D-Ho Agonistes
Things are simmering over at Bérubé’s, oh yes indeed, with David Horowitz about to arrive on Michael’s own home turf, at Penn State.
And Horowitz has been needing a spa day lately anyway — preferably at a spa whose waters run with natural mineral lithium. This comes after a string of successful TV appearances:
Despite these facts which are irrefutable the campaign of lies against my efforts continues; leftwing operatives feed journalists and talk show anchors like Alan [Colmes] with these lies and they repeat them. This pincer movement couldn’t be more diabolical or unprincipled.* And is aided by the silence of the conservative media which—with the exceptions mentioned above—has yet to come to my defense.
* This is the moment in a comedy after the guy slips on a banana peel into a shopping cart, rattles down the hill, wipes out into a truck full of chickens, and lands in wet cement amid a hail of straw and feathers, looking up groggily as the soundtrack switches into a light suspense theme, and says dramatically into the camera, “This couldn’t be worse…”

oh and by the way, i read horowitz’s write-up of my professor in his book, aptly titled “the professors”…oddly, it had nothing to do with anything my prof says in the classroom. it was just a couple quotes taken out of context from a panel after 9/11. there was no indication that d-ho had contacted anyone who had any actual knowledge of anything that has ever been uttered by my professor in front of his students . it certainly doesn’t do much to help his case that us poor widdle students are being indoctrinated by stalinists.

Now I’m driving myself crazy trying to think what a big liberal lie would even be.
Then again, I suppose you need to be effective to affect anything and subsequently lie about the outcome or the reasons. Still, it seems an interesting idea to me.

When viewing David Horowitz it is always worth remembering the old Cheech & Chung routine with the druggie and the Jesus freak. The freak tells the druggie “I used to be all fucked up on drugs, now I’m all fucked up on the lord.” Horowitz’s move from far left wingnut to far rightwingnut gave most of us watching whiplash. He needs to feel persecuted.
