Will Someone Please Fire David Broder…

…and replace him with Billmon? Seriously, the dude rocks my world:

And, right on cue, we have the New York Times weighing in with a well-timed leak promising major U.S. troop reduction, beginning two months before the November elections. Now isn’t that a coincidence?…The next step, of course, will be for the same people who three days ago were demanding the execution of John Kerry and John Murtha for even daring to suggest a withdrawal timetable to immediately begin calling for a withdrawal timetable — that is, when they’re not hailing the Cheney administration for having won a smashing victory in Iraq. In fact it’s already started.

I really should have seen this coming. The tip off was the proposed amnesty for killers of U.S troops floated by one of Maliki’s aides several weeks ago, which was immediately greeted by a bevy of GOP heel clickers as the second coming of Nelson Mandela (thus stacking one stinking pile of hypocrisy on top of another.) In hindsight, it’s easy to see that they were just warming up for the BIG flip flop.

I can’t add anything to that, so I’ll just go back to orbiting Earth as a floating space fetus now.

You just wait. They’ll manage to tar US with the “They want to keep our troops in Iraq, where they’re being senselessly killed! Those lib bastards! ” I’d laugh if it wasn’t so predictable and sad.

The fact is that it is only traitorous Democrats who want to keep our troops in harm’s way when it is already clear that the democratically-elected government of Iraq is capable of taking over responsibility for the security of the country.

Whoever the Fake Gary was, thanks. That was really funny (and sadly predictable).

If it weren’t for Billmon going all CIA black-ops for months at a time, he would be the perfect blogger. No one can cut through it quite like him…

People like him should be given damn op-ed columns. Other than people like Krugman and Dionne, too many of our elite pundits are scared to call a spade a spade.

Are you SURE that was fake Gary?

It looks like real conservative commentary to me.

Hoosier, it will be real conservative commentary as soon as Drudge and Rush put the official stamp of approval on it.

Give it about two weeks.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that were Real Garyâ„¢, adjusting his talking points to mesh with the latest White House flippity-floppity. ‘Twon’t bother him one bit that we can dig up posts by him a month or two old arguing the polar opposite of this one. Utterly shameless.

Marq: What, like he’ll actually note a difference between his current statement and his previous statement?

I think you’re giving Real Gary(tm) far too much credit to suggest he’d even acknowledge a change to not be bothered with.

Shorter Gary: We aren’t at war with Iraq. We’ve never been at war with Iraq.

Zackly … we’re at war with Eastasia, and we’ve always been at war with Eastasia … and tractor production is up 300% for the year.

GOP “heel clickers”!!!

God, that’s a good line!

BTW, I told David Broder that he’s fired, but it turns out that he doesn’t respect mah authoritah.

“Zackly … we’re at war with Eastasia, and we’ve always been at war with Eastasia … and tractor production is up 300% for the year.”

Fuck yeah! I just LUV me some choco ration!
