I’ve heard of ladies coquettishly dropping their handkerchiefs at gentlemen’s feet to get attention, which would fall within the bounds of Miss Pawlik’s world view of male-female relations (ie, somewhere around men’s feet.) I do believe Miss Pawlik has exceeded her own boundaries by sending the snot-encrusted thing in email, though.

btw, my recollection is that a few weeks back you declined to reveal the contents of an Amber e-mail to you on the ground that gentlemen did not reveal such communications. Have you become less gentlemanly of late?

It came down to whether we wanted to be a family blog or a gentlemanly one. Family blog won, and gentlemanly went out the window.
