Riehl Family Values
Dan Riehl, moral paragon and exemplar of proper Republican family values, takes Obama to task for being a bad brother and a bad son:
This may be a bit uncomfortable but it warrants pointing out. Obama made this brief video appearance today to talk about his Grandmother, spinning it somewhat into a character/judgment issue: “I didn’t want to make the same mistake twice.” That’s because he said his Mother died before he was able to get back to see her.
…
Obama paints himself as this empathic figure. Yet, we know he has a step-brother living in a hut in Kenya, or wherever. And his Mother lay dying for almost if not a full year without a visit from her son.
…
And this man is the guy who is supposed to care about health care issues for everyone else? You’re kidding me right? A Harvard grad and a lawyer and he lets his Mother lay dying in pain and worry for a year without so much as a visit?
Frankly, that’s repulsive as far as I’m concerned. He couldn’t see his Mother because he was running the CAC and having lunch with Bill Ayers? Geesh!
That would be the same Dan Riehl who said this when John Cole criticized him for being a pasty, quivering, gelatinous blob of hypocrisy and homophobia:
Really?
Robert Leroy Riehl Born: 05 Jan 1948 Died: 21 Jun 2004
That was an older brother of mine, John. He’s dead and, yes, he was Gay. You want to know how he died? He died alone, probably of aids for all I know and probably in a San Francisco flop house living on the government’s dime. I say probably because it was the last address I ever had for him from letters exchanged, not having seen the boy/man since I was about 15.
Words fail. Really.
You should fucking hear what’s going on in his head…
But Obama’s mother wasn’t gay. Gay really makes all the difference in whether you are supposed to love your family members or not.
Actually, what is the story with Obama’s mother? Is this going to be a new talking point?
Odd that when most bloggers use a pseudonym, you’d use your real name for something that ordinary.
So even assuming the strange tale of finding out a sibling is dead but not knowing (or becoming obsessed with) finding out specifically how or why, why would the first conclusion you jumped to be that he “probably” died of AIDS and “probably” in a flop house? Yikes.
Dan,
Actually typing the word cocksucker doesn’t make you gay. No need for all the asterisks. It’s not like the asterisks make your hate spew any less offensive – after all your intent is to call John Cole a sucker of cocks. Although perhaps it’s a mental impairment you have (because it’s obvious you have several) that you are unable to type out the word cocksucker. Here, just in case the need arises for you to call someone a cocksucker again – I’ll type it out for you, so that you can copy-paste it in:
cocksucker
Anyways,
Dan Riehl? Cocksucker.
‘Cocksucker’ is not a word to be cut-and-pasted lightly. It should be thrown with great force.
A Harvard grad and a lawyer and he lets his Mother lay dying in pain and worry for a year without so much as a visit? Frankly, that’s repulsive as far as I’m concerned. He couldn’t see his Mother because he was running the CAC and having lunch with Bill Ayers?
Obama had a lunch with Bill Ayers that lasted an entire year? Man, they were close.
Didn’t Obama get blasted for visiting her in July? That’s like, I saw my mom on the 4th of July, but she’s been in the hospital since.
Hey, this is fun: the new leader for the crazy fascist party of the late fascist leader in Austria Joerg Haider has admitted that he was Haider’s “life partner”:
The aspiring handsome male fascist is not saying he’s gay or anything. Just that, you know, they both enjoyed “300” a lot, maybe as much as VDH.
And surely our modern, forward-looking fascist movements ought to be big enough to deal with…
Oh. I guess the big butch well-dressed fascists of the modern Austrian right don’t like it when their leaders’ gay affairs are confirmed instead of just, you know, known.
‘Cocksucker’ is not a word to be cut-and-pasted lightly. It should be thrown with great force.
Shorter Dan Riehl:
Hey Obama, I hear your mom died of cancer. That makes you a bad person.
Dan Riehl? Cocksucker.
Incidentally Ms. Parker, can I get you a fourth martini?
Do you wanna know how he died? I have no idea how he died, but I’m going to make something up that fits my fantasies of how all gay people should die!
Unpleasant little fucker.
To be fair, it’s likely Robert wanted nothing to do with his piece a shit little brother.
I get the impression the fReichtards aren’t sure what to make of Obama’s poor half brother. Or rather, he’s Kenyan so they don’t give a fuck and some of them are just smart enough to know that we know they don’t give a fuck and the knuckledraggers will get antsy if they suggest anyone should give a fuck.
As for his mom, she did the nasty with a non-Caucasian and so she’s tainted.
Isn’t the real trick finding a rethug that has morals?
Obama had a lunch with Bill Ayers that lasted an entire year? Man, they were close.
Maybe they were really, really hungry….for socialism!
“In Kenya, or wherever?”
Christ, what an asshole.
So even assuming the strange tale of finding out a sibling is dead but not knowing (or becoming obsessed with) finding out specifically how or why, why would the first conclusion you jumped to be that he “probably” died of AIDS and “probably” in a flop house?
But definitely alone. Although Dan admits to knowing fuck all about the situation, he seems in no doubt about this point. Presumably gay people always die alone for some reason, or perhaps Dan’s perspective is “Well, I wasn’t there, so I assume no one else was either.”
About that half-brother…hasn’t Obama met him all of one time? It’s not like they grew up in the same house or even knew each other as children. Is Riehl – and every other wingnut who’s brought this up – suggesting that we should all be our brother’s keepers? I thought they were against socialism?
I’m sure there are plenty of well-to-do wingnuts who have siblings who are in rough economic straits. And I’m just as sure that they aren’t opening their checkbooks to help them out.
The name is “Riehl,” pronounced “real,” as in “He’s a real fucking asshole.”
You get deleted pretty quick over there if you mention his brother.
Reihl’s so sensitive he doesn’t seem comfortable with it yet.
..or maybe not.
Obama’s half-brother in Africa has already said he doesn’t want handouts. But I guess Obama is just forcing him to live in a hut in Kenya, or wherever.
There’s an interview with his half-sister in Salon that basically paints him as an ideal big brother, so I guess she must be Liberally Biased or something.
Actually, Robert Riehl died in a Smylex attack; I avenged him by punching the Joker in the dick. Dan Riehl, on the other hand, I wouldn’t cross the street to piss on him if he were on fire**.
*No, really.
**Not that it’s really practical to do so, since the Batsuit has a catheter. Hey, you can’t stop to take a leak when you spend most of your time on rooftops, especially in a high wind.
“living in a hut in Kenya, or wherever”
Riehl’s empathy touches me deeply.
Classy guy … glad I’m not related.
They. Have. Buildings. In. Kenya.
Yeah, I hear they have cars and TeeVee in those African countries, too. Wow.
This doesn’t count as hypocrisy from Riehl. He’s making fun of Obama for not caring about his family as much as he claims to. Danno’s very clear on how much he cares about his own family, so he’s not a hypocrite. An utter worthless sack of fuck, perhaps. But at least he’s not a hypocrite.
jim, I think we’re ALL glad we’re not related to this idiot racist asshole.
One thing they DON’T have (and WON’T have) in Kenya is Jerome Corsi. And I do mean thing.
Obama paints himself as an empathic figure? So he can read our emotions? Was he really born on Betazoid?
Actually, he IS talking about it:
http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2008/10/obama-shouldnt/comments/page/2/#comments
“Yes, sad. I don’t know why people think this is some kind of card to play. If you knew the whole story you’d realize it isn’t. And bringing him up not only isn’t relevant, it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s nice to see his name on the Internet, again. That’s where I learned of his death after looking for him for years.”
And:
“Spartan – I’m going to respond to this once, as you are a regular here. First – that quote was posted the day I learned of his death – through a deep search using fucking Google, okay? I tried to get in touch with the man for years.
The conversation at the time was about hate crime legislation. My brother experienced more than one of those in his life. He was sent to reform school as a teen in part for being gay – it was the late fifteies, early sixties. He was ten years older than me. He disappeared. Next I heard of him he was thrown into a commercial clothes cryer in Denver Colorado and burned over most of his body – for being Gay. I only found out about it when the state came looking for money for medical expenses – skin grafts, a year of hospitalization, etc. I saw him after that and then he disappeared again. I got one letter after that sking for money. He lived on social security. All I had was a phone number for him to a pay phone in a hall phone in a San Francisco flop house and no one there knew where he went.
WHen homosexuals go on about discrimination today it’s a fucking joke. They don’t even know what it is. My position is that all people, gay straight, black white should be equal in the eyes of God and the law, so we don’t need hate crimes legislation. That’s all that argument was about.
Now you know more than you need to know about my brother. So how about telling me why your fucking messiah left his Mother alone to die for a year and doesn’t have the dignity to help his peasant brother out. And if you can’t answer it, the STFU.”
He also says he considers his brother a “victim”. The more I read of this, the more it’s clear Dan Riehl is so consumed with guilt over his brother, that he’s internalized it into his rage against liberals.
