I actually was banned by Patterico after showing that he falsely claimed – repeatedly – that Kerry never released his medical records. He accused me of lying about him and, when challenged, couldn’t name the lie. He also accused me of sock puppetry (one of his favorite accusations) and then had to retreat from that when the evidence showed he was wrong.

His behavior was very strange in that he had set his blog to filter my comments for moderation to delay the postings. Stranger yet, he went to my old blog and spent hours trying to find an example where I banned somebody to try and claim so false equivalency.

In fact, the only thing I was guilty of was calling him out on some weak and some false arguments. This was a couple of years ago, so maybe he’s changed his colors for you. But I wasn’t the only liberal he banned under some changing code that he never applied to his rightwing commenters.

Well, as a person who started reading the right wing blogosphere at Goldstein’s place and knows about irrational banning, I just don’t find that true. Patterico and I disagree on almost everything, but he’s not insane. He’s intensely political, but he’s never banned me and I’ve been commenting there for two years of pretty respectful disagreement.

Although, I have to add, his emotions are so high on this Breitbart thing (again, I can’t figure out why), he has made noises in the banning direction.

Someday, maybe we can talk about how objectively crazy that site is because one of their admins was a prison guard at Gitmo and to them that makes him a SUPER, DUPER HERO, because, unlike most soldiers, he had to “fight” the terrorists AND the liberals!

I mean, relatively, Patterico is way more sane than Ace of Spades or McCain or Blackfive or Goldstein’s house of wrestling, but objectively….well, it’s out there and just demonstrates how weird conservatives are in 2010. I thought the militia’s and the David Koresh love and Ruby Ridge was certifiable, but contemporary cons make those guys look reasonable.
