Too Bad We Can’t Ask Them, But They’re Both Brain Dead
Shorter Elliott Abrams:
- Yes, you can take my word for it that there was a verbal agreement between George Bush and Ariel Sharon regarding Israeli settlements, and it is deeply offensive to me that Hillary Clinton regards it as less worthy than a formal treaty.
‘Shorter’ concept created by Daniel Davies and perfected by Elton Beard. We are aware of all Internet traditions.™

Hey, kids! Let’s sell some F-22s to Iran and use the profits to support the Iranian Contras.

Isn’t that essentially a legally actionable confession?
And can’t these fucks act like most other third- or fourth-generation immigrants & stop sweating the old country so much? Assimilate, already, like you keep screeching at everyone else to do.

You know, if George Bush said it, then that’s just as good as getting the 2/3 approval the Constitution requires from both the House and Senate for a treaty. Right?

Because convicted felons make such reliable Republicans and witnesses to international verbal agreements.

I think Norman Podhoretz’s ex-son-in-law made his stance on assimilation pretty clear in his book deploring the rise in Jewish-goyim ‘miscegenation.’
But then The Pod himself first learned to hate-hate-hate when, as a boy in Brooklyn, he and his arriviste parents lived in a neighborhood of Negroes and, worse, comparatively wealthier German-Jews who’d come in an earlier immigration wave and had totally embraced assimilation. All the Pod family and extended family’s “more Jew than you” attitude (which is the true root of their insanity) as well as its ingrained double standard of “assimilation for thee but not for me” comes from this experience.

Two parties meet and promise to give/keep something that doesn’t belong to either of them. Of course we should honor it! In fact Queen Elizabeth andI have an agreement for me to take over New England.

Yezzz, I’ve read the ur-Pod’s lovely treatise on race in the city & whatnot.
Kills me that there’s little to no religious component to their identity politics, oddly enough. Other then the usual war-god crap, anyway.

Actually, the best part of Abrams’ article was this:
“Here Mr. Bush dropped such language, referring to the 1967 borders — correctly — as merely the lines where the fighting stopped in 1949…”
So: our border with Mexico is merely the line where fighting stopped in 1848! What’s all this talk about a border fence?

“Elliot said it, I believe it, that settles it!” Er, wrong, ah, bumpersticker. Oops. That evil, lying rat-fuck may be the scummiest of the Tricky Dick camp to continue breathing and uttering discernable words.

I understand that Sharon mumbles “ouch!” when you pinch his fingers.
So, that’s not technically ‘brain dead,’ but it’s getting there.

Such an agreement should be terminated in the accepted fashion, either by publicly saying “I dissolve thee, I dissolve thee, I dissolve thee,” or with a verbal ‘signing statement’ after the precedent of G.W. Bush, for which it is sufficient to quietly murmur “…not!” in the Rose Garden.

Despite fervent denials by Obama administration officials, there were indeed agreements between Israel and the United States regarding the growth of Israeli settlements on the West Bank.
How conveeeenient for them. Palestinians? Who what now? I think I’ll annex my neighbor’s garage; I asked a dear friend, who lives on the other side of town, and she said it was fine with her.

The simple fact that you cannot verify the agreement is only more proof that the agreement exists.

When I was in college, during the Reagan years, we granola heads were concerned about the cold warriors behavior in Latin America. El Salvador was one hot spot. But Guatemala’s USA backed right wing Military dictatorship was disappearing a large number of people and I remember Elliot Abrams was the Secretary of State for Human Rights for Latin America. How’d he do?
Here Ya go ——->> One specific example of the low point in the Guatemalan military’s abuse of power during the period occurred in 1985, when human rights advocate Rosario Godoy was abducted, raped, and mutilated by units of the Guatemalan military, and her baby’s fingernails were torn out. In response, enraged private human rights groups contacted Abrams’ office, demanding a response to this tragic and unacceptable situation. Abrams’ disgraceful letter responded that no evidence existed that indicated a cause of death which differed from the official report; that they were the victims of a traffic accident.
