More on Palin’s Nazi connections here. Excerpt:

In 1989 this writer attended a Populist Party meeting in Chicago chaired by Shearer where the featured speaker was David Duke. Security was provided by Art Jones, Chicago’s foremost uniformed Nazi, who choked a TV news reporter with his necktie for critically questioning Duke at the meeting. Jones was also a regular participant in Aryans Nation gatherings when they were planning insurrectionist activities, at least two of which were witnessed by this writer. It is not clear why Shearer picked Jones to provide security or why Phillips selected Shearer for national leadership of the new Party.

During and after this period Sarah Palin maintained friendly relations with the Alaska branch of the Constitution Party for many years, according to many news reports. She attended their convention again in 2000 and in 2006 sought their support for her run for governor. In June 2008 she sent them a video wishing them “good luck on a successful and inspiring convention, keep up the good work and God bless you.”

Her husband Todd joined the party during the period of militancy in 1995 and changed his voter registration in 2002 to “undeclared.”

In the Obama future, production values will obviously drop back to 1988 standards.

The horror!!!

Would that arm happen to be attached to Markos Moulitsas? The orange on that patch identifies the wearer as a Lieutenant Liberal Fascist, Great Orange Satan Brigade.

Levin is entirely insane. You hardly know where to begin with it. I mean, dude, the media ignore Obama’s “radicalism” because it’s bullshit.

Jeezus, I mean, look, he’s a centrist, corporate politician. Why don’t these clowns just come out and say what they are meaning: “he’s a scary nigra”.

Still, fun to see them drown like this. The next eight years are going to be wild.

It would be possible to refute Levin’s hysteria on a point-by-point basis, but it’s easier to just say:

Calm down, Mary.”

[updated a bit w/ quote]

And you know, this has to be said, if you are earning more than $250K, you fucking are rich!

And this tops it:

“The value of his physical and intellectual labor must be confiscated in greater amounts for the good of the proletariat (the middle class).”

What. The. Fuck.

Outside Republican unicornland, what physical work pulls down 250K. And I love that the proletariat is now the middle class. Doesn’t Levin realise that that means nearly everybody is in the proletariat?

…while America will certainly survive, it will do so, in many respects, as a different place.

Yeah. I actually think that’s the point. I think a lot of us want America to be a different place than the sh*t-hole Republicans have worked the last 40 years to make it.

By the way, for rightists making fun of the “cult-like” atmosphere of worship for Obama, 2002 called and wants to know why you keep forgetting about how much you used to love the Unitarded Executrix.

Doesn’t Levin realise that that means nearly everybody is in the proletariat?

Under the Republicans’ stewardship of the economy, that’s closer and closer to being true – but no, I’m guessing Levin doesn’t realize that.

I don’t know this Levin character. I’m assuming he’s another rich bubble-boy who thinks that, just because everyone he knows makes a shitpile of money, he assumes everyone does. Everyone who matters, anyway.

This is gonna be fun. Wingnuts have been screaming all week for the MSM to pick up their story about small web donation fraud supposedly accounting for Obama’s record funding hauls.

Well the WaPo just picked it up and it hasn’t turned out well…..

While the potentially fraudulent or excessive contributions represent about 1 percent of Obama’s staggering haul”

One-tenth of one percent were marked for refund”

John McCain’s campaign has refunded more than $1.2 million in contributions from anonymous, excessive and fraudulent contributors”

It’s the model of the future,” said Rick Hasen, an election law specialist

When you have that many contributors,” McGahn said, “it does in a weird way cleanse the system.”

a former FEC chairman … agreed that Obama’s effort would “put to rest all the shibboleths about campaign finance reform — that it is needed to prevent corruption”

Both parties have filed formal complaints calling on the agency to investigate their rival. Only McCain will automatically be subjected to an audit”</blockquote

Countdown until Ace’s head explodes begins now…..

The fact is, like Jonah Goldberg’s Totalitarian Temptation ice cream flavor, we apparently now need Mark Levin’s Obama Temptation flavor. I’m thinking something in chocolate.

O Solo mio…

Hey, what’s this?

…I really should stop singing that song.

Lets see, the attack hoax was, what, tuesday and wednesday, and the photo of Ashley Todd leaving the police station on Sat, or was it even Friday, show no bruising or marking at all!
We know what didn’t happen to Ashley, but we still don’t know what did happen.
Money skimmed from the Palin wardrobe fund? Check! Make-up artist? Check! Sad, weak-minded girl? Check! McCain Penn. campaign knows more than the police? Check!

Maybe another three days til we know the whole story?

I must remind you, Gary, it would be irresponsible not to speculate. Hasn’t the financial crisis proved that?

The wingnuts have been suffocated in their own echo chamber. They keep wondering in amazement why their attacks on Obama aren’t sticking, and are failing to realize it’s because those attacks are FUCKING WEAK.

Rezko, Ayers, Wright, ACORN, bitter/cling, arugula… WEAK. The wingnuts should have figured out after the primaries that Obama is simply unratfuckable. If there was a way to ratfuck him, Hillary would have found it… Lord knows she tried.

Now they’re down to the extreme longshot ratfucks, like “big black man mugged me and carved a B in my face” and “Obama went to Hawaii to suffocate his grandmother.”

Obama will be desqualifed

When did he get squalifed? I didn’t squalif him. Anybody here squalif that guy? No?

Yeah, it’s from the previous thrwead but I was busy doing laundry and that misspelling looks like it could be a fun word.

When did he get squalifed? I didn’t squalif him.

I think that to be desqualified is to be lifted from a state of squalor. I gather Obama’s childhood was more modest than the typical aristocrat-politician’s, but I don’t know if it amounted to actual squalor, so I don’t think he can be desqualified.

Izzat the “Real” Gary Ruppert?

There used to be a total moron who nymmed as “Gary Ruppert,” on Slate and then later at Atrios (before both sites unceremoniously dumped me).

Can this be the same dipshit/dickhead? I wouldn’t have thought him intelligent enough to have lived this long…

I didn’t think mccain campaign workers were allowed to wear their uniforms when not in the office.

“….Art Jones, Chicago’s foremost uniformed Nazi…”

I’d like to see the judging panel on that title. I wonder if they have a swimwear contest. Whitest legs n’all.

#1 I hate Illinois Nazis.

#2 The Populist Party? Really? I remember a party by that name from history class–they essentially fell on their sword to support William Jennings Bryan so as not to spoil the election in McKinley’s favor. (for all the good that ultimately wound up doing)

From the talk2action piece:

Some of that contact is due to education projects funded by Walter Annenberg, who is also donating to the McCain campaign.

Oh noes!! Dead guys are giving money to McCain!?! Has the press asked him about his associations with Zombies???

Levin is a dangleberry – one that sorely needs to be plucked.

Charles Gibson and Katie Couric sought to humiliate Palin. They would never and have never tried such an approach with Obama.

Since Obama is pretty much a bonafide genius, the attempt by someone like Katie Couric to humiliate him would be truly tragic – for the interviewer. Palin, on the other hand, humiliated herself with her winking chirpy display of ignorant ideological tunnel-vision … unless you’re so dim as to think that asking what newspapers you read qualifies as hardball journalism.

But hey, Palin’s good at more than just palling around with skinheads & abortion-clinic-bombers … she also seems to be a real boondoggle Ninja! Compared to the pork-velocity of the Palin Pipeline, that Bridge To Nowhere is strictly penny-ante stuff … you betcha!

PS: It needs to be said – WordPress can suck out the contents of a dead iguana’s cloaca.

Well, Dr Zen, I am a big supporter of Obama, and in fact have donated the limit to his campaign (most of that in a breathless panic after the Republican convention), but I can say that you are not necessarily “rich” if you make $250,000 a year or more. I make a little more than that, but I live in lower westchester, a rather expensive place to live. A lot depends on your cost of living. I am not have champagne cruises or cavair dreams here.

That said, I totally support overturning Bush’s tax policy. I just wush there was some COL adjustment for federal taxes. Trust me, $250G where I live doesn’t go as far as you might think.

Maybe you should move.

Hey, some of you guys are pretty smart cookies.

Help me out here. Somebody draw me a venn diagram or something so I can understand what it means exactly to be a Communist Nazi Muslim. Because my head is gonna explode here…

Prediction!!: Having failed to get anywhere with “terrorist” and “socialist” McCain’s next campaign message of the day will be to warn us of “Obama the HUN!” failing at that, we will see a late night announcement on Nov. 3 that Obama must come clean about his connection to unrepentant Viking raiding parties.

Hey, c’mon. Like we told the cops, those weren’t “raiding parties”, that was a scavenger hunt.

No charges were ever filed…

$250K is far more than the vast, vast majority of Americans make. On the other hand, it isn’t piddly squat compared to the actual, truly rich — the generational centimillionaires and billionaires. Next to them, even the insta-mansion crowds aren’t even in the game.

Yet in this country we just can’t talk about there being any such thing as an upper class, even if its composition is somewhat fluid, because a bunch of doofuses who make $250K or $500K or $1M think they’re the super-rich, as does the journalistic class which hangs in that category too.

Obama must come clean about his connection to unrepentant Viking raiding parties.

There is a mention of him in the Lindesfarne chronicles:

“This year came dreadful fore-warnings over the land of the Northumbrians, terrifying the people most woefully: these were immense sheets of light rushing through the air, and whirlwinds, and fiery dragons flying across the firmament. These tremendous tokens were soon followed by a great famine: and not long after, on the sixth day before the ides of January in the same year, the harrowing inroads of heathen men, led by Barack the Black made lamentable havoc in the church of God in Holy-island, by rapine and slaughter.”

AND it was none other than the poorly-remembered Daniel Rapine who was the second Mayor of Washington, DC.

Coincidence?

mikey

Can someone in the US explain me why conservatives, who are scared to death of sosiclism, communism and other “common good”-isms are always so proud of being from the RED states?

You’d think the red scare would anhillate itself under these conditions.

I don’t know this Levin character.

I was wondering who this jerk was, too. Via Wikipedia:

=Lawyer
=Reagan administration adviser; eventually Chief of Staff to Ed Meese (woooo-eee!).
=President of Landmark Legal Foundation, which in 2007 nominated Rush Limbaugh for a Nobel Peace Prize.
=Author of a poorly-received book about the Supreme Court, published by Regnery.
=Frequently appearances on Limbaugh’s and Hannity’s shows; host of his own radio show since 2002.
=Contributing editor to NRO 2006-2007. Frequent posts at The Corner.

In other words, the usual wingnut-welfare resumé.

Why would the McClown campaign choose, for VP (or any position for that matter), a person who supports, meets with, and God bless’s neo Nazis, doctor killers, and Christian militia separatists? Good fucking God, already.

Johnny Hussein Coelacanth

I almost feel sorry for that scumbag Levin. First off, there’s no future for him in radio if the Wingnut Welfare dries up. He has, truly, the worst voice I’ve ever heard for an alleged “professional” radio personality; imagine an asthmatic, yappy, Chihuahua that learned to speak English by listening to Michael Savage, and you don’t have to click that link.

The media are open and brazen in their attempts to influence the outcome of this election. I’ve never seen anything like it. Virtually all evidence of Obama’s past influences and radicalism — from Jeremiah Wright to William Ayers — have been raised by non-traditional news sources. The media’s role has been to ignore it as long as possible, then mention it if they must, and finally dismiss it and those who raise it in the first place.

Mark just doesn’t understand that people don’t care about Wright, Ayers, et alia. The mainstream media DID cover those stories, and nobody cared. The electorate did not rise up in horror and punish Obama for his scary, insufficiently white-and-patriotic associates.

I feel some sympathy for Levin’s confusion, much as I feel a twinge of sympathy for a moth smashing repeatedly into a light fixture.

Now, Mark (and many of his fellows) feel their world spinning out of control because their narratives about patriotism and religion, which have worked very well in the past, aren’t working against Obama, who *looks* like the perfect target. He has a funny name, he goes to a scary church, he knows people who have failed to embrace capitalism and, oh yeah, black black black blackety black {Muslim}.

I could almost feel some sympathy for that scary, out-of-control feeling, except that Mark Levin (and too many of his fellows) will take no lesson away from an Obama win except this: Once again, conservatism has been failed or, more likely, stabbed in the back by a hateful, treasonous, media who allowed helped Obama and Acorn steal the election.

Here’s hoping for a landslide.

Somebody draw me a venn diagram or something so I can understand what it means exactly to be a Communist Nazi Muslim.

Everyone outside of our tribe is out to get us.

Oh, the venn diagram is simple.

There is a small circle, which has “Communist Nazi Muslim” written on it, and about 10 meters from it are the circles labeled “reason” and “common sense”.

Outside Republican unicornland, what physical work pulls down 250K.

Net income, mind you.

Is the allure of a charismatic demagogue so strong that the usually sober American people are willing to risk an Obama presidency?

Last time we nominated an amiable dork, and the right wing media savaged him. So this time we choose a candidate who is cooler. Kerry and Obama have the same sort of ideals, but Obama is more unflappable and has more sex appeal to avoid getting mocked by the shallow media types.

I think the wingnut definition of “charismatic demagogue” is “Waah! When we make mean jokes about him, nobody joins in!”

I think “desqualified” is something like “jumping the shark”

Well, Dr Zen, I am a big supporter of Obama, and in fact have donated the limit to his campaign (most of that in a breathless panic after the Republican convention), but I can say that you are not necessarily “rich” if you make $250,000 a year or more. I make a little more than that, but I live in lower westchester, a rather expensive place to live. A lot depends on your cost of living. I am not have champagne cruises or cavair dreams here.

My family makes about this much, although after the shitload of debt we’ve had to deal with paying off we’re effectively making just over 100,000.

Almost everyone who actually worked their way to the highest tax bracket is in the same situation we are, but thanks to the flailing idiocy of the financier class there’s no way to effectively tax someone who makes $250,000 and owes $200,000 and someone who makes $250,000 and owes $10,000 much different from each other. That and the fascist, MBA-uber-alles behavior of the Republicans and their tax-evading fellow-travellers is completely unappealing to any sane person who comes to their money without stealing it from people with a weak position in the job market.

Joe the Plumber doesn’t just want to become a capitalist, he wants to become a kleptocrat. This is a critical distinction; you can deal with capitalists all kinds of ways but kleptocrats don’t seem to respond positively to much except for force.

Oh man, did John McCain really give his MTP interview from Waterloo Iowa? For fuck’s sake, this has to be the most pathetic campaign ever.

I think the wingnut definition of “charismatic demagogue” is “Waah! When we make mean jokes about him, nobody joins in!”

Well, remember what a shallow level these people operate on; there’s been no better example in living memory than John McCain, after a lifetime of nonpareil fellatio and a week of light coverage, declaring war on the treacherous MSM.

It’s literally an offense on par with deicide for these people when you don’t help shore up their pathetic ego by helping to form a screaming crowd for them to melt into. It’s why they love the hell out of Palin – they haven’t had collective exuberance like that since the age of civil rights and videotape killed the Klan. Doesn’t mean one fascist rally is going to be any more widely-accepted than the other – it seems like the electorate at large is cottoning on to Palin being a surrogate for bigoted cretins and no longer really wants anything to do with her.

Outside Republican unicornland, what physical work pulls down 250K.

Male escort at the republican national convention?

Is the allure of a charismatic demagogue so strong that the usually sober American people are willing to risk an Obama presidency?

It got Reagan elected twice, so why not?

I can’t explain Dubya, though. It’s hard for any but the die-hardiest wingnut to consider that lump “charismatic”.

Did y’all see the story about the radio wingnut who had this on-air fantasy about Obama smothering his Grandmother with a pillow.

It was off the rails.

If Palin went home to visit her sick grandmother, would we be speculating about her plans to shoot the old woman from an airplane?

Oh, the venn diagram is simple.

There is a small circle, which has “Communist Nazi Muslim” written on it, and about 10 meters from it are the circles labeled “reason” and “common sense”.

You forgot the circle labeled “good family man”.

Did y’all see the story about the radio wingnut who had this on-air fantasy about Obama smothering his Grandmother with a pillow.

I’m of two minds about it: on the one hand I enjoy saying the worst possible thing, and on the other it feeds nuts who are actually dangerous.

If Palin went home to visit her sick grandmother, would we be speculating about her plans to shoot the old woman from an airplane?

Funny, so maybe.

Snerf. All the military stuff seems to work out well.

No official announcements yet.. If the US administration doesn’t own up to the actions soon, I will be suspecting it could have been an accident. In these days of GPS navigation, it is hard to end up just on the wrong side of a border, but it is still possible.

If it were part of political strategy, you would expect it to be on fox news even before the helicopters take off.

With any luck, the whole thing will be anti-climatic and not make too many headlines. The conventional wisdom is that Mcain is more trusted on defence, but some polls have been showing otherwise. Hard to say what effect tension about the middle east is going to cause at this point.

The Syria thing, planned or un, is too obviously like Republican nuttiness people are already voting against to be a positive for McCain.

Wow, I didn’t know you could get banned at eschaton. that implies that somebody actually reads the 100k comments per hour that are posted there. impressive. Duncan Black must truly have a superior cranial organ.

I think the venn diagram which accurately portrays Obama’s islamohomomarxofascist black liberation theology can only be draw on 4-dimensional paper and requires an advanced degree in metaphysics to interpret.

I wish I could be so optimistic.

Although a slim majority of people favour Obama on defence, that group may not contain all Obama supporters. Obamas steady rise in the polls has been mostly linked to the crashing economy, and many voters could simply have put foreign policy concerns aside, with the economy being so much more important right now.

They are indeed pushing the same old buttons, but they are still the most reliable buttons the republicans have.

Part of me wonders that if this isn’t a top down attempt at an October surprise by the bush administration, if it is a ratfucking attempt which originates somewhere lower down the chain of command. After all, the Military has more than its share of right wingers, racists, and nutjobs. This would account for the silence so far. Call me paranoid, but in this election season…

I just don’t believe that at this moment, one week before the election with the republican losing badly and Bush’s credibility being somewhat worse than the phrase “in the toilet” can convey, that starting a new war will help their cause. doesn’t mean they won’t try it though.

John McCain, after a lifetime of nonpareil fellatio and a week of light coverage
I saw Nonpareil Fellatio in 1988 when they played at the Fiddlers’ Arms, as warm-up for The Bang-Bang.

And Mark Levin still writes in the exact style of the Automatic Letter-of-Complaint Generator.

Sorry. They might, but it’s pretty obvious that this AIN’T it.

First of all, as incompetent as these assclowns are, they have shown quite a knack for starting wars. This is too small, too indirect and too subtle. And subtle they ain’t.

And you do not have only two choices. It didn’t have to be “starting a war” or “accidental”. Everybody in the area knows al – Asad does NOT want war with the US, or with Israel. They could very well have hit a border villiage on purpose, knowing full well that there would be no retaliation from the Syrians.

I promise you – if and when the bush/cheney administration starts a shooting war as an october surprise, it will be neither small nor subtle, nor will there be any doubts about the event.

mikey

If Palin went home to visit her sick grandmother, would we be speculating about her plans to shoot the old woman from an airplane?

I think we (or “some of us”) would JOKE about it, but that’s not the same thing.

This could be a warm-up exercise, something related to starting the drumbeat. After all, the Bush/Cheney way is to begin with the PR and misinformation, then send the tanks in.

Even if a proper war isn’t on the cards, it could be intended as the start to building a media narrative that presents Syria as the next scary enemy that only Mcain can save us from.

Hell. I’ve just realised.. It could have more to do with the Israeli elections than the US elections!

Hell. I’ve just realised.. It could have more to do with the Israeli elections than the US elections!

It’s all set up for Bibi anyway.

Those poor fuckers are having a MUCH more difficult time getting rid of their Likudnik Neocon madmen than we are.

He’s gonna be one of President Obama’s ongoing challenges…

mikey

Umm……..didn’t Syria and Iran sign a mutual defense pact?

It could just be a little reminder to the Israelis that Syria can be pushed around a bit, and that negotiation is for wimps. The neo-con Israelis use the same methods as the American neocons, but have better luck with the same tactics because of the closer proximity of the scary scary brown people.

At this point, no news is good news. The Syria situation is worrying, but from a media point of view.. The attack was carried out at the least media friendly time of week, and it was 9 hours ago, and still nothing much. It suggests this was meant to be done on the quiet.

It does lend weight to the “because we can” theory. The military must know that the media are a bigger potential threat than Syria, and so have a motivation for staying quiet if they don’t want this to go any further.

I think we need to find out who took the cookies from the cookie jar. Obama says it wasn’t him, couldn’t be, it’s true. But then who took the cookies from the cookie jar?

Xecklothxayyquou Gilchrist

if and when the bush/cheney administration starts a shooting war as an october surprise, it will be neither small nor subtle, nor will there be any doubts about the event.

Agreed. And Fox would know about it far enough in advance to have their sexy “America At TEH WAR!” graphics all ready to go.

Even if a proper war isn’t on the cards, it could be intended as the start to building a media narrative that presents Syria as the next scary enemy that only Mcain can save us from.

They’d better work quickly then. The October Surprise sweepstakes offer expires on Friday, and Election Day is 9 days away.

It may be because it’s commonly understood, so much so that nobody comments at all on it but…Is nobody noticing that the introduciton to Levin’s radio program’s hourly segments is overflowing with nazi allusions?

He’s here, He’s here!
Now broadcasting from an underground command post (the fuehrerbunker) deep in the bowls of a hidden bunker sumewhere under the brick and steel of a non-descript building we’ve once again made contact with our leader; (“unser fuehrer”, one of the names much beloved by Hitler). This guy is the fuehrer wanna be of the American right. His style is very much that of hitler, including the frothing at the mouth rages he flies into. His twisting of the writings of legitimate thinkers to suit his propaganda also seems styled after Goebbels-he is well aware that none of his listeners have the competence to read Adam Smith, Thomas Paine etc. and had they such competence to even read they could not understand. So he is free to explain to them what they wrote. his interpretation is often the opposite of what they meant.

His “interpretation” and his books are probably written by someone else
but are widely dissiminated to the faithful in venues other than his.
