Well smack my keister and call me chappy.
So I click over to Instapundit’s Debate Poll and when it opens up, I get this below. Fourteen hours of travel today and the whole world’s gone insane? Conservative, or not, I think I’d probably vote for Fattah before downloading a Republican Ringtone to my phone.
See, there he goes again, because we were rummaging through Dan’s stuff last week, and when he called his cell phone to yell at us for stealing his cell phone, this is what we heard.

There must be lots more of these Republican ringtones, too. One time when we were minding our own business hiding behind a planter, John Hawkins of Right Wing News came walking by and his phone started playing “Stolen” by Dashboard Confessional.
We figured it was Duncan Hunter calling, because a girlfriend seemed unlikely.
Yes. What if they’re intent on violating my constitutional rights, e.g. the 2nd Amendment? I’d have to think long and hard about meekly surrendering, with my hands over my head. My father, who I do still love and respect, messed up with the IRS and refused to pay taxes for a number of years. Our family paid a heavy price. I have had to really work to forgive him for what he did. But you know what? He knew he was defying the gov’t and our laws and did so with a smile not caring what would happen to the family. Which was odd since he cared about his family in everything else…he was just so principled in this that he was blind. I learned a big lesson in that. I’m just glad it was not something more serious like illegal gun stock piling and acquiring grenades.

Listen, doofus: the most prolific terrorist organisation in the world is the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam, who are nominally Hindu and basically secular. There are terrorists of every monotheistic, and many polytheistic, religion/s.
The reason that some Islamic terrorists want to kill Americans probably has something to do with the fact that the US has done some truly appalling things in their part of the world. Learn some history, and I mean real history, not just a list of Presidents.
The reason that some Islamic terrorists want to kill Israelis is because the Israeli government has been following a considered policy of ethnic cleansing for decades. It was only in the 90s that Palestinian resistance got going: up until then, all the violence and killing was coming from Israel.

I can’t speak for all ‘lefties’, but then neither can you. My view of foreign affairs, which concurs with the view of many intelligent and experienced diplomats, is that the US is dangerously ignorant and belligerent.
For instance: how many wars has the US been involved in over the last 50 years? Why, if the US is so wonderful, does it spend more than the rest of the world combined on weapons? How many governments has the US overthrown in the last 50 years?
If you knew the answers to those questions, you might be some way towards understanding why the US is so hated. You might also begin to understand that the US’ current tactic, that of bombing the bejeezus out of anyone who looks at them funny, is possibly the best way to rapidly increase recruits for terrorist groups.
