The story here isn’t that Sarah Palin’s daughter is a naughty, naughty girl. The story here is that a powerful GOP woman, with the authority and power of an entire state behind her, can’t enforce the no-nookie-before-marriage standard that the GOPs want for all of us. Once again, the proper narrative here is that the GOP’s social dream for us is a resounding failure, even at the micro level.

Heh. The only problem with that is that she’d probably give you a blank look, followed by an explanation that Piper was named [for whatever reason, though for the life of me all I can think of when I see the name Piper in connection with Alaska is a Piper Cub].

As for Willow, well… Between the abundant willows that grow up here and the small town of Willow (which coincedentally is not too far from Wasilla), it’s hard to say which influenced her decision.

Trig is a family name, apparently/allegedly from Norway. Bristol was probably named for the Bristol Bay region; given that Mr. Palin is Yup’ik, it wouldn’t surprise me if he was from there.

I have no idea why poor, poor Track was saddled with such a horrible name.

Understood in those terms, progressive sex education is certainly as much — probably more — of a failure than abstinence education.

As opposed to being understood in, you know, terms like NUMBERS, which show that ignorance teaching doesn’t help.
