Personal Responsibility? PFFFFFFFFT! We’re Americans!

What the hell is with this:

From troops on the ground to members of Congress, Americans increasingly blame the continuing violence and destruction in Iraq on the people most affected by it: the Iraqis.

Even Democrats who have criticized the Bush administration’s conduct of the occupation say the people and government of Iraq are not doing enough to rebuild their society. The White House is putting pressure on the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and members of the bipartisan Iraq Study Group have debated how much to blame Iraqis for not performing civic duties.

Hey, guys? We invaded their country. We destroyed their infrastructure. We tried rebuilding it by hiring twentysomething Heritage Foundation staffers. If you really want find somebody to blame for Iraq’s troubles, don’t you think the mirror is the first place to look?

Not just Heritage Foundation staffers! We hired kids fresh out of make-believe colleges for Christian home-schooling shut-ins.

And misplaced nine billion dollars.

Hey, personal responsibility means taking care of your own house. So there’s strife in Iraq? Not my kid, not my problem.

Please lose the apostrophe in “trouble’s.”

We give me a headache.

Oh, sure. Blame America first. Next you’ll tell us that the Iraqis didn’t even attack us in the first place!

Wasn’t it said by someone that you’ll never lose money by overestimating the stupidity of the market?

I’m afraid — I hope it’s not true — that it’s pretty hard to lose elections by overestimating the stupidity, vanity, and selfishness of american voters.

Brad R. –

No no no, you have it all wrong. We didn’t “invade” their country, we liberated its 26.8 million citizens (sincee reduced to 26 million or so now, but who’s counting?). And destroyed infrastructure? Haven’t you ever heard of “creative destruction”? We destroyed their infrastructure in order to create it, or something. And 20 something Heritage foundation staffers are teh hott, so I don’t see any objection there.

All this done for the benefit of Iraqis, and what do they do in thanks? Start whining about the lack of air conditioning, and “death squads” and “headless corpses” and “car bombs” etc. etc. etc.

Hey Iraqis – suck it up!! We gave you a large helping of freedom and all you do is complain about is senseless violence, terrorism, and death.

What a bunch of ungrateful children.

Yep.
I saw the incrasingly corpulent Tommy Freidman on TV the other day and he said something that made me gag.
He was like ‘ this all started {the violence} when the Sunnis and the former Bathists decided to launch an unprising’
And I was thinking ok yeah sure they sowed the wind and they are reaping the wirlwind, but why did they sow the wind to begind with? Why did the Sunni’s opt for violence instead of politics in the first place?
Gee maybe it had something to do with our completely criminal policy of de Baathafication and disbanding the Iraqi Army? Like maybe we set this in motion with our idiotic actions under Bremer?

And Friedman is supposed to be one of America’s leading analists when it comes to political science? Sad.
The buck stops where its convinient for us.

It was necessary to destroy Iraq in order to save it.

There’s nothing like setting someone’s house on fire, and giving them a watering can to put it out with. Thanks, America!

Bombs were dropped. Government was disbanded. Looting happened. Infrastructure was destroyed. Lives were lost. Sectarian fighting happened.

Mistakes were made.

And, of course, nobody could have predicted any of this. Except for those lefty loons who did predict it, but they’re a bunch of dirty hippies and we can’t listen to them, ever. Never, never, nevernevernever lalalalalalaican’thearyoucan’thearyou!!!

Oh, and why can’t the Democrats fix this for us? They have no plan! And they hate America!

Those damned Iraqis, they can’t do anything right, can they?

So when are we going to start bombing Iran? Why haven’t we started yet? The Iranians are begging us to liberate them!

I think you meant that last line to read And “misplaced” nine billion dollars. Because even if PNAC hack Michael Ledeen’s daughter doesn’t know where that $9,000,000,000 went, you know she’s pretending around her home-schooled little friends that she totally pulled off a coup on the evil guvmint. And they totally believe her, even though she keeps forgetting her wallet so they always have to pay for her drinks.

And Friedman is supposed to be one of America’s leading analists when it comes to political science?

You have to admit it takes… dedication… for Friedman to ram his head so far up his own anus, and in public no less. Tom was going to be an analyst when he first started publishing, but his editors told him (correctly!) that pulling factoids out of his @ss would pay better.

Smiling Mortician

Which explains, I think, why he is actually an analist and not an analyst.

And I think it’s “crapulent” … although I guess he could be “corpulent” as well.
