Our Government is Full of Shit. News at 11.
Baghdad’s morgue almost tripled its count for violent deaths in Iraq’s capital during August from 550 to 1,536, authorities said Thursday, appearing to erase most of what U.S. generals and Iraqi leaders had touted as evidence of progress in a major security operation to restore order in the capital.
Separately, the Health Ministry confirmed Thursday that it planned to construct two new branch morgues in Baghdad and add doctors and refrigerator units to raise capacity to as many as 250 corpses a day.
The morgue expansion plans and the final body count for August show the dramatic surge in violence in Baghdad since U.S.-led foreign troops entered Iraq in 2003. Baghdad’s morgue chiefly handles unidentified gunshot victims, now predominantly shot execution-style and often found with hands bound and showing signs of torture.
But hey- Charles Krauthammer still thinks this is a civil war we can win!
Above: A coffin-maker in Iraq. Is it just me, or do those coffins look photoshopped? Someone alert Michelle Malkin.
“Charles Krauthammer still thinks this is a civil war we can win!”
…And as “Chucky” surveys the charred rubble that is all that remains of Iraq, the thousands of corpses of dead Iraqi civilians, and the battered bodies of thousands more U.S. servicemen, he and all of the “wingchair commandoes” can pat themselves on the back for a job well done. What a swell prize!
Why would coffins have feet on them? They may be just oddly shaped coffee tables with built in storage. Or could it be that these are just packing crates for life-sized Gumby dolls sent by loving american school children to the suffering Iraqi children.
Of course the coffins are photoshopped. Given the current business climate, there’s no way he could maintain an inventory as large as that shown in the picture.
Darn liberal media! How about balancing that picture with one of a freshly-painted school?
Quick, someone get Confederate Yank-Me on that photoshopping thing!
“Why does this “coffin maker” have BOTH a radio AND a fan? I thought Iraq didn’t have electricity, huh huh huh! Fake! Fake!”
I don’t just see a coffin-maker. I see small business reaping the fruits of freedom and a free market. In a broader sense, I see a real opportunity here for Kellogg, Brown and Root to diversify by getting into the funeral industry. IF all those people are going to die anyway, they should be quick about it and reduce the surplus population.
The fact that these so-called coffins have feet is a dead giveaway, as already mentioned. They’re clearly cribs, for Shawn Bradley’s offspring. I doubt this picture is even from Iraq.
Health Ministries always expand the number of morgues in anticipation of democracy, freedom and peace. Always.
Everybody remember when Ann Coulter explained that electing Kerry would be good for the coffin makers and the body bag business?
I fucking *loathe* these people.
I’m sorry to say this, but El Rupperto is losing it. This should have sent him over to blame Cindy Sheehan or Atrios in a heartbeat.
He hasn’t had been on his game since apropos of nothing he mentioned Kos, Lamont and the “fascist welfare state.” I figured this would lure him for sure……oh well.
Chuck sez we’re in the game to win. That’s funny, John Robb seems to think we’ve already lost.

Those are soapbox carts for kids who suffer from motion sickness.
I know.
I was there.
Check this out. It will make you laugh so hard that you’ll throw up a little in your mouth. Or, like me, you can skip right over the “laugh” part and go straight to the “throw up a little in your mouth”.
Res,
Did you not notice that instead of “Weekly” it was “Weakly”? Does that still make it not funny?
Republicans are to humor what Maxim is to literature.
You really have to read that main article all the way through. It plumbs heretofore unknown depths of insanity. Details here. (preemtive apology for blogwhoring)
“Paid for by the Republican National Committee”?
What the fuck?
Are they look Scrooge McDuck (tm-Disney!) swimming in their piles of loot safely secreted away from the Beagle Boys, that they can blow their wad (sorry for the imagery) on this dross?
My dead grandmother phrased it perfectly:
“I’m sure the government isn’t telling us stuff because it’s for our own good.”
This from a woman who thought FDR was worse than Stalin and who belonged to the John Birch Society.
Wow, that’s a “hilarious” site. Complete with John Conyers saying such realistic things as “The Democrat Party was elected for a reason.”
An awful lot of wingnut welfare went into the creation of that site, that’s for sure.
So, Charles Krauthammer writes a whole editorial entitled “A Civil War We Can Still Win” and yet he doesn’t talk about how we can win until 3 paragraphs from the end. And then, when he does comment on how we can win, his biggest suggestion is “We can totally beat 2/3s of the insurgency if we just give them what they want.” In other words, evaluating the war is cowardous, but appeasement is the American way.
Clearly the “humanitarian” liberals want to pull out of Iraq, where terrorists are massacring people, and they want to go to Darfur, or some other place where they have a pet project going on.
The deaths in Iraq are on the hands of the people who embolden the terrorists, those people who do the emboldening are the left.
But then again, the left is more busy trying to censor the history of 9/11, because they know that Clinton bares a majority of responsibility for 9/11.
You know who was right about the Iraq War right from the beginning? Howard Dean and the “looney left.” Oh, but he screamed kind of loud during a speech once, so he’s crazy and everything he’s ever said should be discredited.
This country is getting exactly what it deserves.
Gary, I’m a lefty. Does that mean I’m an emboldenerizer?
The deaths in Iraq are on the hands of the people who embolden the terrorists, those people who do the emboldening are the left.
Now, that takes a brass set of balls. The blood is on the hands of the “emboldeners,” not the people who made the disastrous decision to invade Iraq, then completely fucked everything up beyond all recognization. See, Gary, that’s why you guys are going to lose this November. Buck-passing and finger-pointing aren’t going to cut it, and that’s all you losers have left.
The fact is the Republicans are headed for a crushing defeat this November because the American people are sick of their lies.
America Weakly is a step in the right direction for the GOP.
They also need to work harder in tying the Democrats to appeasement and surrender.
The Republicans in the House should introduce resolutions saluting Path to 9/11, condemning Cindy Sheehan, and expressing approval of the job the President is doing.
And those resolutions will tie the Democrats to the far left fringe.
The Republicans in the House should introduce resolutions saluting Path to 9/11, condemning Cindy Sheehan, and expressing approval of the job the President is doing.
Yes they should, Gary. I would completely support this. I would LOVE to see the House Republicans introduce a resolution expressing approval of the job the president is doing. But we’re not going to see that, Gary. Know why? The people don’t think the president is doing a good job. And those Reps want to get re elected. You’re going to have to get used to it Gary – The Republican politicians, while every bit as dishonest, are a little bit smarter than you…
mikey
The Republicans in the House should introduce resolutions saluting Path to 9/11, condemning Cindy Sheehan, and expressing approval of the job the President is doing.
I really wish they would do all that, Gary. God, that’s like my wet dream. They’d get their asses kicked even worse. The fact is, House Republicans are doing exactly the opposite– they’re running away from Dear Failure and his mighty 36% approval rate as fast as they can.
The fact is that nothing legitimate suggests that the GOP is going to lose both houses.
As much as the liberal media wants the Democrats to win, it won’t happen.
The fact is that Americans are smart enough to realize that Speaker Pelosi + Majority Leader Murtha + Majority Leader Reid = Recession, Defeat in the War on Terror, and Amnesty for illegal aliens in the US.
And America doesn’t want that.
And those cowardly Republicans who do run from Bush will realize their error if the Republican base doesn’t turn out enough to re-elect them.
Republicans who bite the hand that feeds them will suffer the consequences.
Anyways, if the GOP was running from Bush, how come Bush and Cheney are campaigning and fundraising for so many candidates?
The fact is that nothing legitimate suggests that the GOP is going to lose both houses.
All it takes is one, beeyatch. Then you guys are done. Ruined. Fucked.
What exactly does “Defeat in the War on Terror” entail, anyway? Bin Laden gets his caliphate? 9/11 happens every day? We all have to learn Arabic?
Clinton bares a majority of responsibility
Freudian slip.
I’m fairly certain that Clinton’s penis has done enough “bare”ing. Please leave him out of this. He had been out of office almost a year. Let’s give credit where credit is due.
Y’know, looking at that photo made me realize another benefit of the War on Terror: no fat Iraqis. Or at least no fat dead Iraqis. Thanks to us, they’d all be living longer, if they weren’t dying so fast. But do they thank us? Does the treasonous MSM think to publish photos of Baghdad’s empty health clubs and ice cream parlors full of happy, svelte Iraqis? Of course not. We’re reduced to scrutinizing images of one of Iraq’s many successful coffinmakers to discern the benefits bestowed by Dear Leader. Shameful.
Actually, Ruppert, Speaker Hastert + Majority (Ex-)Leader Delay + Majority Leader Frist (+ Bush + Cheney + N, if N = Republicans) = recession, defeat in the War on Terror, and amnesty for illegal aliens in the U.S. You’re projecting a bit there. Also, you need to need to dig up your old copies of “Highlights for Children” and brush up on your capitalization. Why are so many rightwingers semi-literate? Is it really just a coincidence?
And why do you, like so many wingnuts, make empty threats about “cowardly Republicans” who “will suffer the consequences” of getting the hell away from W and Dick? What are these “consequences”? Universal healthcare? A living wage? World peace? Wouldn’t Jesus approve of these things? And if he would, why do you wingnuts hate them?
Just asking.
Shorter Gary Ruppert: Guns don’t kill people, peace activists do.
God, imagine what it would be like in Baghdad if those fuckers were emBOLDened! It’d be what, atomic IEDs? Ten Thousand Peeps dying every month? Yep, we sure don’t want to embolden them…
mikey
is it just me, or did Gary just take a position, and then refute it himself in the next sentence?
I see that Gary was posting up a storm today! I was referring to the post about the dire effects that will befall the GOP running from Bush, and then proceeding to assert that no one ws doing that.
is it just me, or did Gary just take a position, and then refute it himself in the next sentence?
That’s Our Gary!
No kidding, that’s why everyone thinks there has to be a couple of Garybots running around. Not even Orwell could envision such the mental gymanstics to hold the various contradictory and fantastical ideas that you hear from the Rupperts around here.
“The Republicans in the House should introduce resolutions saluting Path to 9/11, condemning Cindy Sheehan, and expressing approval of the job the President is doing.”
Oh, yeah, our legislators should spend their valuable time voting on a TV show, ganging up on a bereaved mom, and praising a guy whose approval rate is 33%.
That’d be great politics.
Dang it, sorry about the grammatical error there. there’s an extra ‘such the’ in there.
Comes from reading four Ruppert quotes in rapid succession.
Someone alert Malkin. Those coffins look suspiciously like Soap Box Derby cars without the wheels. Damn Reuters. ROTFL!
Hi Gary, the Senate Intelligence Committee finally released its report. Why don’t you read it, maybe you’ll learn something.
Look, the moment the Democrats gain control of either the house or senate, Osama will call Nancy Pelosi in order to negotiate America’s surrender. Gary can see this, why can’t anybody who isn’t on netvocate’s payroll? And once Nacy has surrendered to the Terrorists, she’ll start investigating the Bush Administration, which isn’t her job anyways. I mean if Congress was supposed to investigate what the government is doing then what have they been doing the past 6 years?
The deaths in Iraq are on the hands of the people who embolden the terrorists
Ahem. “Bring it on.” Thank you for listening.
But then again, the left is more busy trying to censor the history of 9/11, because they know that Clinton bares a majority of responsibility for 9/11.
That’s Clinton bears, Gary. Try to stop thinking about the man’s penis every time you use his name. People might think you’re… no, never mind, too easy.
Bush & Cheney are busy going to CLOSED fundraising events, where the hard-core Bushistas (rich AND stupid, what a great combination!) are still betting on the Repubs to diebold enough votes to keep a narrow majority. But many, many Repub candidates — including those incumbent Repubs who couldn’t get enough face time with Dear Leader just a couple of years ago — won’t let voters see them in the same photo with Bush or Cheney now. After six years, normal people are tired of hearing the Cheney administration blame everything from 9/11 to unsightly nose hair on Clinton. So even the Repubs are edging away from Bush, because they may be lazy, venal, and sanctimonious but they’re not ALL bone-stupid (unlike most wingnuts).
Here’s a review of the 9/11 fake-u-drama, Gary. Why don’t you read it, maybe you’ll learn something.
I betcha Iran is supplying him with the wood!!
Nails are from Syria!!
SeE!! Tehres you’re Terror connection right threr!!
A Western nation moving to help in Darfur would be “a pet project” ???
The U.S. Congress should pass a resolution specifically condemning a single U.S. citizen, … Mrs. Sheehan, whose son was killed in the American invasion of Iraq. ???
_____________________________________________________________
Look — I don’t care if Gary is an impoverished Mexican kid.
I say, Fuck the little moron, and paper the White House with subpoenas.

More then half the Iraq population is below 18 years of age. The coffins are perfectly sized.
Want job security? Make coffins. That’s The American Dream(tm), no?
Photoshopped coffins to be occupied by photoshopped corpses. When will this blatant liberal fakery end?? The US has already won Iraq and there have been parades and hugs and flowers, all of which have been photoshopped out of the media.
Bush is actually eight feet tall and Cheney’s visage is that of a rosy cheeked cherub. But you wouldn’t know that because its all been photoshopped.
this is how George W. Bush creates economic prosperity in Iraq.
this is how George W. Bush creates economic prosperity in Iraq by enabling Iraqis to start small businesses.
that “America Weakly” site is fucking retarded. The alleged humor of the entire thing is premised on your understanding that they’re talking about what will happen one year from now if Dems win Congress. (that is, reading the date September 2007 in the upper left)
I’m glad to see the GOP pissing away money in this way. They did forget to leave out ‘Impeachment Hearings Begin Soon’. Funny, that.
oh….. heh… never mind re: impeachment.
Actually, in the style of CNN’s red “Breaking News” banners that appear at the toop of their main page, there’s a banner which reads, “Impeachment Hearings Gaveled In.”
It’s almost cute the way they think the thought of impeaching Shrubbya is upsetting to much of anyone.
It’s almost cute the way they think the thought of impeaching Shrubbya is upsetting to much of anyone.
Well, when that day finally gets here, Gary is going to cry himself to sleep with such force that he’ll be too dehydrated to wet his bed!
Often forgotten: conservative-hero Reagan provided ARMS to the Iranians *after* they held Americans hostage. Iran-contra wasn’t just appeasement, it was a treasonous act that sent the message to the Iranians that the US (or at least Republicans) would cut a deal to their benefit in secret.
How do you suppose that’s helping us NOW? If the liberals in this country had a talk-radio system like the right-wing has, there woudl be daily repetition of the point that conservative republicans betrayed the country to appease Iranian Islamic fundamentalists — after they took Americans hostage.
It’s worth repeating.

Don’t forget this was BEFORE he was president and the main goal was to INSURE the hostages were not released until AFTER the election.
Lesson ignored: Republicans will do whatever it takes to ‘win’ an election.
That’s unpossible!
“This country is getting exactly what it deserves.”
Not enough really, I think a 2nd American Civil war with 50-75 million dead would make an excellent start.
A freshly painted school? What about a new hospital too? What about education here in our own country? Where is that? I think it;s wrong to take over other countries just so US corps can enslave more people into the sweat shop trade. I’m sure Iraqi’s will enjoy sewing together walmart clothes for 20 cents an hour. Not one Bush family cronie is in the military but oh so ready to send someone else……freshly painted school indeed !!!!
