See, when I hear something stupid like this, my first instinct is, “Wait a second – that can’t be right! He’s lying or distorting this somehow…” and then my next impulse is to search for what the scam is (of course, it’d be nice if the media did that fact-checking more often for us). In this case, it’s not that hard in that he’s comparing the crime rate in a city to that of an entire country.
