Speaking of plagiarists…
Two years ago we helped fellow Canadian Adam Yoshida:
Adam has an idea that’s so crazy, it might just work:
What I propose is this, in the near future, representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand should be invited to Washington [...] to develop and sign a treaty which provides for a formal Alliance between these countries and creates a common market for all. All tariffs and virtually all labour mobility restrictions between citizens of these nations would cease to exist.
Adam’s venture needs a name however, as he himself recognizes:
I’m not sure what to call this alliance. The “League of Good Nations” was one that quickly came to mind before being discarded.
Ryan Thomson once had a similar idea. Then Kaye Grogan. And now? We give you, English Prime Minister Tony Blair:
British Prime Minister Tony Blair has called for a global alliance to defend universal values of justice, fairness and freedom from fear.
Blair to ‘tough it out’ on Iraq [...]
“If the going gets tough, we tough it out,” he said, as he stressed the need for a global alliance to fight terror.
Are there a lot of suicide bombings taking place in the vicinity of 10 Downing Street these days?

I somewhat doubt that Bush would agree that fairness is a universal value. And he certainly wouldn’t like freedom from fear. How are Republicans supposed to get votes without scaremongering?

No idea if it’s the same Adam Yoshida, or what. But, apparantly, he’s been arrested.

When Tony Blair says “freedom from fear”, he means “surveillance cameras on every street corner”. The man’s proposed solution to every social problem over here is to arrest anyone acting outside the social norm.

Wait, wait! Can’t we call it the:

Wouldn’t that be soooo sick?

Bodkin: who would be who, though? Presumably two-party America would be Jekyll and Hyde, while Britain would be Quatermain gallivanting around the world. Australia could be former prisoner Nemo, while New Zealand could be the Invisible Man Who. But who would Canada be?
GuinnessGuy said,

But Blair lives at Number 11, so even if there were bombings at number 10, a few casualties from the Brown family are a small price to pay, after all.

Dorian Grey? There has to be a map of some war-torn hellhole Canada somewhere in the bowels of Ottawa. No country can be that polite without a catch…

The Adam Yoshida thing is a fake. But you knew that, right? That was a joke, yes?

Adam’s point seems to be countries run by people of Anglo-Saxon descent need to stick together. How about the “Anglo Brotherhood”?

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I thought maybe the name “The League Of No Brown People” might be a good name.

No.

Waitaminute! An alliance already exists. It’s called the British Commonwealth. So, what he’s proposing is that the US rejoins the crown?

As someone who is presumably part Japanese, would Yoshida be allowed in his own Brotherhood? And has Michelle interned him yet?

Uh, interred him, even.

‘freedom from fear’ – which they acheive by watching everything you do and locking you up for good if you step outside the lines? Nice.
(Are there any queers in the theatre tonight?)

Yoshida’s a racist, nazi nutcase. Completely bonkers. In any case, people of “Anglo-Saxon” descent are a small minority in Canada, so maybe Yoshida should exclude it from his re-invigorated Teutonic Bund.

That Teutonic-Japanese thing has been tried before. It didn’t go so well.

I propose we call our alliance The Universal League of Justice, Fairness and Freedom. All citizens would all wear spandex leotards, just like Kaye Grogan!

Thanks Dan S. Nice to be corrected. Not that a first rate loon like Yoshida might not actually be that crazy, but I’ll have to be more careful.
Wouldn’t want to pull a Goldstein.

Iran is an Aryan nation.
Hence the name, in fact.
The obvious name is “The British Empire”. In fact we’ve tried that before, and it was working fine, but someone got all upset. (Meaningful glare.)

So Tony Blair has called for a ‘global alliance to defend universal values of justice’.That has to be the biggest laugh l’ve had today. While(President)Blair is jetting off all around the world like some super sonic Messiah(or so he thinks)and poking his nose into international politics, his own country is falling apart.Law and order is a farce. We have become a back to front society where criminals are treated like sick people and their victims are treated like criminals.ln England,lf a monster violates or even murders a child,he is treated as the secondary victim and is imprisoned,at great expense to the overburdoned English tax payer, there to spend years in relative luxury and comfort when we all know he should be taken out and disposed of.Unfortunately, the English voter(l keep saying English here for a reason)is so wrapped up in his/her own little world of Soaps and football and celebrity magazines that he doesn’t even notice his country being sold down the river by Blair. He has given British Passports away in their millions to undeserving economic migrants from the east and Africa.l say undeserving because if they were worth their salt they would stay in their own countries and help rebuild them. But who can blame them for coming here, after all, they are invited and who could resist living in a country where you’re given a house a car,all the money you need to start a business or if you don’t want to work, ther’s always the tax payer.Scare mongering? No,the truth!! lt seems my forefathers sweated down the coal mines and laboured in the Mills and died in their millions on the battlefields of Europe and the far east for nothing. We are(in England)paying the price for our complacency and general laziness. We have been overun by an invading army who never fired a shot because our so-called leaders lowered the draw bridge and invited them in to corrupt and Mongrolise our nation.Well done Tony,lf there’s any sanity left in the world your name will go down as the most destuctive politician of all time.
