This isn’t what we had in mind…
Worse is the new better.
Remember when we announced with a great deal of excitement that we would be moving to a new hosting provider and that all would be well and gay once we had? Oh, such promises were made… And now? Now, we’re starting to miss the old folks and chances are you are as well.
We’re currently looking for bigger hamsters and hope to have the situation resolved soon.
The obviously overwhelmed and undertalented management

This is god’s punishment for being cruel to me. You know I have a tremendously fragile ego and self-image, because in my heart of hearts I see who and what I am.

Splurge! Go all out and upgrade to a capybara.
And seriously, pass the collection plate if you need or would like help.

Overwhelmed I believe. Undertalented I do not accept.
However, I will say that I look forward to huge-toad-sized hamsters as I have been locked out of SN! for three days. The only way I could access y’all today was to use Explorer (*shiver*). Apparently neither Mozilla nor Opera knew the secret knock. Please don’t make me keep using Explorer. Please?

On last week’s episode of LOST, Ben snarked to John that The Others electricity was supplied by “two hamsters on large wheels in our top secret lab”. I immediately thought of Sadly, No! when Ben said that.
all would be well and gay once we had?
Woah, woah. Don’t lump us polesmokers in with the suckage of your servers, we’ve got enough problems as it is.

Saying that the site is not gay enough, and saying you need bigger hamsters to bring it to the level of gayness that you promised, is highly offensive and buys into disgusting stereotypes.
I’m going to bring this to Ann Althouse’s attention, because I’m sure she will be equally outraged. I will let her explain it in length, because this issue, like all others, are much more about her than any of us.

I’m very disappointed. You guys have given me countless hours of free entertainment (and every once in a while, I just might’ve learned a thing or two), and THIS is how you repay me?

As someone who “works in AyeTee,” may I recomend that the cat–the one driving the powder blue Volkswagen–be put in charge of all future server negotiations?
You guys should call up Clik n Clack, you could work up a theory of the evolution of “auto mechanics” into “server monkeys.”

Wait. Is this a Denial of Service attack from blogs for brownback, or continued DoS from Gathering of Eagles/Malkin, or is it just bad servers? ‘Cause, damn, if it’s DoS, those fuckers are obsessed, and ought to be prosecuted.
That’s okay, I needed the time off. Sometimes staring into the dark heart of dark darkness that is the right is bad for the soul (you too, blogs for brownback.)

P.S. Speaking of Gathering of Eagles check this comment(http://gatheringofeagles.org/?p=231) from Bareback Rider
“Should we bring a plate? Crusts off the sandwiches I should imagine. I also have a spare tea urn. Bring ‘em on!!!!!”

Woah, somebody needs to photoshop Karl Rove onto that cane-toad picture. It wouldn’t take all that much photoshopping, either.
Maybe you should offer Alberto “Little Fredo” Gonsalez a job on the server treadmills. I hear he’s got his resume out all over town, and you’d save the expense of buying a larger wheel…

Some have claimed the frog’s secretions are hallucinogenic but there is no evidence that the species has actually produced any sort of high in humans.
Part of that urban myth was that licking these toads could produce a halucinatory state similar to that brought on by mushrooms. It’s the same species that inspired Mojo Nixon to name one of his bands “Mojo Nixon and the Toad Liquors”.

No problems loading in Australia. I’m afraid this is a US only problem, probably caused by your government.
The only solution is to ditch the whole “King For 4 Years” nonsense and move to a mature democratic system. Only then will your servers serve as they should.
You’ll thank me for it later.

Fnar fnar fnar. But then you’ve got to spend centuries worth of geek-hours thread-safing the buggers. Why not just go for huge, mutant hamsters, the kind that can kick down the door of the local egg tart shop, break the fingers of three or four heavies, and convince the local triad boss to make things run smoothly.
Well, that’s how it works in Hong Kong.

Not likely. It’s utter shite here in sunny Scandinavia, as well. I vote for bigger, gayer, less dead hamsters.

I’m very glad you’ve posted this. Since the server move, it has been taking 20-30 seconds to bring up any page on Sadly, No! (for those times the HTTP request doesn’t simply time out), even after flushing the DNS cache. But on the few times I managed to get through, I saw regular posts with no mention of these problems. I was beginning to get a complex thinking I was the only person you were trying to shut out of the site.
Please move to a host who knows what they are doing - I’m missing my Sadly, No! fixes.

Hmm, that would explain why office is so empty.
To be more precise, at exactly 12am load times dramtically improve and at 5 am the go back to the slog.
I’m at work so I have time to track these minutia.
