I didn’t give a rats ass either. I went to war because the alternative was get drafted into the Marines. I figured I was pretty smart, I could go Cav and pass the test for aviation, not pilot school, but at least crew. And what a surprise, they fucked me and re-designated me eleven bravo.

I’da stayed home and surfed and got laid if I coulda figured out how to do it.

Now, do I have memories, not all bad and certainly those I wouldn’t trade? Sure.

But on balance, it was a shitty deal.

But that’s kinda the point. War is not good for anyone but the folks who want it and the folks who make the shit we shoot or blow up.
