So that’s why!
Porter Goss does his own version of it’s hard, hard work:
Al Qaeda leaders bin Laden and al-Zarqawi haven’t been found “primarily because they don’t want us to find them and they’re going to great lengths to make sure we don’t find them,” Goss said in the interview broadcast Tuesday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
If only they wanted to be found!

So was that just some blithering excuse, or do they really think they’re coming up with profound explanations? I’m beginning to believe the latter.
It’s a variation on the indignation they express when Iraqis don’t wholeheartedly embrace and support the occupation of their country — “Don’t they realize we’re the good guys???”

Man, too funny. So I’m sure all those times criminals/terrorists/foreign combatants have been caught throughout the known history of the world is because they were just itching to wind up in the enemy’s prisons.

…maybe that “I want Osama’s head on a pike” thingy was just a little off-putting.

Obviously my car keys have gone to great lengths to make sure that I don’t find them. These things are teh sneaky.

We know exactly where the terrorists are. They’re in the area around Baghdad and Tikrit, and to the north, south, east and west somewhat.

Well, that’s what really chaps my hide about these terrorists. They know we’re looking for them, yet they have the audacity to hide! Have they no shame?
I know! Let’s say we’ve stopped looking for them, and then they’ll stop hiding! Maybe they’ll take a couple weeks off in Acapulco or Carnival Cruise (yay Cathy Lee!) or something, and we can sweep in and grab them. Yeah, that’s the ticket!

I feel so much better with a smart man like him around.

I would have to agree with Porter Goss that Porter Goss is “not qualified” for the CIA.
As Goss put it;
“Uh, so, the things that you need to have, I don’t have.”

Have they tried calling “Ollee ollee in free!”?

Ok, so we’re all clear, right? Every dumb thing that’s possible to say about everything has been said on American mainstream media.
Phew! I’m glad that’s over.

Mal de mer, unfortunately, more dumb things will still be said, until say 2008.

After that, too, Sickduck. Stupidity is non-partisan, much as we might like it to be otherwise.

No kidding. I’m surprised S,N! hasn’t made hay out of Rumsfeld’s…er, Rumsfeldian meditation on the word “insurgency”.

teh – That exchange between Rummy and Pace, was scary.
Looks like Rumsfeld is falling deeper and deeper into incoherence.

As the Daily Show pointed out, even though the president vowed to “smoke ‘em outta their caves,” Osama bin Laden “was a really good hider.”
