According to an exploratory Google search, back in the heady ‘Sadly, Yes’ days, ol’ Marie was careful to list herself as ‘single’ in a recent column bio.

Of course that could just mean that her medication for ‘multiple’ disorder was effective that week, so I wouldn’t be buying that ring just yet.

Google search indicates that one of her nom de plume’s may have been Margaret Marie Marsala. There’s a christian-inspirational essay she wrote (although I seriously doubt she came up with it, it looks like one of those inspirational peices that have been passed down over the years) called ‘The Quilt’ that’s all over the web from 2000, as well as some anti-Kerry screeds for christian teen-mags.

There’s also a Novel “Disappearance of Pegeen” that was published under that name in 2000 (amazon), but if it’s the same lass, she must have one hell of a patient editor.

Yosef, I’m sure, has already found all this; still I thought the book was pretty surprising.

Google “Marie Jon Masala” and “Marie Marsala” also “Margaret Marie Marsala” and you get a number of chritian/wingnut essays, sites, etc. Look at the emails, there is one that is common in several of them; also, there is at least one link in an old essay that takes you to PeePo.org (called something else on that site, but takes you to PeePo).

I don’t think that Margaret Marie Marsala is the same person as Marie Jon’ or Marie Jon’ Marsala. Marie Jon’ Marsala lists her age as 25 in 2004 and Margaret Marie Marsala’s work is copyrighted in 2000. It seems a bit young to be publishing even for God’s chosen one. Also it doesn’t look like her writing to me.

I noticed that both Kerry’s latest column (which is linked to on Peepo) and the current poll on Peepo are both about border security. Wonder if MJ chose that subject for her because of the relations.

My grandmother was Saami, and I went through a phase a few years back where I tried to learn the language. It didn’t come to much, because Finnish is so inflected and twisty, but I can conjugate simple verbs and pronounce things fairly well.
