Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said his department aims without exception to expel all those who enter the United States illegally.
They really won’t do this, obviously- Dubya’s Wall Street pals loves them some cheap Meskin labor- but ranting about brown people is a great way to fire up the unwashed wingnut masses.
I hate to use a clich?, but:
Step 1: Propose expelling any and all illegal immigrants.

As The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle have pointed out, a lot of the workers cleaning up Katrina in Mississippi and Louisiana are illegal immigrants, thanks to Bush’s decision to suspend rules requiring employers to verify workers’ citizenship and pay prevailing wages.
then what would all his texas friends do for labor? please. this won’t ever happen as long as bush and the republicans have land owning friends.
Yeah, get those damned illegal immigrants back to their own countries where we can pay ’em $.10/hour!

That’s right up there with FEMA’s goal of being somehow helpful, right?
You hit the nail on the head. There is no way that all illegal immigrants would be expelled as long as agriculture, textile and construction industies still run the way they do. It’s cheaper than prison labor.
