Well, it’s not like you remembered either!

Posted at 20:53 by Sadly, No!

It’s hard to believe and yet it’s true — the beginning of July 2005 marked the second anniversary of Sadly, No!

We’re not amazed we toughed it so long; we’re amazed that you have.

Indeed, some of you (Yosef and Frederick,) have been with us for a long time now. Why? No one knows for sure. Is it because their spouse has locked them out of their bedroom and they need to do something, or because they don’t know how to change the home page setting in their browser? The important thing is: no matter what we’ve posted, (some) people have come. With around 1,500 posts and over 13,000 comments (most of them coming from Brad R. and Gavin M.,) S,N! has been, well, S,N! Are we grateful? Yes. Are we concerned about you? Big time.

Were we not such a lazy people, we’d have prepared a special post involving lots of work with links to our greatest hits, or a special anniversary tribute. Well, if we’ve proven anything over the last two years, it is that we are that lazy.

So now what? Well, we say thanks: thanks to you who searched for spur-m on google, thanks to the guest bloggers that have stopped by over the years: you may remember them from such blogs as World O’Crap or The Dark Window; thanks to Brad R. and Gavin M. for joining such a disreputable outfit as we’ve become busy with non-blog related program activities. Over the last two years we’ve promised little and delivered less, so let us make this pledge for the future: you have our word that Sadly, No! will never “clump up or turn gooey.”

Mazel Tov. Conratulations on being both flavorful and yet a little dicey, like overcooked lobster.

Congrats! I must say, however, that you’re a poor substitute for, er, marital relations.

    Happy, birthday!

For although you are enemies of everything freedom holds,
A birthday is always a time to say, I am one more year old.
And with cakes and presents and friendly songs sung,
It is a happy day for all, even those who want to cover the flag in dung.

Congratulations! It’s been a tough couple of years to be a blogger, but still somehow, you’re not still alive, but still sane (as far as anyone can prove). And for that, you deserve something nice. So, treat yourself to a KitKat on me — you’ve earned it, my friend!

BTW, how did that baby project turn out? Did you use any of the names I suggested? I can give you a list of rejected Gurdon names, if you’re still undecided.

I meant, “You’re not JUST still alive.” You are actually still alive, at least, by German standards.

Dude, what’s with all the plural?

I’ll never forget the time that Pete M. broke S,N! when he was releasing Amber back into the wild.

    Congratulations, Mr. Carlisle.

Wow- I hit 2 years way back in May so that makes you, like, blog jailbait.

    Or something.

    At any rate, congrats!
