Why we’re not rooting for Skippy

Posted at 4:26 by Gavin M.

Will the good guys be the first to reach the landmark goal of a million visitors?
…Or will it be the bad guys?

wow, in sitemeter terms, that’s neck and neck!

well, we didn’t reach our goal by our 3rd blogiversary, so we’ll send some hits your way.

    i’ll give you a shout out tomorrow…

Are you losers counting your own visits??? Three Bulls! took a million percent hit when we decided to play fair and not count playing with ourselves. You should have seen our bedpost. A million notches. Then we found out that one can only notch one’s bedpost if someone else is involved besides lotion. *sigh*

I think Skippy’s visits are fixed though. 58 seconds per visit? That’s not even time enough to read a post. That’s just people clicking over because Atrios told them to.

I’ve got an idea to help y’all out though. After everyone leaves work today, I’m going to get on each computer and set the homepage to S,N!

Will y’all be hiring starting Monday?

By the way, you guys should allow the strikethru html thingy.

no, folks hardly ever stay to read my junk. ever since the beginning, the average length of a visit was a minute and a half.

At least it’s not friggin zero. The Bulls need some Enzyte- Natural Male Enhancement- oops, it deenhanced my wallet and my wang doesn’t stay in the game any longer than before. Wah wah.

Speaking of Three Bulls, I need to petition Seb to add some links on the right column….

I think the sitemeter thing fails to calculate visit length accurately. It only records a time if someone clicks more than page on your blog. So I could visit the main page for an hour, but it will show up as 0:00. But if I click to another page, it records it.

Not only that, but the server-side program we use shows radically different results with both visits and page views, often showing twice the activity that Sitemeter does.

I also got some feedback a couple of weeks ago about the ’165 readers’ the site enjoys. Someone saw the Feedburner link and thought it was a hit counter.

So maybe we can just average the three to get an official total.

Screw it. Just make it up. “Today, S,N! had 1,000,000,000 visitors!”

Don’t look at me, I’ve only contributed one part per thousand of your hits. Whore around like Skippy and you might accomplish something some day.

It looks like you have no shot. Bribes may be the order of the day.

No, the answer, plain and simple, is preemptive kitten strikes.

Wait, no! I’ve figured out how to get a million hits in one day! Send an email to Atrios trashing him for never posting about something you think he should and then talk about he sucks for not supporting the smaller blogs! (You could also have kittens laying in wait to ambush anyone who comes here from Atrios when he links to you saying that he owns that blog so he’ll talk about what he damn well pleases.)

This is probably correct. It might be time to discuss a contingency war plan against…Skippy.

To do otherwise would be irresponsible, perhaps indictably so. Do you want the blood of innocent children on your paws, when you have the means to intimidate them over the border?

…maybe you could call it “Shock and…Paws”
