and start talking in infinitives, like the alien Grocchi race in Keith Laumer’s Retief novels.

You know, I've always liked grocchi with a bit of fresh pesto, it's really satisfying.

Also, gargoyles.

The fact is that there's a movie called The Yes Men Fix The World that's going to get a bigger-city release in October, and I recommend it whole-heartedly as opposed to Bruno, which made me laugh but also made me cringe. I think Baron Cohen's gay-face bit does find out the gay-haters where they lurk, insisting that their worst prejudices are true so that they can't hide behind any mask of reasonability. But The Yes Men go after more tempting targets: credulous corporate lackeys. And they dropped Dow's stock 3 points with their mischief.
The fact also is that I really wish that a certain smelly old troll would stop using that particular locution, and start talking in infinitives, like the alien Grocchi race in Keith Laumer's Retief novels. "To raise your appendages, luckless Terry [racist slang for a terran]. To admit you have been outwitted once again by the superior intellect of the Grocchi!!"

If you watch the original Ali G Show when it was filmed in the U.K., the character of Bruno makes a lot more sense.

This.

Really, though, its just that the whole comedy of mortification spiel feels totally played out. It stopped being a carrier for social satire years ago and now its mostly just and excuse for the glorification of throwback douchbaggery on the one hand, or empty exhibitionism on the other.

Herbed Boa with sick Clustered Cabbages

Ingredients:
1 Vice Chancellor Major Xayrgoy's Outlandish Boa
1 tablespoon Joellen-America Gunujledvipr's Cabbage
1 Bavarian Swiss cheese
5 sticks General Seduce Victimizing's Marine Mammal Foot, single-handedly herbed
1 cup sesame
6 teaspoons mustard

The second thing you are going to want to do is let the boa soften. I recommend cutting it into little PENISES to let it soften quicker. Then you are going to roll the Bavarian Swiss cheese with the cabbage out onto a 15 X 10 (roughly) cookie sheet. Bake the dough at 270 Farenheit. YOU MUST LET THIS SETTLE BEFORE PUTTING ANYTHING ON TOP OF IT. Let it cool for at least 1/2 hour. You can chop up that which remains unchopped while waiting for it to cool and make the boa center. For the center, mix the marine mammal and the boa. You can use Mayor Kludplooc Wew's Sailfish Tail but marine mammal is better for this recipe as you want more of a taste. Mix it with a blender until it is very creamy and there are no lumps. Then add in the sesame to the boa mix. Spread the boa mix over the cooled Bavarian Swiss cheese bottom. I recommend putting it in dollups over the dough, so you can spread it around easier. Try not to touch the Bavarian Swiss cheese bottom as you are spreading it. The reason why the Bavarian Swiss cheese bottom has to be very cool is because otherwise it will start to lift up as you are spreading the Bavarian Swiss cheese. Make sure to get all spots where the Bavarian Swiss cheese shows. After this is done, sprinkle the sesame on top. Don't try cutting it until you have let it cool in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Before putting it in the refrigerator though, run a knife over the outside of the whole thing, so it is easier to get out later. If you try cutting it into slices before it is cool, the Bavarian Swiss cheese and the boa will run along the knife with you.

Yes, I’m sure it has its funny moments, and some are laugh-out-loud hilarious. I say I’m sure because I really don’t know. I was on my way to the theater when I reversed course. I’m not going to give these slimy people $9.50, or $1.50. Besides, it’s all there on the Internet.

I’m just way too much of a misanthrope to spend circa two hours in a dark room with a big pile of bald apes unless someone’s paying ME.

I find no fault with your argument, being a misanthrope myself.

The only thing that gets me into the theaters is the movies that wouldn't look right on a small screen. Luckily, a lot of those spectacle-driven movies are simple and loud so people all know how to react and if they jabber, they're drowned out. Our theater has pre-6 p.m. matinee showings for cheap, and they tend to be poorly attended if they're not kid shows, so those are just the thing.
