolling this board. Don’t encourage her.

“It’s a quagmire, and Bush is brilliant and never does anything wrong, so he must have MEANT it to be a quagmire.”

That’s how stupid she is.

Thing is, she’s half right. Not that all is going swimmingly in the supersecretgenius plan, but that they never gave a damn about spreading democracy or improving Iraq in the first place.
These folk aren’t as incompetent as we’d now like to think. As far as the ‘important’ things go, like making money and covering your ass from consequences for doing so, they’re still doing very well. Iraq is a money tap they don’t want turned off.

Thanks, Brad for hearing what I actually said.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November
The Gunpowder Treason and plot;
I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

LOL! That is the BEST compliment ever! I love it! Thank You! 🙂

And to the person who asked me if we are to be no better than saddam–(I forget who right now…blame the vanilla whiskey) I believe we CAN be better than him….but with this administration, our country has no choice, really. We are stuck with stupid, self-involved,self-preserving people in power, and this is the result: It’s the Frankenstein Paradigm: When you create the monster, you must destroy the monster, just to show you aren’t as monstrous. A Mobius Paradox, perhaps…but there it is.

Annie, stop being a choadgargler, if I may coin a term.

What’s all this “we” stuff? The Iraqi courts tried and convicted Saddam, not “we.”

Smiling Mortician

Wow. Look what happens when a person takes off for a few hours to, oh I dunno, live life for a while.

It’s true that annie’s an unspeakably amoral troll. It’s also true that she spoke, perhaps unwittingly, an essential truth that a different brad pointed out and that she ridiculously thanked him for noticing: Bushco never gave a rat’s ass about how they might extricate themselves and the rest of the world from the ginormous clusterfuck they created, because they knew, I mean they knew, that they couldn’t lose.

Either they’d retain control of all branches of government and therefore keep playing until the zero-sum was up, or they’d lose control and thus be able to blame the absolutely powerless Democrats for not having a valid solution ready to go — as annie the goddamned troll has just pointed out quite clearly.

Jesus hates annie — not so much because she’s evil, but because she’s a willing tool of evil.

HEY!

I am the one who brought this to your attentions!!!

But you have ridiculously limited imaginations. 🙂

I’ll admit, it takes a vast imagination to believe that the U.S. has made “not a single mis-step” in Iraq. Annie really believes that the current situation is just what Bush wanted. Read “Rebuilding America’s Defenses.” This isn’t how it was supposed to go.

Prove it. 🙂 You just prove it. 🙂

BushCo, as you say, will just keep smiling liek the cat who ate the canary. 🙂

And why say “wanted”, say “wants.” It’s happening right now.

And I’ll be generous, they did make mistakes. It should have never taken this long to get to this point. They didn’t realise how much the Iraqis actually wanted peace.

The Dems have a variety of ideas as to how to simultaneously minimize the damage to our interests and resolve the mess in Iraq. Perhaps their plan is not a silver bullet that will magically solve all of the problems there – but it is still a big improvement over the admit-no-error-until-2008 “plan” that Bush and company provide. Listen to Dean tell it:

[a]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O1tP2EWBE0[/a]

I think the reason why people think there is no Democratic plan is because a) different Dems have different ideas (we’ve never been the party of lockstep conformity), and b) the ideas are complicated and nuanced and don’t make for splashy copy.

Much as it pains me to say, everyone’s favorite trollita is at least partially right.

Planned Chaos.

It’s SOOO much easier to steal when there’s a whole lotta war going on.

She’s wrong, however, in assuming that the master plan was to make all the scary musselmen kill each other off so that we could claim all the oil for Jeebus. It was all about emptying the U.S. Treasury (check!), giving assloads of money to Halliburton and the oil companies and the Defense industry (check!), and gutting the U.S.Constitution so that the fascists can rule with an iron fist once the public wises up to steps one and two above (check!)

I didn’t say we wanted the oil.

I am so fucking sick of hearing, “The Democrats don’t have a plan! The Democrats don’t have a plan! Lawdamighty, all they do is criticize, when they have no better idea themselves!” STOP GETTING OUR TROOPS FUCKING KILLED, how’s that for a plan?

It’s like going to a doctor with a migraine, and the doctor says, “Wow, this looks bad. I think we’re going to have to amputate your leg.” And you say, “Doc, it’s my head that hurts. I don’t see how losing the leg would help anything.” And the doctor says, “Hey, fucker, who’s got the medical degree here? All you do is criticize! You think you have any better ideas? Huh? Huh?”

STOP GETTING OUR TROOPS FUCKING KILLED. That is the Democrats’ plan for 2006. That’s Step One. Once we have our troops out of FUCKING MORTAL PERIL, we can take the time to figure out how to fix the Middle East that we have broken so very badly. But that’ll take time and negotiation, preferably with a chief executive who isn’t a complete and utter dillhole, so in the meantime, we need to work at NOT GETTING OUR TROOPS FUCKING KILLED.

Time and negotiation have worked wonders for the middle east in the past. *eye roll*

So the democrats plan is to bring the troops home and negotiate over time with the different factions in Iraq who will listen to us or….what??

Oh yeah, good plan. :/ Then we can all go on a picnic and forget all about that silly middle east.

Couple more till 40 posts in this thread, annieangel.

You don’t sound desperate, much.

Can’t stand it that I’m right, can you?

🙂

How many posts is this? Since you are keeping track and all. 🙂

Now count how many times other people say my name. 🙂

I’m going to bed, but I hope I’ve given you all something to think about. When people have power and money already, what is it that they really could want from a situation like this?

Nighty night, try not to dream about me. 😉

BEST THREAD EVAR

Dammit, I hate when I show up late to the party. Annie suggesting that spreading war in the Middle East is a GOOD thing and Gary just … being Gary.

I wanna play now too.

Annie, Gary, you’re both out-of-your-tree fucking nuts.

This is from Billmon
http://billmon.org/archives/002929.html
” “Our mission is to provide fair and balanced news coverage for all Iraqis, and to hell with the filthy, murderous Sunni scum. Let them choke on their own blood,” an Al-Iraqiya spokesman explained. ”

Oh, please GOD let that be an accurate translation.

Time and negotiation have worked wonders for the middle east in the past. *eye roll*

And the vicious cycle of violence is so much better.

Prove it. You just prove it.

Actually, the burden of proof lies on the positive statement, which is yours in this case.

And even if this is what they wanted (which is a distinct posibility), you act like you’re so fucking proud of it. Do you enjoy the suffering of others?

Those people need Christ.

What’s that? Some sort of hand lotion? 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 pretentious emoticon 🙂 🙂 🙂

I don’t want the war to end. I want it to spread all over the middle east.

…You’re actually saying you’re actually happy that hundreds of thousands of people are needlessly dead, and that you want more? Let me spell it out for you: THIS IS NOT A VIDEO GAME. These are real people, with real thoughts and feelings, and real loved one, and they aren’t coming back. Why don’t you spit on the graves of the soldiers while you’re at it? It would probably be in the best intrest of society if you never communicate with anyone ever again. You make me sick.

Christians never ever fight each other. Not even once. Never happened, never will.
…Totally.

What solution do the democrats offer?
===========================================

Accountability.

Ruppert deported to Syria. Claims he isn’t from there.

LOL!

Damn. I’m always late to the party.

But…annie is simply vile.

It’s not even funny anymore. It’s incredibly depressing to realize that there is actually a living human being that can say something like this – “I don’t want the war to end. I want it to spread all over the middle east. ”

I am saddened to think that there are people like her in the world.

annie’s right! And Bush meant for the Federal Katrina response to be so incredibly poor. I mean, c’mon–he’s not stupid or incompetent or anything. It must have been on purpose. He was trying to wipe out thousands of registered Democrats at one fell swoop. He simply underestimated their desire to live. They were supposed to die much faster than they did.

A sufficient level of incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.

You all are so full of it. Iraq was intentionally made to slide into chaos, for reasons not yet obvious.

If I’m lying, tell me what is being done today in Iraq to end the sectarian violence? I mean how many times will we hear, “iraq is sliding into civil war”…..what’s the problem why still “sliding” into civil war? Huh? NOTHING is being done to stop the violence and NOTHING will be done.

Civil war is the GOAL, a civil war in which we become nothing more than observers, maybe we help out here and there depending on what it is we want.

Iraq has been “sliding” toward civil war for so long that if someone really wanted to stop that, it would have at least been tried. But it hasn’t. 🙂

I’m finding this increasingly repugnant and obscene. Think I’ll change over to World o’ Crap today.

Hate Encrusted Eyes

And not only with no solution in sight, it seems as if the problem’s getting worse…

mikey

Welcome to the idiotocracy, mikey. Now watch this drive.

Annie darling. Operation Together Forward? Remember. Door to door in Bagdad? Trenches around the city?
Saying civil war is the goal is simply moving the goal posts so that you can continue to support our glorious republican masters in Washington. See, they planned it all along, tee hee hee.

The fact is, the neo con morons tried to stop the civil war and they failed. Failed failed failed. And if it is what they planned all along then why are our troops still getting shot at? Why not disengage? Hey annie answer me that. If we got the civil war we wanted all along, Why are we standing in the way? Let them go at it, no? It doesn’t make sense Annie. Maybe God in his infinate wisdom wants the Democrats to win so that Bush will have bi partizan cover leave Iraq. You see God in his infinate wisdom planned this all along. Tee hee hee.

Annie loves war and death and dying, and has no compassion or empathy for those who suffer. She’s a fake Christian. She uses her Christianity solely as a club to beat others with. She’s pathetic.

We aren’t standing in the way. We don’t go near the real trouble spots.

We don’t go near the real trouble spots.

Tell that to the tens of thousands of troops who have been horribly maimed. Go visit a VA hospital and ask the armless, legless victims of Operation Permanent Quagmire if they’ve been near “real trouble spots.”

But we know you won’t do that. You’re busy sucking down Mickey’s Big Mouths and trolling the internet all day. 🙂

You can spout all the fucking shit you want, you can deny the truth and you can look away from the truth, but the truth is, without Sadr the President in Iraq would not be the President in Iraq.

We don’t go in Sadr City itself, not even to search for abducted soldiers. Maybe we should let Israel take care of things in Iraq???

Hate Encrusted Eyes

And you point is?
The fact that our military in Iraq will not go into Sadr City is proof of what exactly? Proof that we are masterminding some fantastic civil war strategy?
Here’s an idea, maybe it’s proof that we are not in control in Iraq. The Shi’ites are in control and calling the shots about who goes where. Heh.Ha Heh Heh.

BTW what do you think of the Army Times editorial? Maybe God is asking Rumsfeld to step down? Maybe that’s all part of his infinate wisdom too. Hallelujah

“The Shi’ites are in control and calling the shots about who goes where. Heh.Ha Heh Heh.”

That’s my point.

See, Hate Encrusted Eyes, we’re winning! That was the plan all along, for our buddy Moqtada Al-Sadr to be running shit. The fact that we can’t go into Sadr City is proof that we are defeating terrorism. Duh!

The fact that we aren’t going into Sadr City shows that we want Sadr City to be a hotbed of death squad recruitment.

And the fact that I have a rock in my hand and no tigers are around, shows that this rock repels tigers.

Patkin, I’d like to buy your rock.

The fact that you are wish to remain clueless and watch the Simpsons shows that Bush can pretty much do whatever he wants with no worries. 🙂

The fact that you are wish to remain clueless and watch the Simpsons shows that Bush can pretty much do whatever he wants with no worries.

No, actually it’s because of mindless Kool-Aid drinking losers like you that Bush can do whatever he wants with no worries. But that’s about to change tomorrow when you fuckers lose control of Congress. 🙂

My own speculation is that the race isn’t as close as the first four polls indicate but the Democratic advantage isn’t as large as the final three polls would suggest. I’ve always suspected some narrowing of the Democratic lead as unsatisfied Republicans come to the conclusion that they will hold their nose and support the GOP candidate…primarily based upon fears that Democratic control of the Senate might jeopardize future Supreme Court appointments…which better explains the close Senate races in contrast to the growing evidence of Democratic strength in House races.

I can’t recall a time when concerns about the make up of the Supreme Court were more prevalent and I cannot find a better explanation for the disparate polling information that seems to show Democrats doing very well in contested House races while the Senate races seem to be tightening…and some of these Senate races actually appear to be trending Republican. Supporting the possibility that the Supreme Court consideration can explain voter differences between the House and Senate races would be the argument that there is clear voter opposition to the war in Iraq and a desire to impose some accountability on the Bush administration…and that would be in the form of a Democratic House.

Historically, in elections where the House switches control from one party to the other, the Senate also follows suit. Current polling in the individual Senate races seems to indicate that this election could defy that historical trend. I would argue that this may well happen based upon voter concerns about Supreme Court appointments which may lead enough swing voters to vote against their GOP House candidate while still supporting their GOP Senate candidate.

After all, it is the Senate that must approve Supreme Court appointments and voters may still favor conservative appointments…especially if one considers the opposition to same-sex marriage and a general belief that the Democratic Party is against any limitations on abortion rights. In other words, if voters want their unhappiness with the war in Iraq to be heard while still endorsing the social issues they seem to favor, the best solution would be to elect a Democratic House and maintain a Republican Senate.

That’s the beauty of it. Nothing that happens politically anymore will make a difference, the ball has been set in motion. 🙂

The ball will stop rolling sooner or later. We can stay in Iraq and pretend that there’s some hope for success, but one day we will have to leave with our tail between our legs. The only question remaining is how heinous the aftermath will be. I’m thinking radical theocracies all across the Middle East and very, very high oil prices. What does the future look like in AnnieWorld? Mass conversions of Muslims to Christianity, and freeance and peeance for all?

The future looks like this:

We make the Shi’ites think they have a chance at gaining control over Iraq, and when it gets so bad that the fighting over there finaly becomes a full out civil war, we sit back and watch as the majority Sunni Muslims of the world react. 🙂 Then we have a good reason to close our borders to all Muslims from anywhere on the globe. We should also make it impossible for any Muslim to travel outside of their own countries and after their media centers are destroyed, they’re back to the days of caravans and poetic kidnappings. 🙂

And of course, Iran is Shi’ite, and Israel is insane, so there’s that going in our favor. Eventually, they all kill each other, or damage each others infasturctures so badly that there is no chance of Islam organized into an entity ever threatening world peace again.

The fact is that Annieangel is the genocidal dust bunny of history.

In other words, let them bomb each other back into the stone ages, where they seem to like it. 🙂

i call bullshit on this

Why are you still arguing with the stupidest person in the world, She Who Cannot Be Named? Hasn’t she proven many times over in this thread her complete lack of anything worthwhile to say?

Seriously, at this point you’re just killing brain cells.

No one is arguing. I’m educating the people here to the truth. They seem to have realized I’m right, but don’t want to admit it, as to do so to them would be to somehow admit defeat or something.

i call bullshit on this

Let’s have a serious discussion here. For example, which is your favorite Raymond Chandler novel? Your favorite Velvet Underground album? The relative merits of the Beatles vis-a-vis the Stones?

These, of course, are all pointless discussions. But no discussion is more pointless than a discussion with She Who Cannot Be Named.

LOL. Let’s dicsuss why Israel bombed the shit out of Lebanon and created an economic disaster which forced the populace to turn to terrorists for money to rebuild their homes. 🙂

Let’s dicsuss why they bombed Lebanon for a whole MONTH and no one really gave a shit. 🙂

This pot is hard to stir but stirred it will be! But obviusly not from outside. 😀

You are totally right, ICBOT. You have no idea how bored I am to be even engaging in this, um, “discussion.” I’m in a hotel room in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and have no access to drugs, so talking to Annie is the only way I have to kill brain cells.

JK47, I believe that rock is on sale for $873 billion.

My cynicism has grown so profound during the last six years that I can think of several reasons why Bush would want a quagmire in Iraq. A fundy bring on the apocalypse thing, or a big money siphon, or the circus part of bread and circuses (the tax cut being the bread). Or, look at the crazy war powers he has–would those be as easy to sustain without a visible “war”? It’s a psychological trick, an actual “war” to lend credence to the absurd “war on terror.”

Maybe since it’s clear that he’s intentionally appointing people who will run government agencies into the ground, it’s not that much of a leap to think he’s doing something similar elsewhere.

If you were further south, JK47, we might just have to meet up for lunch.

And seriously, folks – the only thing stupider than our resident troll is any attempt to seriously engage with our resident troll.

When I worked for a bank, I once got a phone call from a very concerned elderly gentleman. My company had the high tech ATMs that cash your checks for you. He had gone to one to cash his check, you see, but was concerned that the little man who lives inside the machine might be sick, because my customer had put his driver’s license in the machine for identification, but never got it back.

Talking to the troll is this level of stupid. Only my customer had the excuse of having been born sometime between the wars.

Aquagirl is using her brain.

Why are we back to responding to Princess Narcissist, exactly? Much as I love the fine sport of troll-flaming, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that she doesn’t believe a word of the verbal diarrhea she spews out of her mouth. She’s just saying these things to get a rise out of people and from the looks of it, it’s worked. The best way you can get to someone like this is to ignore them.

real deal randomguy here. i will say that it doesnt matter who votes anymore.

Gosh, folks, it left when it was ignored. You could just see it getting perturbed about that.

Gosh, folks, it left when it was ignored. You could just see it getting perturbed about that.

YES! Exactly. La Princesse (who, impressively, deserves my nom de Web far more than I do) is a troll in the classic sense. All she’s doing and all she cares about is getting a response. She’s trolling for comments, and too many people are responding. If I may say so myself, that really bites.

Don’t try to address the arguements the troll raises. It doesn’t care about what it’s saying; it just wants to be the center of attention. Willpower and solidarity, people. This is definately one case where if we all ignore it, it’ll go away.
