Speaking as someone who was but 17 at the time. Lieberman’s video game crusade may have had some influence as well. Between him and Tipper’s windmill-tilting, I seriously thought that letting them into office would open up a bunch of censorship of the media…

Again, not enough to make me ever consider the Republicans as anything but far-right douchebags who were going to throw our country down a Reagan-shaped shithole, but still enough to make me wary of Gore winning.

Also, like I said, Holy Joe was an insider, Village approved Republican to ‘balance’ the ticket, so I saw it as a DNC triangulation ploy. Unfortunately, Clinton had already triangulated the democrats into a cul de sac. Heavy on the SACK, especially in the case of Loserman.

b) Gore, unlike Palin-McCain, did win. But Jebbie and Kittie got it close enought to for the 5/9 of the Supreme Court to steal, with crucial help from Kit Seelye and Ceci Connolly, journamalists from the ‘liberal-biased’ NYT and WaPoop.

He fucking chose JOE FUCKING LIEBERMAN as his running mate. Lieberman is not the “conscious” just because you like his corporate dick-licking.

He chose Lie-berman because he is Jewish. Period. It was an attempt to be edgy (“first Jewish VP!”), which would also appeal to a powerful Democratic constituency, and thereby nail down the Florida vote – I think he knowingly gave up on his home state (IOW, he knew his pick would drive the old dixiecrats away) to go for a larger electoral chunk.

Obviously, it failed, just like McCain’s similar ploy with Palin failed.
