Crist has done only one thing as governor that I supported, and that was ordering the racist state song shitcanned for his gubernatorial inauguration. I’d just like to rudely interrupt and yell the following;

This is excellent news for the Philadelphia Phillies.

There is the the fact that Yankee Stadium has one, count ‘em one, major highway leading to its immediate vicinity while Shea Citifield has three, if you count the LIE and the short ride on the GCP.

My daughter is learning well: she already refers to the Yankees as “the Stinkees”.

Although I must admit that I was rooting real hard for the Yankees to win game five … because if they won that game, it would have met that I wouldn’t have had to deal with Yankees traffic on my commute home yesterday (instead I just stayed really late at work).

Come to think of it, I wouldn’t mind the Yankees so much if more of their fans took public transport instead of causing huge delays on the GW Bridge or if, alternatively, there was viable public transport between my workplace and the city so that I could take public transport on game days.

Maybe my beef ain’t so much with the Yankees as with NJ Transit and the MTA/NYCTC who have constructed public transport routes almost for the sole purpose of getting commuters into lower/mid-town Manhattan in the morning, commuters out of lower/mid-town Manhattan in the evening and party-goers between lower/mid-town/Times Square Manhattan and the ‘burbs at night. Ya know people go to Yankees games in the Bronx or might live in the city and work in the ‘burbs?

Nah — it is the Yankees and their fans that bug me. Somehow a bunch o’ people drive into Mets games yet it doesn’t kill the Grand Central Parkway when there is a Mets’ game.

As a Mets fan, I congratulate Team Steroid on yet another tainted championship. Cheat to win, a shining example of Republican values.

And they dropped their share of the vote in half. Under 30′s were disproportionately unmotivated, although to be fair – that’s in comparison to last year when they turned out in record numbers.

Still, here’s the point – Obama is credited with being preternaturally awesome at turning out diaffected twenty-somethings. That didn’t happen Tuesday, despite all the time he spent stumping for Corzine. Why?

There was nothing for you to care about. This past year, despite all the progress that’s been made, the Obama administration has been playing to the Village with their quest for civility and bipartisanship. They are behaving like the geezery and stale Washington insiders that they are. No wonder the activist wing of the Democrats phoned it in – what the hell was the point?

Not that everyone else isn’t, just that the youth are as well.

Christ, I’m 26, and I’m not even sure if we had an election in Florida the other day. I’m guessing no, since they’re holding onto the scrap of Florida as their security blanket, but hell if I know what stupidity runs through their brains.

Presidential elections are easier to get out the vote youth-wise, since it’s rather noticeable, rather like the Olympics, but there was other shit to do this year.

Like take a nap, or have dinner at Outback, or something.
