I mean, how else do you account for the magnificent 4% increase in the market in the 8 years George Bush has been president::"

Indeed, the concept of defacing public buildings is completely alien to Italian culture. Do they even have a word for 'graffiti'?

Then I noticed that the graffiti was dated 1215, 1345, things like that.

See, the subtle differences between "Maricon 1982! Yo yo yo, la rasa!" and "per un buon momento vedere Maria" is lost on Erik.

Taxing capital gains, dividends, and rich people makes me wonder who exactly is gonna supply the capital and investment to grow the economy.

That would be the same small-business sector that's been getting the Nail-Studded Corncob Treatment every time the GOP gives multinationals another rimjob. Thanks to which they're now on life-support just like the economy is as a whole - no coincidence there. No mistake either - the Goopers know that hungry desperate people are slightly more apt to vote for them than are clear-headed, well-off people. Their game-plan is simple: Disaster Capitalism uber alles, & Repo-Depot take the hindmost. They simply don't care how many innocent lives they destroy, as long as it gets them a few more votes (for details, see "Iraq"). Did someone say "domestic terrorism?"
--------

Oh hell - Erik The Redneck is all over this thread - does Nilodor come in a 5-gallon size?

Let's see:

Advocates nationalist economics, but then blows his own vacation money over in Europe, thus making a total ass of himself? Check.

Outed as a sockpuppetting cut-&-paste loser, but comes back for more, acting even more arrogant than ever, with zilch to back it up except MORE xenophobic bile? Check.

Rants about the imminent threat of America becoming an "irreligious multicultural cesspool" depsite history's monotonous record of death & destruction at the hands of the two-legged vermin (you know, good upstanding patriots - like Pol Pot & Adolf Hitler) who've sold their country this exact same weak shit? Check.

Warnings about extremist Wahhabi fanatics - right alongside advocating mutilation for those who dare to enagage in illegal street-art, a position any Mullah would give a big THUMBS UP? Check.

You couldn't "teach" fish to swim, you sad sack of smegma.
Get a clue.
Then get back under the bridge ... unless you ENJOY being laughed at.

I, elitist that I am, spent 2 months in Italy many years ago. I recall a historical site that had these huge frescos of various myths (my Austrian art history friend referred to this site as the "soft porn of the times"). I was shocked to see graffiti at the base of these quite old frescos, especially considering the laser detectors that screamed when you stepped too close. Then I noticed that the graffiti was dated 1215, 1345, things like that. A translation of the museum info indicated that the graffiti was indeed that old, and therefore was preserved by the curators.

But if I'd had my .375 when those ancient bastards were defacing those frescos I would have wasted their ass!

I know this may sound a little harsh but I think the penalty for spray painting public propery in America or anywhere should be that the perpatrator gets his thumbs cut off.

Sounds like Sharia law to me, bucko. You sure you're on "our" side?

Thus we can see that Erik can spend a significant amount of time in a country and absorb NOTHING of it's culture or history, which explains his naive views of America.

Tell me, you can be honest...it was a Perillo Tour, wasn't it?

Another thing, all this talk about how the Dems are doomed and what not. Check out the crowd. Also note that this venue was deemed too small for the main event - so Barry's doing his acceptance speech in front of like, three times that many people.

Garibaldi - This is off topic but reminds me of an amusing and instructive story. I was dating a guy - call him Crazy Larry - who had long, gorgeous, wavy black hair. Imagine my surprise when he introduced me to friends he'd known since high school and I discovered his nickname was "Baldy". I asked why this would be, and his friends laughingly told me that one time Larry arrived in History class, badly stoned and not having done his reading, and was instructed to write a brief essay on one historical personage from the past week's reading and lecture. Well, Crazy Larry could remember bits and pieces of the lecture on Garibaldi and as he could remember little else chose him for the essay, but having never seen the name in print Larry phonetically rechristened the gentleman Gary Baldy.

Always do your homework.

Oh, and just to spread it around a little - remember how Troofy was all-upons about the Dems hiding their greatest liability, you know keeping Michelle Obama out of the spotlight.

Good luck trying to sell that story.

Damn Larry Kudlow is such an embarrassment. Why is it that the business class continues to watch the channel he has a prominent place in, CNBC?

Also, these guys have to do much better than "Obamanomics". Obama's tax plan isn't much beyond "let the Bush tax cuts expire as they were written into law to do".

And since I'm hogging the thread... Mercantilism? WTF?

Erik, mercantilism died in the 1800's. Maybe you've heard of Adam Smith? Holy Hey-Zeus - imagine if the global economy was resticted in size to what it was in the 1800's... But I totally see why Erik lurves him some mercantilism - forget the rising tide lifting all boats, if Erik scuttles everyone else's boats (mooslems first) then he'll have all the dock spaces for hisself.

I wonder if Bishop Erik thinks that spray painting graffiti onto a temple is a crime that should be stopped by someone exercising 2nd amendment rights. And what if it later turned out that one of the vandals was a POW? Like John McCain was? Surely having spent time as a POW mitigates any guilt from defacing public property.

Here's another question for the gun nuts in the audience - at what point is it reasonable to administer vigilante capital justice? Six youths administering a fatal beating - you'll probably get a bit of support for, some guy arguing over the cost of a fare - probably not. But where in that range do you dry the line - and how do you make every other gun owner respect the line that you've decided upon, and how do you tell when that line's been crossed? Maybe Erik Pontoppidan can do it since he knows everything and is never wrong - also John McCain was a POW so he knows who to shoot and when - but the second amendment that they're so in love with also applies to registered Democrats.

But where in that range do you dry the line – and how do you make every other gun owner respect the line that you’ve decided upon, and how do you tell when that line’s been crossed? Maybe Erik Pontoppidan can do it since he knows everything and is never wrong – also John McCain was a POW so he knows who to shoot and when – but the second amendment that they’re so in love with also applies to registered Democrats.

This kind of shit would never be tolerated here in America. A brave passenger(s) would have pulled out a .357 magnum and blown the raghead bastards brains out!

Well, I'm really late to the bash Erik PantPoopy-dan party but I really wanted to address this wonderful fantasy he has. Um, Erik - you do know that giving guns to everyone means that the six Morrocan foreigners would have had easier access to firearms. Also, with forty passengers, one victim, six thugs and a driver on a bus, unless it was one of those magical buses that have freedom powered-protect-the-innocent force fields - there's no way a guy with a .357 magnum would have been able to "blow the raghead bastards brains out!". Please just visualize what would happen if someone pulled a gun on a crowded bus - crowded with people who all already have guns.

Eric: "We need to get back to National capitalism and put our Nation first instead of building up third world dictatorships"

Maybe you could talk National Capitalism out of shipping jobs overseas then.

Eric: "refugees” from Africa are given 40 euros a day to do nothing!"

One wonders how the Euro manages to keep its head above water, let alone rise against the dollar for most of the summer.

Eric: "The collapse of a once great nation"

Do you have the word "Craftsman" stamped into your forehead? Because you appear to be a most productive tool.
