There goes Grandpa again!

Good news everyone — Grandpa Roberts is being repressed!

For the last 30 years, researchers have proven time and time again that women were at least as likely as men to commit acts of family violence. [www.csulb.edu/~mfiebert/assault.htm]

We’d encourage you to click on the old link so you can see the results, such as:

[T]he author reports that women are more likely than men to throw something at their partners, as well as slap, kick, bite, punch and hit with an object. Men were more likely than women to strangle, choke, or beat up their partners[.]

And clearly — if those womens are throwing paper clips, it’s just as dangerous as being choked. Besides, why not rely on a collection of university studies and instead believe U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Statistics?

From their data, we can say that in 1998, women experienced at least 900,000 violent offences at the hands of an intimate, and men were victims of at least 160,000 violent crimes by an intimate partner.

Clearly though, that’s nonsense. Besides, in 1998 Janet Reno was the AG so there’s a clear marxist/feminist bias:

Sunday, Jun 12, 2005

Seventy-three percent of family violence victims were female and 76 percent of persons who committed family violence were male.

D’oh!

Back to Grandpa:

What about battered men seeking orders of protection?

What about them?

Eighty-three percent of those who killed a spouse were males, as were 75 percent of those who killed a boyfriend or girlfriend.*

Do you have something truly disgusting to say to conclude this week’s whine, Grand Papa?

Because the Violence Against Women Act, recently re-enacted by president Bush, now allows the LSC to provide services to all women who claim to be domestic violence victims, regardless of their immigration status. All aboard the domestic violence gravy train.

Thought so.

All aboard for the free domestic violence counseling gravy train.

I myself will be riding the free travel, room and board to Gitmo gravy train, since my impulse to sponge off the gubmint is so strong.

Oh wow. So he clearly disproves his idea that men are the real victims of domestic violence – and then says that just any woman can walk in off the street and ask for help from a provider.

Mmmm…. delicious domestic violence gravy. Really, it’s the only sauce I use on my meatloaf.

Doncha get it? Am I the only one that gets it?
These damn immigrants come here and get involved with abusive men, a few black eyes and a broken nose later, and they\’re riding on a gravy train with buscuit wheels all the way to mexistanerica! It\’s time to legalize spousal abuse now! Did I say spousal abuse? I meant spousal \”stress positions\”, next thing you know we\’ll have the Lying liberals saying we\’re torturing them! HELL-OH, they\’re the ones taking advantage of us remember?

So, let me get this straight. Women are as likely to commit acts of violence against their partners as men, except the statistics in the article he cites show they aren’t. Anyway, it’s all apparently a big ruse to get government handouts.

Whatever, dude.

Xenophobia and misogyny– the new peanut butter and jelly.

LA Confidential Pantload

When he re-enacted it, was he wearing the flight suit or a Confederate uniform?

In what will probably be the least snarky comment posted: for years, I was a victim of domestic abuse by my now ex-wife. I must say that the legal system was very equitable and supportive with my situation- they cared about the facts more than the sexes involved. However, the social services were definitely NOT supportive of an abused husband. They did not know what to do with me, and the social worker they assigned to my case treated me like shit, including telling me that men are the real cause of spousal abuse. The police were a mixed bag. Whenever I contacted the police and a male deputy arrived, I was not taken seriously. Whenever it was a female deputy, I was taken seriously.

In other words, I can say first hand that I have seen some discrimination on just this topic. Despite this, I can state unequivocably that Grandpa is full of shit.

My ex wife was a “thrower”. All manner of stuff, from consumer electronics to hamburgers to the industrial sized bottle of vicks formula 44. But I Never thought of it as abuse–I’ve always LOVED crazy women, so what elsse exactly was I expecting? I only divorced her when she started acting too sane. ‘Sides, her aim was pretty lousy..

So, which came first, the testosterone heavy, drunken, sexist man chicken or the egg?

I once had a couple as roommates, the guy was over 6 feet tall and weighed probably 180 lbs.
The woman was about 5 foot 5 and weighed maybe 130 lbs. Anyway, she kicked his ass all of the time. Once I heard screams of “Merl, help me” so I went to see what the problem was. It was the guy screaming help while the chick kicked his ass. I’m sure my laughter was a great help.
