From today’s Kos diaries:

Methane on Titan

Has anyone addressed this yet? [note: no link] from the article:

“We have determined that Titan’s methane is not of biologic origin,” reports Hasso Niemann of the Goddard Space Flight Center, a principal NASA investigator responsible for the Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer aboard the Cassini-Huygens probe that landed on Titan Jan. 14.

Niemann concludes the methane “must be replenished by geologic processes on Titan, perhaps venting from a supply in the interior that could have been trapped there as the moon formed.”

Sugg. headline: ‘Methane on Titan Not Space Monster Farts.’

When we run out of oil to drill, we’ll probably start trying to figure out to go after the buttloads (heh) of methane frozen on the ocean floor.

Nah, I have it on good authority that when Bush gets his ANWAR drilling permit, he’ll just round up all the wildlife and whip up a slurry-style fuel alternitive.

Dude, that’s totally gonna be the name of the black metal band I’m forming…

It actually almost sounds like a protest slogan.
“Methane on mars NOT monster farts, Methane on mars…ect.”
Seriously though, stop knocking on daily Kos, or I’ll unleash the flying inbred monkeys. I know some of the readers are a little ‘touched’ in the head, but it really seems to me to be a very progressive open forum. It also has tremendous power to organize it’s readership.

NASA could calibrate that gadget using PupHatter.

Why did somebody Sadly, No! this thread? I think it’s important. Think the space monsters blame it on the dog too?

How intelligent could he be if he left all that methane on mars? We need it here on earth to power cheney’s bionic heart.
