America’s Worst Law Student™, Class of 2010*

ABOVE: Facebook shot of Anthony Dick (left); Screengrab of Tab Hunter from
Damn Yankees (1958)(right).
Shorter Anthony “What a” Dick, America’s Shittiest Website™
Re: Litmus Test for Enlistment
- What the Army needs is more white supremacists and fewer Negroes.
‘Shorter’ concept created by Daniel Davies and perfected by Elton Beard. We are aware of all Internet traditions.™
*The position of America’s Worst Law Student™ has been vacant since Ben Shapiro graduated from law school. Anthony Dick is President of the Stanford Law Chapter of the Federalist Society.
DISCLAIMER: Sadly, No! has named Dick AWLS™ without any reference to his academic record at Stanford but solely based on his advocacy of the rights of white supremacists at the same time he decries racial preferences. Also, he deserves the title for voluntarily posting on his Facebook page a picture that makes him look like a cheesy matinee idol from the 1950s.

Certainly little Anthony is waiting for his number to be called to serve. Right? Right? So at least he can test out his theory. Right? On the battlefield, because no white supremacist will really know until he goes out there and finds out how popular his social ideals are out in the killing field with some boys from Detroit, or my hometown, St. Louis.

Evidently, belonging to StormFront is merely an expression of youthly irrational exuberance, a tempest in a teapot, and no concern.
Clearly the internets provide more rich sources of sentences to mine & glue together on ANY topic, than merely trying to use old-fashion print newspapers & magazines.
I’m sure the drill-sarge will be fascinated with his definition of “expressive groups” and views on “unit cohesion”.

Amazing how A. Dick misses the most obvious parallel – gays in the military. According to reptards, being gay is a “choice”, much like being a bigot white supremacist is a choice, and of course their argument has long been that letting Teh Faggortz serve hurts “unit cohesion” because all the straight soldiers think gay is icky. I’m sure the situation is completely different when a Klan member is serving in a unit where half the soldiers are black, however.

PeeJ,
While Cornell is arguably in the most liberal town in New York State, if you walk outside of Ithaca, you’ll find a rock-ribbed conservative county that Mean Mr Mustard, Esq would find quite accomodating to his particular brand of hatred.
While the Federal reps are all liberal Democrats (mostly because of Ithaca’s vote…Tompkins was the only county Hillary did not carry in the state), the state senators, who split up Ithaca and its environs three ways thus diluting its votes, are all conservative Republicans.

Even back in the day (mid 60s) there were Young Republicans and gung-ho ROTC types on campus, in small numbers.
And in closing, may I say that at least we didn’t give The Shrub a degree (Harvard, Yale), and that Condoleeza is not a grad but only hired help (and on leave at that, pending the disposition of my bequest which states that if she is ever allowed to teach there again I’m giving all my money [sob] to herpes research).

If the GOoPers ever gain power again they might decide the NAACP is an extremist group (the comment about Dems was exactly that sort of veiled threat, IMHO).
But would this guy seriously argue that KKK members should be allowed in the army with access to guns and what not? Hey, Al Qaeda is an extremist group (the KKK has a history as a terrorist group, btw) — should we allow former Al Qaeda members to just up and join our army?

Burstan Taint: the intersection of dentistry and law is a tad unusual, and I was also surprised by it. My sweetie practices bio-tech ip law – a very science-y area, actually more in accord w/the Ph.D. But the dental background contributes to the knowledge and expertise for this field of law. Yeah, you have to be motivated (amazing bc in some ways sweetie can be a slacker) to get all those degrees & pursue this area of law.
Very egg-headed, which is amazing to me, bc tainted Oily seems like the biggest kind of doofus going. Oily must be smarter than she looks and behaves, though, bc it’s also not that easy to pass the CA bar. I know some pretty smart folks who got law degrees at good law schools, who simply couldn’t pass the CA bar.
So, Oily is certainly quite the contradiction in terms. My assumption is that someone is paying her big time to be a big time pain in the @ss.

Hey Sadlies, wanna help me poke Jake Tapper with a stick?
Tapper has a post up heralding how he concern-trolled Gibbs at a press conference about “how DARE the White House claim that Fox is not a news organization”. And, Tapper doesn’t even WORK for Fox.
So, doop-de-doo, I go into comments and post the following:
How is Fox different from a news organization?
Gee, I dunno, Jake. When was the last time ABC News organized and pimped a partisan political protest?
How often has NBC News made the “mistake” of posting a photo of a disgraced Republican elected official, and accidentally identified him with a “D” after his name? Or vice versa?
When was the last time CBS News taped an interview with an elected official, and then edited the video to bolster an argument that the official said exactly the opposite of what he or she actually said?
If you truly cannot see the difference between what Fox and news organizations do, Jake, you’re probably in the wrong profession – or at the very least, working for the wrong “news” organization.
Ok, so the comment posts…and then a few minutes later, it mysteriously “disappears”. Meanwhile, all the wingnut “yeah, right ON, Jake!” comments remain intact. So I go back in, and re-post it, preceeded by the following:
Funny, but I posted the following earlier only to see it mysteriously “disappear” a few minutes later – meanwhile all the comments from rightwingers/Fox viewers seem to still be there – lots of them, as WWW noted. Maybe I gave offense by not adopting the naivete that would be required to overlook the obvious disingeniousness of your exchange with Gibbs. So here it is again:
This comment, too, lasted for a couple of minutes.
So, dear Sadlies, if it amuses you to help me troll Jake Tapper, then clip my original comment from above, go here, and paste that comment preceded by a line or two of your own, maybe even something along the lines of how Jake or whoever is manning his site wants to make sure no one gets to read it, so it’s been deleted multiple times. And how pathetic is that?

Disclaimer: I’ve gone to law school but didn’t finish and work in the legal profession (more in a helpful capacity). I’ve never taken a bar exam anywhere, but I know many who have. My understanding is that it does require a lot of memorization, and it would seem that an eidetic memory would help a lot.
That said, I do also think the bar requires more than just the regurgitation of facts and includes so-called “reasoning” and such. There are essay questions (or, at least there used to be; I’m not as familiar w/the exam these days).

The Chaser’s War on Everything (another ABC show) couldn’t be watched online outside of Oz. Aussies can’t watch full episodes of Colbert or Daily Show online.

“Do the packets arrive upside down…”
They swirl counterclockwise as they travel through the innerducks and they crash into the northern ones.

To the chaps who are begging the question: Is the video working or are you getting the “not available in your area” notice?

Via Thers, a wingnut attempts to take the fun out of horror movies, just in time for Halloween. Hilarity fails to ensue.
Sample: Meanwhile, the military was in the thick of the action, bravely fighting against the Cloverfield monster and handling an impossible situation the best way they could.
Yawn.
Better: However, that mild annoyance does not to detract from the sweet, sweet joy of watching a guy in a Ronald Reagan mask taking an ax to dirty, drug addled hippies throughout the movie. If a conservative had made this movie, instead of David Arquette, liberals would be calling it a “hate crime.”
There’s the resentment we all know and love!

That sucks. It’s really cringe worthy and funny. Stealing the underpants of Aussie Jewesses and Eurasian girls to in an effort to show that racial mixing is genetically sound is quite disturbing/funny/arousing/right and, when Safran does it, controversial.
It’ll probably be on Youtube soon. Check it out. John Safran: Race Relations.

Notably absent is Invasion of the Body Snatchers, because a movie in which people are transformed into non-thinking vegetables is a happy fantasy for them.
I would posit that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is another good conservative movie, as it is all about family values in the Heartland.

Someone needs to dub Leatherface’s frustrated chainsaw-wielding dance at the end with someone repeating “The fact is”, and I think we’d have a great idea of what it’s like to be Gary Ruppert’s neighbor.

that Townhall guy thinks “The Dead Zone” is a CONSERVATIVE horror flick? Oh god hahahahaha. He knows nothing, does he? Everybody I know thinks Shrub = Greg Stillson.
I still get chills at the end of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” when Donald Sutherland does that weird thing the pod people did with their throats to call out the “unpod” people. I saw the original too, and that was great, but, since I saw the remake first, that one had the most impact for me.

From the 10 movies link:
The Exorcist (1973): This in one of the most genuinely disturbing movies that you’ll ever see and it’s not for the faint hearted. But, it does feature self-sacrificing priests who are fighting spiritually against true evil. That’s very rare for Hollywood, where members of the clergy are habitually treated as drunkards, hypocrites, perverts, and villains.
Um….really? “Bells of St.Mary’s” anyone?
Seriously, what movies is he talking about?

Everybody I know thinks Shrub = Greg Stillson.
Exactly.
Only now that I’ve been introduced to Sarah Palin, I think she’s more like Greg Stillson in her animal-killing, mean-minded way than Bush, that drunken douche.

g – I think you’re right. Sarah Palin is way scarier even than Shrub.
And spot on re Bells of St. Mary’s.
I think he’s talking about the movies in his head that the Voices tell him are “conservative”. Hahaha.

It wouldn’t play for me. No message about being “outside approved sectors” or anything like that. It just wouldn’t play. Inverted packets or something.

I used to tell people that The West Wing‘s popularity was due to the fact that it allowed liberals to fantasize that Martin Sheen was really the president, but unfortunely for them Martin Sheen really was the president — it was just that it was the wrong Martin Sheen.

I’m sure that conservatives of ’83 were eager to embrace The Dead Zone‘s message when you consider who was President at the time.
Oh, wait.
