Hanoi John McCain exposed!!!
For a while now, the Editors has been promoting the crazy claims of Crazy Bob Dornan, who seems to think that the Vietcong implanted radio receivers in John McCain’s teeth during his captivity to send him subliminal pro-commie messages and turn him into a 21st-Century Manchurian Candidate. I don’t normally give these sorts of claims much credence, but now I think we may have found the proof that will blow this story wide open (emphasis mine):
‘Hanoi Hilton’ jailer says he’d vote for McCain
John McCain has an unusual endorsement — from the Vietnamese jailer who says he held him captive for about five years as a POW and now considers him a friend.
“If I were an American voter, I would vote for Mr. John McCain,” Tran Trong Duyet said Friday, sitting in his living room in the northern city of Haiphong, surrounded by black-and-white photos of a much younger version of himself and former Vietnam War prisoners. [...]
Duyet said one of the reasons he likes McCain for president is the candidate’s willingness to forgive and look to the future. [...]
Duyet, 75, grew testy during the interview when repeatedly questioned about torture and why so many other former POWs say they too were mistreated. He preferred to talk about McCain as an old buddy.
His photo collection doesn’t include one of him with POW McCain, and he said they have not met on any of McCain’s postwar visits to Vietnam. But Duyet said he often met the young Navy pilot when off duty, that McCain would correct his English, and that he had a great sense of humor. And although they never saw eye-to-eye on the war that killed some 58,000 Americans and up to 3 million Vietnamese, he said they listened to each others’ views.
Now obviously this doesn’t prove per se that John McCain is a VC plant who will give away all our defense secrets to the Red Chinese upon taking office. It does, however, raise some questions. Why was McCain so friendly with this particular jailer? What views did the jailer express that McCain “listened” to while in captivity? Why does one of America’s sworn enemies think we should vote for McCain for president? What “future” do McCain and the jailer look forward to together? A future of freedom and prosperity? Or a future where hard-working American boys will be forced to toil in Charlie’s slave labor camps while the VC has its way with our women folk? So, so many questions; I wonder if mainstream reporters will start asking them, just like they did when this guy was running for president.
Crazy Bob? What do you think?

He’s apparently got quite the history with the Stockholm Syndrome. Between this bit of evidence and the way he’s still willing to be a rethuglican after the many Bush-imspired ratfucks that cost him the 2000 nomination, well, it just seems obvious.

Indeed. I think it might be time to question whether the entire Republican Party is just a covert VC operation.

In this role-playing, can I be Malkin? Let me try:
Why don’t people ask McCain more specific questions about the radio receivers in his head? They are legitimate questions about whether or not he deliberately flew his plane into anti-aircraft fire or even earlier, tried to sink the U.S.S. Forrestal. Some sailors are saying it. Okay, they’re not saying it exactly but there are rumors. Okay, not rumors, but the kerning…have you checked the kerning? No wait, the countertops — his Chi-Comm handlers transmit instructions through the granite countertops! We’re through the looking glass, people! GAWD … where’s my fucking undercover cheerleader outfit?!
Whoa, I just came back from a very bad place.

Now salacious gossip can be fun, but please observe these rules:
1.) McCain is *a* Manchurian Candidate, not *the* Manchurian Candidate.
2.) By way of extension, John McCain never had sex with his mother.
Please! Sometimes I eat while I read Sadly, No! and I do not want to see anyone talking about geriatric incest.

I don’t see why we don’t just go for McCain’s jugular on this subject. His POW record is one of a guy who couldn’t wait to capitulate and tell them his father was an Admiral to get special treatment. It would sure be nice to get hold of those 32 propaganda tapes he made, as well. Somebody must have them (or at least the transcripts). Even this jailer said that McCain made up the stories of torture to get votes.

Nah, this is the widely known Suck-Up Syndrome.
Whatever McCain did or didn’t do in the past, he’s a world class suck-up now. He’s not even letting the last statement cool on the stovetop before he turns around and says the opposite.
I know is status as a POW is supposed to be sacrosanct, but he did experience something that made him make pro-captor sentiments at the time.
So either he knows torture can make people lie, or he truly hates America.
Pick one.
Doc Washboard said,

Well, remember: he has said many times that he didn’t love America until he became a POW–until he was “deprived of her company” is the way I think he puts it.
It’s flabbergasting–yet, at the same time, my gast is not at all flabbered–to learn that the news media has done nothing with this information except, I guess, to launch renewed attacks against Michelle Obama.

New Hampshire really likes sending the clinically insane to Washington, for some twisted reason.
As for John Kerry and his family, I really did not know about the exclusive deal they cut. I’m interested in buying some land over in Vietnam, so I can enjoy a low-cost retirement.

Asked for a response, the McCain campaign referred The Associated Press to Orson Swindle, a retired Marine lieutenant colonel who was imprisoned with McCain. Swindle said Duyet “has no credibility on every utterance he makes.”
(snip)
“He says John McCain would make a great president. How the hell does he know? He has absolutely no credibility,” Swindle added.
Yes, the man that the McCain campaigned directed reporters to disagrees with someone’s assertion that McCain would make a great president. You can’t make this stuff up.
