I spent the day chasing down DHS spokespeople, who have been tied up preparing for a very important homeland security event later today: The First Lady is coming to visit their Washington office. Priorities, you know.

Right, because of course a hate-spewing criminal stalker should always get precedence over the wife of the President and her Secret Service detail…

Damn. When I read the title I thought DHS had actually, you know, taken out some rightwingnutzi extremist. It’s only a paper hit job. What a disappointment.

Shorter Michelle’s redoubtably retarded rant:

Hey is it my imagination or is that ol’ Gateway PunDick himself towering over her like a kenban overseeing a geisha ahead of her hanadai?

Why, everyone knows it’s the Left that’s dangerous. They caused one or two deaths 40 years ago. What has the Right ever done that caused lives to be lost or endangered?

Barack Mandela is obviously just another draft-card burning hippie.

Jesus, right wing extremist groups have killed people in this country, but they should be ignored because she agrees with them? Did she bitch half as hard when ALF/ELF made the terrorist watch list, though they’ve killed exactly nobody? Let me guess… And for Our Lady of the Internment Camps to call anything a “hit job” or “embarrassingly shoddy pieces of propaganda” is so fucking rich it gave me gout just reading it.

Well, in a sense the malkin thing’s right.

After all, SHE has nothing to fear from heavily armed right-wing paranoid wackadoodles. Um, except the racist thing. Maybe she oughta think about it some more….

Here’s the best part of this whole episode of faux-controversy.

From CQ Homeland Security, 25 March 2005:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) does not list right-wing domestic terrorists and terrorist groups on a document that appears to be an internal list of threats to the nation’s security.

According to the list — part of a draft planning document obtained by CQ Homeland Security — between now and 2011 DHS expects to contend primarily with adversaries such as al Qaeda and other foreign entities affiliated with the Islamic Jihad movement, as well as domestic radical Islamist groups.

It also lists left-wing domestic groups, such as the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), as terrorist threats, but it does not mention anti-government groups, white supremacists and other radical right-wing movements, which have staged numerous terrorist attacks that have killed scores of Americans. Recent attacks on cars, businesses and property in Virginia, Oregon and California have been attributed to ELF.It was the Bush admin, not the Obama admin, that politicized its listings of domestic terrorist groups.

Wait’ll there’s another Oklahoma City. Then everyone but the Michelle Malkins of the world will be screaming about how we didn’t pay enough attention to right-wing nut jobs.

Wow. The brazen ressentiment in that Malkin article is causing Friedrich Nietzsche to giggle up dust from his grave.

I think she fears us doing to them what her party spent the last five years at least doing to us.

I think what really grates her groin is her self-awareness. Hey, don’t laugh! What I mean is, she wants to think she’s powerful and dangerous and is being closely watched – monitored even! – but knows she’s only a crow’s fart in a hurricane. And it pisses her off.

How can paranoids form a community? They’re gonna pepper spray the shit out of each other tomorrow.

Malkin looks feral, almost chupacabra-ish in that pic.

Isn’t she just literally posting “WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH” over and ever again by now? Surely she must have figured out that would save her so much time.

Wait’ll there’s another Oklahoma City. Then everyone but the Michelle Malkins of the world will be screaming about how we didn’t pay enough attention to right-wing nut jobs.

Just read the hilarious comments at Stalkin’ Malkins’ website to see what will they will do if another OK City happens….

They’ll just blame libs for making them build the bombs and carry out the terrorism.

Bonus stupidity at her comments: More than one idiot states “liberalism = fascism” as some kind of pinhead mantra.

How un-PC would I be to ask if she’s never noticed the parallels between the current Iraq adventure and the early US occupation of the Philippines, beginning in the 1890’s?

So Malkin called the DHS. I’m sure they’re less concerned about right wing bloggers than they were before they talked to her:

They were very defensive — preemptively so — in asserting that it was not a politicized document and that DHS had done reports on “leftwing extremism” in the past. I have covered DHS for many years and am quite familiar with past assessments they and the FBI have done on animal rights terrorists and environmental terrorists. But those past reports have always been very specific in identifying the exact groups, causes, and targets of domestic terrorism, i.e., the ALF, ELF, and Stop Huntingdon wackos who have engaged in physical harassment, arson, vandalism, and worse against pharmaceutical companies, farms, labs, and university researchers.

It sounds like she’s pissed they didn’t mention her by name. Imagine the poutrage potential if her name ever appears on a DHS report even in the most non-accusatory fashion.

There’s no hackneyed left-wing stereotype of conservatives left behind in this DHS intelligence and analysis assessment. I asked both DHS spokespeople to tell me who, specifically, the report was accusing of “rightwing extremist chatter” and which “antigovernment” groups are being monitored as “extremists.” They say they’ll get back to me.

She wants to make sure none are missing from her blogroll I guess but hey, Malkin, you stupid asshole, why not ask for more specific information than that? Why not also ask them exactly which phone numbers the NSA is monitoring? Might as well ask for a copy of the no-fly list while you’re at it. Judging from her trackbacks it sounds like just about every wingnut blogger assumes he/she is a target.

What the hell is wrong with her in that picture by the way? It looks like she’s screaming “Get the f–k away from me!”

From the report (my emphasis):

This product is one of a series of intelligence assessments published by the Extremism and Radicalization Branch to facilitate greater understanding of the phenomenon of violent radicalization in the United States.

Great news, Michelle! There’ll be more, much more!

What the hell is wrong with her in that picture by the way?

She’s still breathing.

OT, but this is a great antidote to Malkkkin and ugliness of all stripes.

I hate these types of shows and never watch them…but since I saw this on youtube yesterday, I’ve watched it at least 10 times. Kind of an ultimate underdog moment of triumph.

They say they’ll get back to me.

They’ll get back? That’s polite of them to say that, but given that the report includes this:

LAW ENFORCEMENT INFORMATION NOTICE: This product contains Law Enforcement Sensitive (LES) information. No portion of the LES information should be released to the media, the general public, or over non-secure Internet servers. Release of this information could adversely affect or jeopardize investigative activities.

as well as this:

All U.S. person information has been minimized. Should you require the minimized U.S. person information, please contact the DHS/I&A Production Branch at…

Don’t count on it.

Funny that. For the last 8 years Malkin and the rest of conservative winuttia were trying to make extremely tenuous connections between legitimate environmental organizations and websites (like Greenpeace or gristmill) and the ALF or ELF. Now, no one is making extremely tenuous connections between your average crazy conservative like Malkin and people who actually plan terrorist actions. Except for those very same crazy conservatives like Malkin!

Sheesh, what an utter skank.

I clicked through, but now I’m smart enough to put on thigh-high galoshes first … a minute or two with a high-pressure hose & they’ll be good as new.

The thesis of the report is roughly as controversial as 1+1=2: fascists LOVE recessions, the worse the merrier – high unemployment is their best hope to add to their ranks, since in good times not enough folks are jonesing for some scary Other to pin their angst on. Their recent uptick in activity is as unpredictable as sunrise.

According to Ms. Batshitinsane, this report “demonizes the very Americans who will be protesting in the thousands on Wednesday for the nationwide Tax Day Tea Party” – which she proves with a series of quotes from said report which mention the Teabaggers or Tea Parties exactly zero times.

So when she caterwauls about Teh Leffed comparing Tea Party protests to the Weather Underground, I’m just not interested enough to check it out – sounds like yet another case of a diseased or dead irony gland.

This is the same twatwaffle who’s delighted to out anti-war protestors’ dox but immediately cries “fascism” when it’s HER ass in that frying-pan.

One can only hope that soon she’ll attempt to sneak into the White House to check out the composition of President Obama’s countertops.

It’s only the most fascist government of all time if you happen to be in the minority.

I must admit, I’m a bit tempted to go to the local sparsely attended teabagging party just so I can spend a few minutes whispering “That guy there? I think I saw him going into the Obama HQ before the election.”

Jennifer –

Thank you so much for the video. That rocked my world.

Here in Atlanta, they tell us that a “windstorm” blew a bunch of trees down and is responsible for our area-wide loss of electricity; no one in the MSM mentions the fact that this would actually be a perfect time for the government to shut down power neighborhood by neighborhood so that ACORN shock troops can go house to house threatening people with death unless they swear to honor and uphold Jimmy Carter’s CRA, which destroyed the American economy single-handedly.

That photo’s hilarious. She really is batshit insane, isn’t she?

It looks like she’s screaming “Get the f–k away from me!”

“The EPA tore down my dam and I’m mad as hell about it!”

Is that the picture of the Malkintent where Alex Jones was persuing her through the crowd at the DNC in Denver? That was some beautiful footage, one crazy loon of a certain type screaming at a crazy loon of another type. Lovely.

Of course, there are so many pictures of the woman looking nuts it’s hard to differentiate between them.

Everybody should be required to read Mark Twain’s To The Person Sitting In Darkness to see how the lies never change.

Sorry but the timing seems a bit too perfect. Somebody show me a link or evidence that DOES NOT come from a right wing web site. I will be you can’t. I bet it’s not a DHS document.

Site is lickety-split now.

Is that a teabagging reference?

Muffler,

I had the same thought and while I was unable to find it (it’s unclassified but not for release to the general public, only law enforcement officials), the subject matter, despite Malkin’s tampon-too-tightly-placed distress, is actually rather mundane.

If I was going to fake a document like that, I would have made it far more inflammatory.

Why would Malkin’s commenters feel threatened? It’s not like they are advocating revolution or anything..

My only real hope of our taking our country back is “clinging to…”, along with the vast majority of military will not fire upon constitution believing Americans.

Oh, right.

So, Malkin is saying that there is no such thing as right-wing extremist groups. That the KKK, Aryan Nations, and Militia movements are all figments of some liberal’s imagination. That Timothy McVeigh was actually a lefty, and that these guys shooting up churches and schools and killing cops while talking about how Obama is going to take their guns away and that liberal traitors need to be killed for the good of the country are just made up by the MSM. Is that about right?

What a fucking idiot.

So this is leaked information? Not supposed to be public like that stuff on the NSA that Malkin and friends said the NYT and other papers should have been prosecuted for treason for publishing?

Actor212:

Point taken. I still wonder how the day before the Tea Party thing this appears and gets published. The timing is suspect.

Also if you look at the source references they all go circular. They reference each other, so since it’s all from one starting point and all we have is an unnamed source through Malkin I just am not ready to accept it as fact. No one can name the true origin. When are we going to learn to question the sources?

Muffler,

I haven’t totally discounted the possibility and if it is a fake, my hat’s off to the creator, but it has some ring of truth to it.

After all, economic downturns tend to bring out the worst in people and now add to that the unusual nature of the person sitting in the White House and the outright fucking lunacy he has evoked, and I can’t imagine that DHS wouldn’t put out a warning like this.

Wikileaks does have it, but it was publish just after the liberty papers report. It does not precede it. Since we cannot look at the posting history (as in IP or who) it remain there unsubstantiated.

Obama has acted unconstitutionally on a repeated basis since he came to power.

Show me where, for example, the Constitution gives the President the power to bailout banks or fire the heads of corporations. That isn’t what the Founders instended.

What I think really pisses her of is that she knows in her dark, black heart that no-one at the DHS is fingering her (no cackles at the back, children).

Instead, picture 2 bored DHS agents flicking through files going; “… Michelle who….???”… that’s what really pisses her off…..

The DHS under Obama is terrified of imaginary “radical right” terrorists, but doesn’t even try to secure its own border. Indeed, they are encouraging more unkown people to cross the border through offering amnesty.

As for the bank bailouts, in point of fact, it was the Federal Reserve which bailed them out and that, my friend is in their charter under an act of Congress.

Please tell your handlers that you need to brush up on Constitutional law before they send you out drooling in the Internet again.

Indeed, they are encouraging more unkown people to cross the border through offering amnesty.

Is it true Obama’s DHS has granted amnesty for border crossers?

Well that should make it easier for the glibertarians to go Galt on us and get the fuck out. Somalia still has that flat tax you’ve been dreaming of (0%). Liberty!

Why don’t you libs move to North Korea instead? No evil capitalist exploiters there!

Libs could just move to North Korea!

No capitalists there, and total income equality! EVERYONE is poor!

The Federal Reserve itself is unconstitutional.

Imagine, if you will, the moonbat conniptions if the Bush DHS had sent out a memo warning of left-wing extremists.

How about all the liberals move to North Korea instead? No capitalists there! And complete equality (everyone is poor!)

So why not?

DHS has confirmed the report, however:

For some reason I can get to that via Google but not from here. Conspiracy I tells you.

Imagine, if you will, the moonbat conniptions if the Bush DHS had sent out a memo warning of left-wing extremists.

You mean like they, um, actually did?

How about all the liberals move to North Korea where there are no rich people and complete equality (everyone is poor!)

Well there is the personality cult and obsessive worship of the leader, but they already do that with Obama, so it shouldn’t be much of a stretch.

The Obama Administration doesn’t seem particularly cautious about defining an entire political party, representing somewhere between 46% and 52% of the country, as “rightwing extremist.” While they take pains to understand the Iranian Mullahs, they seem to take no such pains understanding half the country.

Preferring instead to simply call them potential terrorists.

Gee, I wonder where these people are getting the idea that their liberties are in jeopardy.

From your fave winger, Ace.

Classic Taibbi:

But actual rich people can’t ever be the target. It’s a classic peasant mentality: going into fits of groveling and bowing whenever the master’s carriage rides by, then fuming against the Turks in Crimea or the Jews in the Pale or whoever after spending fifteen hard hours in the fields. You know you’re a peasant when you worship the very people who are right now, this minute, conning you and taking your shit. Whatever the master does, you’re on board. When you get frisky, he sticks a big cross in the middle of your village, and you spend the rest of your life praying to it with big googly eyes. Or he puts out newspapers full of innuendo about this or that faraway group and you immediately salute and rush off to join the hate squad. A good peasant is loyal, simpleminded, and full of misdirected anger. And that’s what we’ve got now, a lot of misdirected anger searching around for a non-target to mis-punish… can’t be mad at AIG, can’t be mad at Citi or Goldman Sachs. The real villains have to be the anti-AIG protesters! After all, those people earned those bonuses! If ever there was a textbook case of peasant thinking, it’s struggling middle-class Americans burned up in defense of taxpayer-funded bonuses to millionaires. It’s really weird stuff. And bound to get weirder, I imagine, as this crisis gets worse and more complicated.

Maybe he’ll round you all up and ship you to Bagram, as is his constitutional right under the Yoo-nitary Executive theory? And if it isn’t in the constitution, well the constitution isn’t a suicide pact, right?

You fucking tools. The reason you’re scared of DHS is because you spent 8 years turning it, the NSA and CIA into a force able to listen to your phone calls, read your emails, arrest you on suspicion without warrant and hold you indefinitely while waterboarding you until you confess because if the government arrests you, you must be guilty of something.

After all, Obama has all sorts of secret intelligence and if he says Michelle Malkin is a terrorist, then that’s good enough for me, far be it for us to question the commander in chief in a time of war.

Ok, I am SO confused now.

What exactly are they protesting against (or for) tomorrow?

What “Liberties” are in jeopardy?

I mean, don’t they have to say? Did they say, but it was in code? ‘Cause all I’m getting is “we just don’t like the black fellah, even though he’s trying to do things that would help us and our families, and we really liked the fake texas cowboy who didn’t seem at all reticent when it came to starting wars, which we really like”.

Now, sure, OK. But they SEEM to be trying to hide that message behind a bunch of noise rather than just saying it. Is all this about their taxes being too high? ‘Cause their taxes aren’t any higher than they were two years ago. Didn’t seem to be that much of an issue then.

And why would they be against getting a better deal on health care, a better chance at keeping their jobs and their houses and a better lifeline for their families and neighbors who are unemployed? You just can’t be against that…

It is some comfort to think that Republicans may learn first hand the effect of all the subtle knife cuts the right to free assembly and to redress the government has suffered in the form of “permits” and “free speech zones.”

The right spent decades working to make protests ineffectual and training the public to ignore them. Now they can reap a bit of what they’ve sown.

You’re the dirty fucking hippies now conservatives. Are you still quite so eager to see the police sick dogs and fire hoses on protestors?

It’d be fun to charge user fees for anti-tax protesters who want access to public spaces.

What exactly are they protesting against (or for) tomorrow?

Well, until yesterday, they weren’t really sure. That’s when their Randian overlords at FreedumbWorks informed them that they’d be protesting in favor of the “flat tax”.

At least that’s what FreedumbWorks will be claiming by Thursday, if not by Wednesday evening.

Socraticsilence

So we have a young charismatic President who’s already been the target of to attempts on his life that we know of- the denver thing, and that Neonazi from Maine who had all the materials for a dirty bomb and would have been front page news for a week if he wasn’t a white guy- gee, sure is hard to see why DHS would want to crack down on people who talk about revolution and killing there boss and they themselves.

What “Liberties” are in jeopardy?

Encroaching “socialism”, ie redistributive policies to tax the wealthier for the benefit of the less wealthy. The minarchists and Republicans understand that if this gathers momentum and has any modicum of success in making life better for millions of Americans then they will be out of power for a very very long time.

Republicans are the party of “small government”, gay bashing, and creationism. Being reduced to the latter two would suck for them.

What exactly are they protesting against (or for) tomorrow?

I don’t think it’s anything more complicated than Palin Rally nostalgia.

Is this MM’s tacit admission that all conservatives are dangerous hate filled anti gov’t extremists? Ace’s too?

And “Change”? Please!- where does it say he can’t? I mean expressly prohibited.

Reap the whirlwind,
You need a big combine harvester for that.

they tell us that a “windstorm” blew a bunch of trees down and is responsible for our area-wide loss of electricity
Nope, your harvester wasn’t big enough.
Fortunately, I got me a brand new combine harvester.

It’d be fun to charge user fees for anti-tax protesters who want access to public spaces.

Dear Santa, forget the herd of ice-cream-pooping talking ponies, I want this for Christmas.

One reason I love Sadly,No! is that every so often, someone brings up a wholly esoteric point that only a wonk like me can appreciate.

I hope I return the favor every so often.

You are going to have a hard time doing that from the killfile.

Try to understand the noobosity of the first quoted paragraph and you may begin to see the problem you’ve been having here.

And since you’re really effin’ dense about these kinda things, I’ll point out: reemvowelling trolls, validating troofus the minute he lurches out of the bathroom rubbing the vomit on the back of his pants, and that godawful tie.

The Libertarians will hold them up for user fees. That will keep us safe.

Sorry, but I just have to say it — this is the woman who wrote an entire freakin’ book defending internment! Gah!
