BLARGG!!!

The last comments thread has exploded into zaniness and spam-bottery. So consider this thread here an emergency open thread for now.

I’ll add some links or something in a bit.

Okay.

— Um, Adbusters is selling shoes now? Dunno what to think of that.

Interesting

Classic. Oh, did I say classic? Surely I meant something like “ever-embarassing”, and “conspiracy theory”. But then politics began in 2001. This piece is Just. Too. Radical!

The Decline of American Civilization: The Final Bush Years. While previous albums were uptempo and raucous, this is dirgy, almost Swedish in its death metal vibe. Yet it’s more honest because so pessimistic.

The Kingfish pushed FDR left, which was a good thing, and more than pays for his spawning of Gerald L.K. Smith on American politics (not to mention on my state, where Smith settled, the adornments of his Jesus Freakery polluting a once beautiful Ozark hillside).

I like the list of the people condemned to death, personally. It’s basically everyone who doesn’t have an irrational hatred for all that isn’t white, straight and Christian…and this couple of comedians. They’re really sentenced to death.

You just don’t get that attention to detail anymore.

OK folks, I’ve got your Blargg!!! right here.

Good night!

“I’m making a duck breast and pasta…”

I just thought I’d drop by with a bottle of pinot noir…..

Marie Jon, if you’re reading this, I love you. I’m not “closed-minded,” as you’ve pointed out these other scoundrels to be. I’m an anything-goes moral relativist, like you. Let us meld. You are as pure as the snow. I want to grok you and share water in the multi-verse, forever, rubbing small amounts of LSD on each others’ eyelashes and then licking it off as a symbol of affection.

You so crazy – I think I wanna have yo’ baby!

I’ve been enjoying Marie Jon”s friend, Gabriel Garnica (see her comment in the previous thread). He’s great. I just read his “Illegals Go Postal,” published last week in The New Media Journal. Some highlights from the article include this:

As is often the case, the liberal establishment and media insult and offend the good by mixing them with the bad in their relentless quest to make their typically destructive point. We see this in our public schools where good students suffer while liberals cuddle bullies and disrespectful ghouls. We see this in Iraq where brave soldiers are spit upon daily by the media while it kisses the feet of our enemies. Not to be outdone, we see this in the immigration debate where liberals group illegal trespassers with legal, humble and respectful immigrants pretending that all immigrants are equal.

and this:

I wish that all those liberal clowns who pretend to care about the weak and voiceless would just focus on caring and protecting the weak and voiceless unborn whom they polish off like flies at a barbecue.

and finally this version of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” as Garnica imagines it would be sung by Senators Clinton and Schumer:

Imagine there’s no border,
It’s easy if you try,
No visas or green cards to slow us,
Above us only “Hi,

Imagine all those undocumented,
They’re merely misunderstood,
Stomping and burning our flag,
They would become Americans if they could,

Pretty nice thread ya got here. Too bad if something were to happen to it, like if a bunch of white supremecists came in all cutting and pasting. Mebbe you should take a look over at FDL, if the servers weren’t getting hosed. 9/11 conspiracy stuff.

Ever hear any of those theories? You might, if you’re not careful.

Just a friendly warning. Like I said, nice thread.

I live in Texas, and not a day goes by that a Mexican day laborer doesn’t stop me in the street, grab my flag away from me, stomp on it, set it on fire, and then retire to a nearby independent coffee shop to write pamphlets with titles like “Communism with Aztec Characteristics” and “Sabado Gigante – Stooge of the Bankers”. It’s actually really annoying. I hate Texas.

the weak and voiceless unborn whom they polish off like flies at a barbecue.

Wow, that is good. Because I know I spend about half my time at any barbecue killing flies.

Who knew mariogeorge had a sense of humor?

I hope you guys have learned a lesson. Going for the traffic by doing another piece on Marie Jon’, just ’cause she’s teh hot. And look what happened. She comes in like fucking Kali and brings a bunch of spamming nazis with her.

tsk tsk.

clearly there are people that don’t want the 9/11 motives known.
ABC’s movie just lied saying that bin laden said the attacks would continue “until you convert to Islam”
this movie is very ugly propaganda

what bin Laden has said has been crystal clear.

“We swore that America wouldn’t live in security until we live it truly in Palestine. This showed the reality of America, which puts Israel’s interest above its own people’s interest. America won’t get out of this crisis until it gets out of the Arabian Peninsula, and until it stops its support of Israel.” -Osama bin Laden, October 2001

“… the Mujahideen saw the black gang of thugs in the White House hiding the truth, and their stupid and foolish leader, who is elected and supported by his people, denying reality and proclaiming that we (the Mujahideen) were striking them because we were jealous of them (the Americans), whereas the reality is that we are striking them because of their evil and injustice in the whole of the Islamic World, especially in Iraq and Palestine and their occupation of the Land of the Two Holy Sanctuaries.” -Osama Bin Laden , February 14 , 2003

No one should be suppressing the facts.

What motivated the 9/11 hijackers?
The video shows the 9/11 Commission Hearing where the question “What motivated them to do it?” was finally asked. See FBI Special Agent Fitzgerald explain the motive. This testimony was kept out of the 9/11 Commission Report and no recommendation was given to address the main motive for the 9/11 attacks.

the weak and voiceless unborn whom they polish off like flies at a barbecue.

The abortion clinics use Raid® Flying Insect Killer to cause the abortions? Eeew!
On a slightly more serious note, those thrice-damned nazis are posting hit lists in the other thread, and I thought death threats were the one place comments writers were never to go,

I’m not “closed-minded, as you’ve pointed out these other scoundrels to be.

Nothing beats being called “closed-minded” by a virginal Jesus freak who thinks America’s problems will all go away if we all just throw our unconditional support to George W. Bush. It was pretty awesome. I pictured Marie’s face getting all red and flushed as she was typing that.

She’s kind of hot, but I like a girl who’s into a little kink. My guess it’s missionary-position only with Marie, and you have to marry her first. It’d probably be impossible to get some Rusty Trombone or Cincinnati Bow-Tie action going with her.

Heh, that’s funny. My first “big-time” link to my little blog, and right under it is Gen. Butler’s pamphlet (the “classic”, War Is A Racket), on whom I was just brushing up a week or so ago. Very overlooked piece of history, that; when I first heard of him and then read a bit about him a few years ago, I was wondering, “why the heck didn’t I learn about this guy in HS history classes? Might’ve been a lot more informative and interesting than a lot of the other stuff.” Wikipedia links for those interested in more about him: Butler himself, and the Business Plot, in which apparently a group of businessmen wanted his help in replacing FDR.

And yes, as grampaw has pointed out at my own place, I’m inclined to agree with him in the friendly little love-fest he’s been having with Retardo about the merits of democracy, and whence they derive. Which, I think, makes me feel a tad dirty now. But there it is.

Adbusters have been selling those sneakers for at least two years. As have Friends of the Earth. Made by strictly volunteer child labor from suicidal tofuttibeast hide.

Sorry about Smith, Retardo. Law of unintended consequences. I don’t think Huey would have put up with that kind of thing in the long run — he had a tendency to squash dissenters — as the African-Americans in Louisiana were one of his primary constuitiencies.

Yeah I got some sulphur you can smell right here.

/braaap

Why does god always write so damn much? You’d think he’d be concise, as busy as he is…

I don’t think Huey would have put up with that kind of thing in the long run — he had a tendency to squash dissenters —

This may be the first time I have ever seen that phrase used positively.

One thing to be said for what Adbusters is selling is that it’s union made. It’s almost impossible to find any union made sneakers anywhere else. I know because I’ve tried.

Granted, while buying union-made stuff doesn’t ensure that the manufacturing takes place in a non-authoritarian plant, it is far more likely that they’re not struggling to feed themselves and their families than are non-union workers. Having been both, I can say with confidence that I was far more miserable, poorly paid, and treated like some exploited beast of burden in the non-union shop. Come to think of it, had I actually been a beast of burden, owned by the manager, I would have probably had it far easier, since normally people take care not to exhaust their horses, mules, etc. and put them in situations where they could easily injure themselves.

digamma, if you’re talking about dealing with people pushing racist views and/or fascist ideologies, I don’t think you can use the word “squash” in anything but a positive light.

A lot of people claim Long was a fascist himself, but they usually also mention a quote from him in one form or another (that I haven’t found the original source for myself) along the lines of “When fascism comes to America, it will call itself anti-fascism”.

Jeebus, WTF is going on around here? Those moronic fuckwit white supremecists are everywhere, it seems. Why doesn’t the NSA go after them? Never mind, I know the answer.

Remind me not to get sick and not comment on blogs for a while, only to return to white supremecist fuckwit spam on all my favorite blogs, OK?

The world’s going to hell in a handbasket.

Hey! Get off my lawn! *brandishes green paisley walking stick*

The Long quote regarding fascism is:

“If fascism ever comes to America, it will come wrapped in an American flag.”

My personal favorite Long quote:

“Quote me as saying that that Imperial bastard [the Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan] will never set foot in Louisiana, and that when I call him a son-of-a-bitch I am not using profanity but am referring to the circumstances of his birth.”

oh yeah. thanks for that SOB quote. I’d read that one before but forgotten all about it. great stuff.

The “business plot” is an enlightening read, plutocrats planning on attempting a coup against FDR, using WWI vets to be led by Butler. I think it would make a timely movie; think John Sayles.

> Um, Adbusters is selling shoes now? Dunno what to think of that.

They’ve been hawking those anti-Chucks (adorned with an anti-Swoosh) ever since Adbusters bête noire Nike bought Converse back in 2003. Not sure how long they’ve been peddling the boots.
