Ahhh, Capitalism…

Et tu, S,N!?

Don’t you know many of us look to you as an oasis in the miasma, so to speak, of such ubiquitous TV tomfoolery?

Well, except for that last one. Did that news bit really follow the ad? Too much.

Two from the Godfather: One for Future Shock t-shirts, another for miso soup.

And for those of you from Southern California: Pete Ellis Dodge. Those of us from Northern California know the jingle a little differently.

Was the ad with the ground meat and live rooster a cigarette ad? Sorry, I don’t speak Greek or whatever language that was. Not a slam, I love the culture and the food- spanikopita, moussaka, Ouzo, flamin’ cheese-souvlaki (sic?), Metaxa, belly dancers, etc.

Added a classic Don’s Guns clip.

Glad to have him as a sponsor.

After your trip to the Montgomery Flea Market, it’s time to relax over some Kana ground chicken with a good boardgame!

All I can figure is that it’s either Finnish or Estonian — which leaves Estonian.

Thanks, Gavin. If memory serves, (and then he checked Google), Greek and Estonian are both members of the same language family so, now it makes sense.

God you people are beautifully funny and great.

Laughter is highly underrated.

Thank you.

“It’s just like–a mini mall” will be replaying itself in my head for days.

Actually, depending on how much volume he has, and weither that $10 covers the ammo, one could quickly turn a decent profit renting guns. A basic rifle/handgun will only set you back a few hundred.

Um, are you drunk? ‘Cause oddly, I’m not. But I thought the Souhoos girls were hot in a chubby, the hot chick already told me if I bothered her again her boyfriend would kick my ass kind of way.

Have some more meat, bay bee…..

mikey

That last one is Confederate Yankee.

….in ten to fifteen years.

Ok, I thought so.
You can rent the guns to shoot on his indoor range.

Inre: the first commercial, a good friend of mine, one of my best friends, recently asked me when I was going to get an Xbox360 “and be social”.
The guy publishes music criticism in the Washington Post.
This is as good an explanation as any for why i’m at my computer, commenting here, smoking hash at this hour on a friday night.
I have a wii, I’m not anti-games. But I probably average an hour or less gameplay a week.

And since we’re on a “low-budget TV commercial” jaunt.

Among the all time finest bad local commercials, the Special Man will always hold a special place. There aren’t any online clips of the original Lester Love Jr. commercials online. Damn. Just ask anybody who lived in the Big Easy ca. ’89-’01 and they’ll know damned well that slow drawl “Let ’em have it”.

Man, it’s changed. It’s almost as cheesy, the chicken boxes are a great addition, but it’ll never be the same.

Sigh.

Hate to break your bubble, Bronc, but Greek and Estonian are unrelated. Greek is, like most European languages, in the Indo-European family. Estonian, like Finnish and Hungarian, is a Fino-Ugric language, part of the larger Uralic family.

But in any language, deep-fat-fried ground rooster is deee-licious….or, as they say in Hungarian, “A légpárnás hajóm tele van angolnákkal!”

“Not intended for residents of Massachusetts”

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!

The reference to Tallinn at the end of that ground chicken ad is the giveaway. (By the way, if you ever get a chance to visit Tallinn, Estonia, take it. The old city is absolutely wonderful. At least, it was 7 years ago. It could be complete crap now, since Estonia joined the EU.)

These are all very amusing, and everything, but they are as nothing compared to “Sandwiches Again?”

(If I were younger I’d know how to make that into a link, but I’m not, okay?)

Hey! It did it for me! Thanks, Sadly, No!

Tak, the Hideous New Girl

And for those of you from Southern California: Pete Ellis Dodge. Those of us from Northern California know the jingle a little differently.

And those of us in Pittsburgh know another version!

Cool! Did the ads have the little bouncing ball? I wonder how many other dealerships Pete Ellis had around the country.

The Kana ad disturbed me. It was like a vegitarian propaganda film directed by Ignatius P. Reilly.
