I thought deadheads were a tolerant bunch who just wanted to make music and spread love. If Anne Coulter wants to be a part of that organization then I think it should be respected, not rejected out of hand. Maybe she’ll learn something! I think what most of you are afraid of is maybe she’ll teach something. . . . .Can’t have that, can we . . .

As same era deadhead said, both the “trustafarians” and the tourhead moochers all showed up about the same time in the mid- to late-80s, long after the band’s best years. I know that the Dead are considered tragically unhip, but their music from the late 60s and early 70s, which was when I first found them, was raw, energetic, and in many ways revolutionary. Coulter and her ilk were mainly there for the party and the circus-like atmosphere that nearly ruined Dead shows in the later years; their approach was more like “isn’t it amusing to see all the quaint hippies”. She may have caught sight of the reality–thinking the shows “awesome” (actually only a small percentage of those late-era shows were “awesome” though many were good)–but she clearly didn’t get it.

Coulter is a wine-drinking Deadhead wannabe who has no understanding about the Dead…or anything else for that matter.

As to the dead. the shows were great until rich drunks who should have been at jimmy buffet, and the white dreadlock losers really made shows too irritating and too smelly to enjoy. This combined pack of morons ruined the last show i saw — except for meeting my future spouse– by tearing down a wall at the venue. The concert parking lot was filled with the kind of drunken losers the Ms.? coulter seems to have been.

Sign me as Still bitter for losing those 10th row center tickets and that cute 22 yearold i was going camping with, due to the drunken sots that destroied the venue.

yeah…so, franken actually spent time with the dead. he and his old comedy partner (tom davis?) were actually featured in sketches on “dead ahead” which was a video of some of the dead’s 1980 run at radio city music hall. i mean, he may not SEEM like a deadhead to ann, but anyone who is in a movie with garcia seems to count. (yeah, go ahead and make fun of me. i’m a big dead fan.)

I wasn’t aware that Bill Frist (and his toned, hairy biceps) was working for Clinton’s team.

I definitely had a short fuse when it came to scammy little stenchballs sidling up to me and begging me to “kick down a splash, brah?” of my beer (“Did you actually just beg me for my BACKWASH, you shit-smeared dumbfuck??”) but I’d have taken their nonsense at a Dead show any day over having to deal with drunken, braying, gucci-fuck yuppies like Coulter. When I hear that soul-rotted twat blathering on about the “family vibe” at Dead shows, trying to somehow justify her own hatemongering, or to give herself some sort of “street cred” amongst decent human beings, all I can think is that there just isn’t a circle of Hell that is torturously miserable by HALF for the likes of her.

There were plenty of lame-asses on Dead tour, I realize, but CRIKEY!!

Didn’t Alan Keyes do a stage dive during one of their gigs once? I seem to remember that.

In short, much of my experience with Deadheads was of judgmental mooches who felt that I owed them something and who were perfectly comfortable offending thier hosts with their inablilty to accept differences. Thus, I am unsurprised that Ann Coulter is a Deadhead.

Oh, I suspect that she voted in the wrong precinct to make sure her regular dealers didn’t knock on her door for back money.
