Will Someone Please Think Of The Children?
Hey, Michelle! It’s a good thing there is no larger right-wing strategy to hide behind children and use them as cannon fodder in a losing bid to get stuff like forced pregnancy passed into law.
Like, the campaign ad below from Wisconsin Republican Paul R. Nelson can’t possibly feature the voice and image of a real child. Because what kind of monster would manipulate a little girl into calling her mother a murderer for a TV ad? What sort of cynical, vote-hungry scumbag would — just going on pure speculation here — exploit a marital rift between two parents to get the go-ahead from the father to use their daughter to get back at the mother for her decision not to bear another one of his children?
No, that can’t possibly be what happened here:
Also, David Vitter hired midgets to play his children in this series of 2004 campaign ads compiled by TPM:
Apropos of nothing, here’s 1980 Ohio gubernatorial candidate Jerry Springer taking his “I-got-caught-with-a-hooker” medicine like a man:
And who can forget this:
Gavin adds:

Thanks, I was already nauseated from the migraine. That pushed me over. Jesus Fucking Christ. There damned well *should* be a full court press against the fuckers who made that one, but, I feel compelled to point out, *not* the kid. The kid’s gonna need therapy.

Hey guys, you know, the circumstances may be sort of funny, and the hypocrisy is great and all, but still, a guy died. The fact that he died doing something he felt a need to keep secret because his own identity was so structured around condemning it kind of makes it more sad, in a way.
Plus it’s not like hypocrisy about sex (or paraphilia, or whatever) is a rare story.

Because violence is wrong, it would be wrong to kidnap Paul R. Nelson, implant an embryo into his abdomen, and force him to carry it till viability or face trial for baby-murder. However, contemplating a world where the Secret Brotherhood of St. Gerard* commits such unlawful assaults against godly men whose only crimes involve the abuse of women and children already born… well, such contemplation takes me to a Happy Place.

This is one of those twisty head-games like “liberals are intolerant of intolerance, therefore tolerant.” Liberals don’t like haters’ hate, therefore they must hate haters, therefore they’re haters. And since haters hate everybody, liberals as haters hate everybody because they don’t like people who hate everybody.
Like that!

The Abortion ad would have been more effective with virtually any other procedure, but considering that so-called “partial birth” abortions are/were used almost solely in cases involving the welfare of the Mother and/or a non-viable fetus, it strikes a bit hollow.
Vitter- Changing the kid, in light of his purpoted fetish is just too rich.
Pammy- “They invaded” WTF, look let’s just overlook the par for the course usage of “they” as if Muslims or Arabs or whatever she means represent a homogenous mass rather that a diverse body, the invaded part is just crack-tastic, I mean she’s right when she talks about being attacked, but being invaded, does she not understand the meaning of the word (especially in the context in which she used it– if you’re holding tightly to the definition rather than the common usage you could arague that any attack on the homeland is an invasion, or to take it to an even more absurd degree any attack at all- invadng personal space and what not) or is she intentionally undercutting her point by laying out the case for the resisting in Iraq from the point of view of the Iraqi’s.
